for me, being intrinsically motivated means appreciating all parts of my fitness journey and investing in my health for the long term - alongside working towards my physique goals.⁣

intrinsic motivation is what will sustain your efforts in the long term, rather than extrinsic motivation which makes you do things for recognition from others.⁣
⁣
don’t do it ONLY for the accolades, reinforcement from others or instant gratification. extrinsic motivation will backfire eventually, but your willpower to always be better than yesterday for your own personal reward is far more reliable.

DARK HAZELNUT CHOC & SALTED CARAMEL PROTEIN BARS🍫🌰

As you can tell from my feed I LOVE baking, and this adapted recipe from @_sarahlfit is easy for you all to follow. and includes standard cupboard ingredients too 👏🏼

Ingredients:
CAKE BAR
🌟1 cup of ready brek
🌟1 & 1/2 scoops protein powder (@myproteinuk dark choice & salted caramel)
🌟1 tbsp cocoa powder
🌟1 tbsp peanut butter (@myproteinuk smooth)
🌟1 tbsp honey
🌟50-100ml milk
TOPPING
🌟30g Choc Spread (@myproteinuk choc hazelnut)

METHOD
1. Pre-heat oven to 180’C

2. Combined the cake bar ingredients into a bowl until the mixture is squishy texture.

3.Line a baking loaf tin with greaseproof paper.

4. Pour the mixture into the tin and spread evenly
-
5. Cook in the oven for 6mins.
-
6. While the cake bar is cooking, melt the choc spread.
-
7. Take tin out of oven and spread the chocolate over the top.

8. leave in the freezer for 30-45mins.

9. Cut into bars.

Today makes 3 years with this woman here. She is funny, beautiful, smart, loving, strong, full of attitude 😂 (which I love) and empowering. I can’t imagine these 3 years without her. Especially 2020. When the year started and I lost my mom she didn’t judge me in moments of pain and anger. She didn’t retaliate when I lashed out. When I needed space she gave it and still never left my side. When I lost my job she didn’t flinch. She didn’t look at me as less. She picked me up when it rocked me and made me believe who I am and what I can do. Hell she was happy that it happened. Today makes 3 years with this woman here. She is funny, beautiful, smart, loving, strong, full of attitude 😂 (which I love) and empowering. I can’t imagine these 3 years without her. Especially 2020. When the year started and I lost my mom she didn’t judge me in moments of pain and anger. She didn’t retaliate when I lashed out. When I needed space she gave it and still never left my side. When I lost my job she didn’t flinch. She didn’t look at me as less. She picked me up when it rocked me and made me believe who I am and what I can do. Hell she was happy that it happened. Another one from yesterday session as today was just cardio ğŸ˜Ž. Decided to implement cardio to the cut now that it's easier to track using the treadmill etc.

I'll start off with 2/3 cardio sessions a week at 300 calories a go.🚶‍♂️Incline walking is my go to cardio as I can just watch YouTube vids or a series while doing it👌🏽.Will use the stair master if I want to switch it up.

Tracking cardio with calories rather than time means if you aren't feeling it one day you can just take it easy till you reach the goal 😉

9) hide snacks from plain sight

A few things that will accelerate fat loss.​

1 - How well you breathe. ​ ​
​
Poor breathing habits such as shallow breathing through the mouth and into the chest. ​
​
The fight or flight response is dominant when we breathe poorly. As a result, we can experience poor digestion, chronic fatigue and issues dropping weight, particularly around the belly.​

2 - Movement.​
​
How much you move outside of your planned exercise regime will have a more significant impact on your health and weight loss progress than any workouts you do.​
​
Move as much as you can, as often as you can. Your waistline, mindset and heart will thank you for it.​
​
​
3 - Hydration.​
​
The amount of Dads who tell me they can’t lose weight and that don’t drink any water is frightening! Chronic dehydration will increase inflammation, damage your sex drive, contribute to muscle loss and increase the chances of you snacking on crap every day.​

Even if you have to add some low sugar cordial to hit your hydration targets, do it. ​ ​

I was really pleased to notice the size I’ve put on over this lockdown period and despite feeling pretty fluffy, especially after a few days of birthday enjoyment, I’m now back on track with absolute tunnel vision and ready to see what’s hiding under this body fat!

For the first time in a while I felt strong 💪🏼 I did 4 rounds of 12 reps each for this weighted circuit
