Being positive doesn’t mean being happy all the time or suppressing other feelings.
Having a positive attitude means that even in difficult situations you can find something to be grateful for. It means that during hard times you’re believing better ones will come. Not only believe but take action to make them happen as well. It means finding a way to change your situation if you’re unhappy.

A positive person can have shitty days and doesn’t bottle up their emotions. Instead they ride the wave without allowing themselves to drown.

Positivity requires effort, it’s an everyday choice.
It needs mind training and it’s often not easy.

But it’s a choice. A way to live life, to face struggles and joys. .

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has ideas, plans, trips, goals and all the other things in mind... but hasn’t quite taken the leap towards them yet.
When I go to jump ahead, book the flights, plan the trip, take the next step ect, I’m met with all the questions that come with it;
‘Is this the right time?’ ‘Am I ready?’
‘Can I afford this?’
‘Is it worth the investment?’
‘Can I do this alone?’.
And the list goes on. ..
If this is you; I’m with you.
I find it hard to not know the outcome.
I find it uncomfortable to not know that it’s going to work out 100% ok.
I find it anxiety provoking to not know that it’s definitely the right step to take.

But... yesterday, I was asked one simple question and I wanted to share it will you all;
If not now..... when?

DOUBLE KNEE TWIST

This supine (on your back) twist is great for improving digestion, relieving cramps, and minor back aches while also increasing chest & shoulder flexibilty. From your back pull your knees in and together, then with your arms out like a T or bent at the elbows, lower bith knees down to one side. RELAX into place, force nothing. Breathe so deep that you can feel your back lengthen on your inhales and your shoulders soften down on your exhales.

MODIFY: If this feels like too much, where you can't relax, then try pulling your knees closer in, or use a pillow under your opening shoulder for a milder twist. Do not attempt twists like this if you are pregnant, immediately postpartum or if you have significant back injuries and haven't received clearance from your doctor.

Imagine it: starting a new exercise class knowing it's going to take at least a year to be a normal part of life. Would you do it if you knew and after 12 months you'd be fully changed mind, body, soul? And even then still long for more growth?
A woman I've been working with for over a year is finding a place where she can balance on 1 foot with ease, quiet the mind on command, and do an entire warrior series with muscle memory.  It's taken a year of consistently practicing starting as a walker and working at a desk to get to that place in her journey. I was no different. I went to practice at least 3 times a week and remembered falling out of poses time after time also wondering if I was ever going to be able to find a straightened leg in a pigeon pose. Or waited for the days my hips could do sukasana without my right leg falling asleep.
She makes me so proud. I see myself in her, the me I was in yoga 6 years ago that had no expectation of an outcome just allowed what was each day. Trusting my instructor when she said it was a practice not a competition.

I think Cobra is a very strange pose; to some people it comes so naturally & easily, and for others it's a struggle. I think anatomy and having a specific hands to torso proportion is a critical factor to how easy or difficult you can do it. For me personally, Cobra is a struggle as I don't have the right hands length for it...they are too long! Therefore upward facing dog is a much preferred version although I still work on the adjustment in this pose because of my tight upper back. 🙃

حرکت کبرا و حرکت سگ سر بالا. در ویدئو میتوانید اختلاف این دو رو مشاهده کنید. حرکت اول کبرا هست که استخوان تحتانی لگن باید در تماس با زمین باقی بمونه و فقط تنه با کمک دستها و فشار ملایم بر روی اونها، تقریباً به زاویه ۹۰ درجه با پاها میرسه. حرکت دوم سگ سر بالا هست که استخوان لگن و عضله کوادز روی ران کاملاً از زمین فاصله می‌گیرند و حرکت حالت قدرتی پیدا می‌کنه. نسبت طول دستها به اندازه تنه، فاکتور مهمی هست که بر روی میزان آسان یا سخت بودن هر کدام از این دو حرکت تاثیر دارد

Focus sur Ujjayi breath!
Je crois que sur cette pose le focus est clairement de mise pour ma part! 😅 Concentration, respiration, balance.

Mais d'abord, Connaissez-vous la respiration Ujjayi ? 
Ujjayi est un mot sanskrit qui signifie « victorieux ».
En la pratiquant le bruit du souffle devient rauque (comme le son d'une vague de l'ocean).
Ceci est dû à la légère constriction de la glotte. Cette légère fermeture de la glotte crée de la résistance et donc le ralentissement naturel de la respiration. Elle permet de restreindre le flux d’air qui entre et sort de ses poumons. 
L'inspiration et l'expiration se font par le nez dans ce souffle. 
En la pratiquant, l'énergie voyage plus facilement, la respiration ralentit alors considérablement et l’esprit devient alerte et centré.🙏🏼

LETTING GO- sometimes the easiest things are the hardest. Letting go can be a very cathartic and liberating experience. Like a tree lets go of it’s leaves, we too can let go of our worries 🍃

It’s has been a while since I’ve had time and space to flow freely like today.  A lot of my sequencing comes from moments like this as I play with different asanas, transitions, movement.  Understanding them in my body so I can begin to work them into a movement flow for you all!

I’ve been teaching a lot lately.  Working a lot.  Squeezing in my practice when I can along with the many other million things I have to do on my todo list.

Some may look at my life and think “how does she do it” as my organisation skills to the untrained eye may seem pretty bad and my ability to traditionally “adult” seems low but I have my rhythm.  I find my way and I know that I always get where I need to.  In my way.  Outside of the traditional box and sometimes completely off the normal road.

I’m thrilled to say that I’ll be teaching regular slots teaching at @thirdspace (checj my weekly schedules for more info) and there will be some other open studio classes coming very soon for those that have recently practiced with my in my cover classes near Belgravia!  To hear the feedback after each class I give makes my heart swell as I know that what I’m offering to you guys - a little bit of me - in each one of my sequences is being welcomed and loved.

So thank you for showing up, thank you for supporting me and thank you for being there.
