Added Z presses into my workout tonight. Started with a lighter weight, since it was my first time trying them. Give it a try on your next shoulder day. Not only does it work your shoulders, it works your core as well, since you are on the floor. What I do for my workouts is in constant flux what I did today for shoulders I won’t do next shoulder workout, every exercise, rep range, and set count will differ, I wholeheartedly subscribe to keeping the body guessing to keep the body growing, if you focus on muscle stimulation i.e. what muscles you’re stimulating and listen to your tendons and ligaments (if they’re telling you they don’t like something chances are high if you continue you’ll end up with an injury) you’ll be alright , I tend to modify exercises with either a unorthodox movement or super setting into a completely different exercise all the while making sure the muscle I’m working is the primary muscle being activated, here’s what exercises I did for shoulders today and which delta were their primary focus. 
1. Lateral raises-super set into external rotations: medial/lateral delt the external rotations recruited both anterior/front delt and posterior/back delt
2.Side pullie raises: medial/lateral delt
3.Cable deltoid raise: medial/lateral delt
4.Rope face pull: posterior/back delt
4.Close grip cable shoulder press: anterior/front delt
5.Reverse peck deck: posterior/back delt
6.Reverse flyes: posterior/back delts

Deadlifts today @ 425 lbs for 4 x 4

I’ve been finding that deadlifting with a more narrow stance helps me lift heavy weight easier. Sometimes playing w your lifting stance and leg placement is key to increasing your lifts and maximizing performance!

Overhead barbell press
Build them shouldas. 
1. Start with your hands just outside your shoulders on the bar and bar resting on your shoulder. 
2. Step back, tighten core pulling rib cage down towards hip bones and maintain this position the best you can.
3. Squeeze glute and press directly over moving head back slightly out of the path of the bar.
4. Try to stay symmetrical with both arms although most people aren’t totally (you can tell I’m not). Also try not to arch back as you press up.
5. Lock out with biceps in line with side of head.
6. Reverse the lift and control the lowering phase of the bar and don’t crash it down on your shoulders.
This is a hard movement to make quick progress because most typically when pressing overhead you use a lighter weight than any other compound lift so gains may only come in 1 rep or 5 pound increments. It feels awesome though when you do make progress. Happy lifting!

1- Calculate your maintenance calories! This can be done by tracking food consumption for an entire week. Once you have your weekly intake, divide by 7 to get your daily average.

2- Subtract 300-500 calories from your daily average to put yourself in a deficit. (To lose 1 pound per week, you need to reach a total calorie deficit of about 3500 calories per week or 500 calories per day)

3- Gradually increase the deficit IF progress begins to stall. There is no need to increase the deficit if you’re still making progress with the same calories.

It keeps me going and motivates me even more. 8 years between these pictures. So very very hard to believe how far I’ve truly come. Heavy weights don't cause injuries like people foolishly believe, bad mechanics do. The problem is that the heavier the weights get, the thinner the margin or error in form gets.⁣

So always learn the form and how the muscles work together so that the movement pattern becomes second nature.⁣
