Balance is the new hustle.

I remember going to school full time and working full. Busy was my middle name and I was proud. This lasted a few years until I realized that my physical, mental, emotion and spiritual health was suffering. I wasn’t honoring myself and my needs. I was loosing my sense of self and wasn’t being the person I needed to be for the ones I loved. This was about 7 years ago and ever since then I have been doing what I can to live as balanced as a life as I possible. Living a balanced life is about finding the balance between work and play, studying and resting. This is the difference between going to bed feeling drained and uninspired and going to bed feeling fulfilled. It may take some experimenting to find what works best for you. 
Anytime I am feeling overwhelmed or overworked I hop on to my yoga mat and practice some deep stretches or I take a drive down to the beach. Do you have a favorite activity that moves you out of hustle mode?

Waiting for tonight’s full moon like... 🙏🏼✨

If you’ve ever wondered why and how we as humans are effected by the full moon, you’re not alone. Many people don’t fully understand so they choose to ignore the innate signs from their body. 
The reality is, Human beings have a deep and ancient connection to the moon. In the past, full moons were times of social activity while under the darkness of the new moon, we would go inward and stay in our homes to reflect. Now that we're in a modern society, the moons light is not needed to be social. But our innate, intuitive, evolutionary system is still wired to follow the cycles of the moon. If you ever notice yourself being more sociable during full moons and more of a hermit during new moons, that's why.
The moons phases can also effect our mood. Each phase affects the tides, as well as the human body. During a full moon you may notice your emotions come full circle, intense conversations, breakdowns, realizations and all things of those sorts are known to happen during the full moon.
During tonight’s full moon in Taurus, we get a chance to get grounded once again. If you’ve felt uncertainty, disorganized or a little out of place- things will begin to shift! 
So how can we embrace these emotions and experience all the benefits the full moon has to offer? ✨

Cet après-midi j’ai reçu un message de l’une d’entre vous (je précise, sans aucune mauvaise intention 😉) me signalant que « j’avais oublié ma garde » en donnant un kick en Story 😬.
.
C’est vrai que j’ai fait cette petite vidéo 2 minutes avant de commencer mon cours et que je m’amusais plutôt avec @mehditetard au lieu d’être focus sur ma technique... 😂 Mais cette remarque -loin d’être une exception 🤷🏻‍♀️- m’a donné envie de réagir sur le sujet !
.
Il y a quelques mois, j’ai arrêté de poster mes entraînements à la salle 🙃, car j’étais lasse de recevoir des messages pour me dire que « à la répétition 70, je n’étais pas descendue assez bas sur mon squat ». Oui ça m’arrive souvent quand je fatigue, j’imagine que vous aussi, et vous savez quoi ? Ce n’est pas grave 😉, car la perfection n’existe pas et ce n’est pas ce que je recherche lorsque je fais du sport.
.
Et si on arrêtait de se focaliser sur ce qui ne va pas chez l’autre ou chez soi ✌🏼, et qu’on se félicitait TOUS pour le chemin parcouru ?
.
Peu importe que la jambe soit tendue ou légèrement fléchie, que la foulée soit médio-pied ou attaque talon si cela n’occasionne pas de blessure 🤕, peu importe votre niveau, votre forme du jour, vos objectifs petits ou grands, soyez bienveillants avec vous-même et avec les autres.
.
Acceptez de voir/publier des photos ou les postures/exercices ne sont pas réalisés parfaitement ici 📸, encouragez les personnes qui les postent, ne vous comparez pas à elles en vous valorisant ou en vous dévalorisant ❌.
.
Le plus souvent ce n’est pas la destination qui compte, mais bien la route ! Et personnellement, je suis ravie de voir vos progrès grâce au hashtag #ACTIVRE 🙏🏼💫✌🏼

Shrimp Teriyaki Stir-Fry

Serves: 2
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 1 teaspoon oil
- ½ cup water, divided
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey (or sugar or choice)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup blanched broccoli florets
- Steamed white rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions:
- Heat a large skillet medium high heat. Add oil & shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until pink.
- Remove shrimp from pan & add ¼ cup water, soy sauce, honey, garlic, sesame oil, & ginger. Whisk to combine. Bring mixture to a boil. - In a small bowl whisk together cornstarch & remaning1/4 cup water. - Slowly whisk in the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan & simmer for 3-4 minutes or until thick. - Return shrimp to pan along with 1 cup of blanched broccoli and coat evenly with sauce.
- Serve rice, noodles or a salad.

There is an awful lot of info out there in the other about diet and exercise. It can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate. So it pays to THINK about your goal, your lifestyle, your budget and your commitment. Ask for help and be open to new ideas. Something will come along and make sense.

It's important to BELIEVE in yourself and know that you can do anything you set your mind to. Believe in your present and your future possibilities. Belief you can achieve anything gets you closer to your goals.

Do you have a DREAM? What is it? Write it down. What would your dream job be? What about your dream house? Your dream family life? Your dream health? Anything. You have to have a dream big enough to keep you going when the going gets tough.

And you have to leave your comfort zone. Nothing changes if nothing changes. So DARE to be different. Dare to press play on a home workout. Dare to stop dieting and just focus on eating in the correct portions. Dare to sign up for a unique opportunity that could change your life and finances.

For some people, reading out loud is scary but I am talking about in private. Try reading a poem our loud twice a day. The cadence, words, and images will soothe your soul. Not into poetry? If you’re religious, try reading a psalm or other sacred writings.

For some people, reading out loud is scary but I am talking about in private. Try reading a poem our loud twice a day. The cadence, words, and images will soothe your soul. Not into poetry? If you’re religious, try reading a psalm or other sacred writings.

Do you have a PHD in procrastination? Are you brave enough to call yourself out?!? To stop window shopping your health... always checking for the latest free trial, meal replacement shake, skinny tea, or free meal plan that promises a tight stomach and to lose 20 lbs in two weeks.

This is why you are stuck at the same place you were last year.  You don’t get quality results from a cheap product.

These “solutions” don’t cater to your specific goals and preferences. You don’t learn what your body needs, and how to give it that.  You certainly don’t get support.

The real reason you don’t get results is that you aren’t truly investing in yourself.  You know you won’t feel bad about losing that minimal investment to match your half-way commitment.

Wouldn’t you rather invest into one thing that will actually work?  You pay for your health either way, in prevention or restoration.

It’s time to make a decision to stop wishing and watching the success you see in others around you and actually invest in yourself!

I talked to a potential client one month ago and she was concerned about starting her program before Christmas.  I told her we needed to start NOW.

In one month you can make amazing progress and get some great habits so you can progress during the Holidays, not gain more!  Which, I’m proud to say she is doing!!! If you’re sick and tired of your excuses - NOW is the time to change!  Not tomorrow, next week, or “as soon as”

So I've been playing around with shakeo recipes and this is beyond my favorite! If you love Resse's gotta try this!! 🍫

1 scoop chocolate shakeology (I use vegan)
2 cup water or unsweetened almond milk 
1 tbsp PB2 w/ cocoa 
Add ice and blend

Let me tell y'all it is BOMB. Sometimes I add strawberries or bananas to give it some more yummy taste. I always thought I would never drink them, didn't want to "waste my money." I can't function through the day without it now!! It actually taste good! My husband, who is picky with his protein powders, even enjoyed it. 😳

I met my new Functional Medicine doctor today. It was a two hour drive, but very necessary... That's sometimes just what you have to do to get the right treatment. Treatment from someone who cares.  Someone who gives you the time of day... and who considers your daily habits, diet & life stressors to all be part of the full picture of health. #functionalmedicine #forthewin .

We've had snow squalls in the region over the last two days and I was really nervous about driving today, especially leaving the house at 7:30am. Because...#brainfog .
.
Last night my dad filled the car's wiper fluid for me to make sure I had enough for the salty highways. I headed out early this morning to find: this beautiful sunrise... and tire tracks. I was nervous for the driveway (it's a massive un-shovelled hill), and my dad drove up and down last night to make me tire tracks. 
He also woke up early and shoveled the end of the drive (in his house-coat and touqe) to get rid of some snow-plow build-up before I left at 7:30. #dadoftheyear .

Life with Chronic Fatigue is hard. And it was a lot harder when I was living alone. Supporting myself & suppressing symptoms are the two main reasons I got where I am in my health today. I'm so thankful for people in my life, like my awesome dad, who do their best to understand what I'm going through - and make the effort to support me in practical ways. It doesn't have to make sense to us, but we can support someone's battle (by listening and believing their truth), and then rising up to serve when we are able. Thanks, daddy. 💕
