Idag är det 8 år sedan jag började med seriös styrketräning. Inget lullande, inte längre någon mes-träning på gymmet och inget mer slarv med kosten. Ett av de bästa besluten jag har tagit i mitt liv gjorde jag alltså just idag för 8 år sedan. Častokrát sa nám nechce, sme leniví, hľadáme výhovorky. Nikto nie je dokonalý a robiť veci vždy na 100% je takmer nemožné. No mnohokrát dôvod prečo nejdeme do tej posilky, prečo sa nejdeme učiť, nejdeme pomôcť naším rodičom je kvôli LENIVOSTI. Ale čo je skutočne lenivosť ? Many of us spend years trying to find some kind of exercise we enjoy. Bootcamps, gym sessions, classes, running, cycling - trying everything but feeling so beaten down when it doesn’t instantly click that we give up.
Marie, similar to many of my other clients, had experienced this. Then one day she walked in to class. The moral support, the varied routines, the community feel and most importantly, everyone working at different levels of fitness. She didn’t feel intimidated or overwhelmed, she felt welcomed and comfortable in the small yet safe environment.
She then started to come to PT sessions, building up her strength, developing her technique and focusing on her gold. Over the past few months, she’s dropped weight, lost inches and completely grown in confidence. She’s like a completely different Marie to the one who walked through the door last summer!
Finding something that you really enjoy and even come to love makes a huge difference to the way you view and feel about exercise. If you hate HIIT, dread running or can’t stand swimming, don’t do it! Get out for a walk, find a workout buddy to cycle with or a great class that supports your needs. Whatever it is, you have to enjoy it.
Marie’s weekly one to one sessions have helped to make class movements much more comfortable, enhancing her flexibility and coordination. After years of niggles in her lower body and back, she showed off her strong glutes and loosened hips in class with her easy cross over shuffles and beaming smile, though that may also have been due to the new ring on her finger after a recent trip to Paris. ⚡ How hydrated are you? Dehydration is the first thing you have to take into account. How much water, coffee, juice, etc. do you drink every day? Read Neilson's story! "Alexandria firefighter. 185 pounds and out of shape on left. After not being as active as I used to, I gained alot of weight by eating terrible. Cholesterol was higher than ever due to mainly fast food. I was always in shape in my 20s-30s playing competitive softball every weekend. When I hit my early to mid 30s, I was driving a firetruck. Me and my wife quit playing softball as much because we welcomed a baby boy to our family. I became a captain at a early age of 37, which meant I had to go back inside burning buildings.  Being a firefighter, fitness is a big part of fighting fire. After getting out of breath one night at a fire, I decided to take a fellow firefighter up on his offer to try crossfit.  After giving it a shot, I never looked back. 165 pounds on right. Leaner, stronger, and way better engine. Crossfit has changed the way I look at fitness in general. I eat way better now than I ever have in my life. I haven't had a soft drink in years.
