Coffee in hand, chocolate by my side! With so much uncertainty in the world, I’m learning to take things day by day and focus  on things I can control.

Finding joy each day isn’t easy, but how we show up and react makes a difference. Feelings come and go in waves, but I remind myself these feelings are temporary. I shift my perspective by finding gratitude for all the things around me. Today I’m grateful for supportive family and friends, my inner strength, coffee & chocolate because I can’t go a day without them! What are you grateful at this moment?

O Yoga vai salvar o mundo.

Eu nunca ouvi tanto sobre Yoga como estou ouvindo nessa quarentena. Aparentemente as pessoas despertaram mais para o poder dessa prática milenar. São lives, parcerias com marcas, pessoas buscando aulas on-line. O Yoga está nos holofotes do mundo inteiro como método de ancoramento, uma espécie de integração consciente com a própria espiritualidade. Ou cura para angústias ou simplesmente como movimento físico em tempos de ócio. Independente dos fundamentos de cada um, o importante nisso tudo é que a prática está ganhando uma linguagem cada vez mais acessível e mais democrática. Todo mundo quer falar de Yoga. Todo mundo quer fazer Yoga. E ela está aqui, disponível para todos os seres.
Antes que ela seja banalizada por aí (pois é a tendência de tudo que vira must-have), venho ressaltar o que venho falando há muito tempo: Yoga é um estado mental. Alongar e torcer o corpo te prepara fisicamente, mas não absorver os ensinamentos intrínsecos é um desperdício. É raso e só performático. E isso não te salva da miséria emocional, tão comum no Ser Humano.
Esse é o momento da gente viver o verdadeiro espírito do Yoga: abandonar crenças deturpadas, apegos desnecessários, julgamentos radicais, excessos nocivos, críticas amargas e finalmente ter aquele olhar mais cuidadoso conosco e com o próximo.
O Yoga é uma das ferramentas que podem salvar o mundo da pobreza espiritual. Vamos juntos?

I have always been very future minded. I love to plan, to make lists, to count down the days until a big event. And while this used to bring me joy, with the circumstances we are all in, it only brings me fear, anxiety, and feelings of helplessness. We have all had to press pause... on everything. Which means important things/events have been postponed, rescheduled, canceled. It also means that we could be faced with this same situation again and for who knows how long, and the uncertainty of it all can be consuming. So how do we live with all of this unknown and not get swallowed up? .

I have decided to be hopeful (and realistic.) I have decided to see what the future can hold instead of what may not happen. I have decided to not live or react from a place of fear, but to be open and receptive to all of the good that will come. And in the meantime, to see the good in the now.. like trying a new recipe, taking a mindful walk, starting conversations with an old friend. Some days it’s having the perfect chai tea (not steeping it too long) or staying in child’s pose for as long as I want on my mat. Maybe the good is in deepening a friendship, taking a long nap, or cuddling with a pet longer than you normally would. We can find good - we can find hope everywhere, if we look for it. Let’s shift our perspective to see and welcome the good, instead of anticipating what we can not control 💘

Taking my workouts outside, and posting on here takes a lot of guts, due to fear of judgment. I’ve learned to stop caring about what others think, and I started doing what makes ME happy. Whatever you do in life, make sure it makes YOU happy! Stop caring about what other people have to say, and do it for YOU. Remember to never compare your journey to someone else’s, because you will always be someones goal. Somedays I feel like I am doing this for nothing but accountability for myself and my journey, but with the hope of it all, I hope I get to inspire or help someone. No matter where you are in your journey, take a step back and be grateful for the smallest things in life. Life is too short to care about the what ifs, or what could’ve been. Live in the moment, and enjoy each day given!⁣⁣⁣

You’ll never have big arms as long as you’re under-weight. No matter how many biceps curls you do. To build bigger arms, increase your overall muscle mass first by getting stronger and eating more! 
Eat More. You need to eat more calories than you burn in order to gain weight. Most guys will need at least 2500 - 3000kcal/day, skinny guys with fast metabolisms will need even more. Start eating at least four meals a day – breakfast, lunch, dinner, post workout. Eat your stomach full on each meal.

Get Stronger. Strength is size. Staple goals for men is to Increase your Squat to 140kg/300lb, increase your Bench Press to 100kg/220lb, and increase your Deadlift to 180kg/400lb. This will increase your overall muscle mass.

Rest. Muscles grow when at rest. Give your arms a break, they’re small muscles. Check StrongLifts 5×5: the routine allows for plenty of rest.

Track Progress. Weigh yourself and measure your arms every 2 weeks.
