Plant based update:
I hate how much better my body feels, but I canโ€™t argue the current results.
Iโ€™ve made adjustments to training to focus more on losing weight, moving better, and increasing stamina. Strength will take a back seat until Iโ€™m ready and Iโ€™m hoping I can rebuild it quickly. Running a mile before training since last week. Last Monday I could barely run a mile under 16 minutes and today Iโ€™m just under 12.

Just as recently as a month ago, I was doing clamshells incorrectly.

I was fortunate enough to come across @andrew_lock_strength who did a video demonstrating correct technique. I wasnโ€™t way off the mark but the small change to my foot position made a HUGE difference.

And whatโ€™s really exciting, is that today I squatted pain free using the new clamshell technique in combination with better squat cueing Iโ€™ve picked up from @biolayne, @hollytbaxter, @australianstrengthcoach and @squat_university

As an EP, Iโ€™ve spent so long specialising in chronic disease, Iโ€™ve forgotten much around exercise technique and cueing. Plus people are always finding better ways to train and move so what we โ€œknowโ€ today, could be different tomorrow.

And this just means that our learning should never stop. We also should encourage one other to being open minded and willing to admit we were wrong. Once you get past your ego, being wrong is awesome because you recognise youโ€™re changing, growing and improving.

So I highly encourage you to follow the accounts I just listed - these people are more than qualified to give the advice they do and they actually live their advice!

The last 2 weeks squats and deadlifts have just been trash. After a severe cold snap while working hardcore hours on the line, fatigue really took its toll. That self doubt was definitely there that I was just regressing. .

The main point here is bad weeks come and go. Just stick to your plan and keep driving through. Address the issue and fix it, in my case, sleep and recovery.

The last 2 weeks squats and deadlifts have just been trash. After a severe cold snap while working hardcore hours on the line, fatigue really took its toll. That self doubt was definitely there that I was just regressing. .
