I’m often asked what supplements I would recommend for general health. Curcumin is one of them. Why? The evidence is growing for multiple health benefits and I highly doubt you get enough turmeric in your diet anyways. Do you need to supplement with curcumin? No. But there seems to be benefits to adding this into your life. Plus it’s not pricey.

Most people use turmeric for its anti-inflammatory properties. It’s important to note that the anti-inflammatory compound within turmeric is curcumin. This compound is not well-absorbed, so taking turmeric by itself probably won’t do you any favors. Curcumin is best absorbed in combination with piperine, BCM-95, or Meriva.

Other possible benefits with less research include but are not limited to:
- increased nitric oxide & improved blood flow
- minor decrease in anxiety
- minor improvements in blood lipid/cholesterol profiles
- slightly reduces colorectal cancer risk

Let me discuss- ✔️Can preworkouts help you to push harder in the gym and have ergogenic benefits? Yes!! Not all. All about DOSAGE. And just because there are benefits doesn’t mean you NEED it.
✔️ Can protein powder be helpful to get your daily protein in? YES. But again- does mean you need it. You can get other sources of dietary protein to meet your needs. Whey is just highly biologically available and convenient. And delicious lol
✔️ Can fat burners make a difference? 99.9% of the time no lol. BUTTTT some ingredients DO WORK and play a role in lipolysis (breakdown of fat). You must ensure the product is SAFE and has optimal dosages. (And again 99.9% of the time diet and exercise are all you need)

Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) refers to three amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, and valine.

For people with low dietary protein intake, BCAA supplementation can promote muscle protein synthesis and increase muscle growth over time. Supplementation can also be used to prevent fatigue in novice athletes.

Leucine plays an important role in muscle protein synthesis, while isoleucine induces glucose uptake into cells. Further research is needed to determine valine’s role in a BCAA supplement.

Supplementing BCAAs prevents a serum decline in BCAAs, which occurs during exercise. A serum decline would normally cause a tryptophan influx into the brain, followed by serotonin production, which causes fatigue.

BCAAs are important to ingest on a daily basis, but many protein sources, such as meat and eggs, already provide BCAAs. Supplementation is unnecessary for people with a sufficiently high protein intake (1-1.5g per kg of bodyweight a day or more).

Sodium bicarbonate 🤷‍♀️👍😁 Ok, so here’s the thing. We have been taught that muscle soreness is caused by lactic acid, which is not true. Lactic acid when it looses one H+ ion makes LACTATE. Lactate is good, and the body has multiple uses for it, including the brain. However, what isn’t is the Hydrogen ion. .

Multiple research has proven that sodium bicarbonate helps pulling the hydrogen ions out of the muscle cells, thus making us perform longer (eg more reps/ volume). It acts as an extra cellular buffer (neutraliser)Another substance that does this intra-cellular is beta alanin. So taking those two, plus ofcourse creatine 👉 will have an actual effect on performance! There you go! ————————————————————-
And it doesn’t cost $ like those expensive supplement do! The only things is, both of those are awful, it the does has been exceed, which I have of course done with both of them, and let me tell you, it’s not pleasant at all. So less than 5g daily for beta alanine; 15-20g sodium bicarbonate (in 2-3 times) and creatine load (25g per day first week then 5g per day subsequent weeks) but I’ll right about that on another time. .
