EASY Meal Prep Recipe 🍲
Chicken Burrito bowls = 350 calories😍💪🏼🍲

CHICKEN BURRITO BOWLS
Serves 4-6
.
INGREDIENTS
2-3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
3 bell peppers, any color, sliced
1 large red onion, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon taco seasoning
Salt and pepper
1 jar salsa
3 cups cooked brown rice, divided
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can corn
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 lime, sliced into wedges
Fresh cilantro to garnish

PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 400˚F/200˚C.
Line a baking sheet with foil.
Place the chicken, peppers, and onions onto the baking sheet and drizzle with oil.
Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
Salt and pepper the peppers and onions, tossing to coat.
Top each chicken breast with a generous pour of salsa.
Bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Rest chicken for 10 minutes, before slicing into strips.
Add a base of brown rice to 4 food storage containers. Top each with a scoop of black beans, corn, additional salsa, cheddar cheese, cooked peppers and onions, and sliced chicken. Garnish with fresh cilantro and a lime wedge.
Store in the refrigerator (and enjoy any extras immediately). Can be kept refrigerated for up to 4 days.

Before you buy some garbage pre workout called shredded or megapump3000, here’s four pre workout supplements that can actually help you minus all the chemicals and marketing.

BCAAs: BCAAs are three essential amino acids (EAA) that make up a large chunk of all EAAs in the body: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. A recent study showed consuming BCAAs without any other amino acids present does not increase muscle protein synthesis (the formation of muscle). Carbs play a vital role in an athlete’s health & performance. Although for most people timing and exact quantities aren’t of essence, athletes need to have everything planned correctly in order to thrive in their sport.

Carbs are our primary and main source of energy, so it’s no wonder that there’s a huge emphasis on them when it comes to fueling our bodies.

As you can see, “healthy” carbs are not always the most optimal choice. For most people, it is always recommended to get most carbs from complex and fibrous sources; however, for athletes, simple and fast-digesting carbs are necessary before, during, and right after training.

That being said, a healthy and balanced diet that consists of complex carbs and a sufficient amount of protein should always be sustained outside of training and games.

Did you know that studies have found *illegal drugs* or prescription drugs in a lot of these weight loss and pre-workout supplements? 😡 A lot of the drugs are stimulants: they will increase your heart rate and blood pressure (similar to caffeine), but the problem is that they are banned substances for a reason. 🙅🏽‍♀️ They can cause serious problems if taken in too high of doses (like you could have a heart attack). 🖤

How is this allowed?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s because the FDA doesn’t regulate supplements or need to approve them. That means that ANYONE can make a preworkout or weight loss supplement and sell it, with whatever ingredients they want. 🥺

When I worked as a trainer at one of the larger chain gyms, I was “forced” to sell 10% of what I made in my personal training sales in supplements from the shop. 🤑 I refused to do this, but a lot of trainers might not know the harm that it can cause to their clients and so will try to sell you whatever from the shop to meet their numbers. Don’t do it!! .

If you’re one to get a workout in before the sun comes up then I’m guessing the answer is yes. But it doesn’t have to be! Everyone is different when it comes to what they can or cannot tolerate pre-workout, but if you find your performance improves when you have time to eat before a session then it’s worth fitting in the pre-workout calories every time, not just on the weekends.

Just like you train your muscles for a race, you must also train your GI tract. Test new foods only during training and never introduce a new food on race day. Start with a minimum of 25-30g carb in the hour before a morning workout. This is approximately the amount you’d get in a medium banana, two pieces of toast and jam, or 1-2 small pancakes.

The goal of low-fiber carbs is to allow for quick digestion and glucose availability when you start exercising. Remember to include additional carbs and fluid if you’re planning to be active for over an hour.

One of my absolute fave pre workouts is @tc.nutrition Batch 27!💯💯 Why❓
1 - absofrickenlutely delish!!😆🤤
2 - mixes great with a pump/carb product and always overpowers any other flavour 😂 however it doesn’t need to be mixed with a pump product as it already has 8g of Citruline in it to increase the blood flow!
3 - it’s a great kick in the butt compared to a beginner pre without an overpowering amount on stims
4 - it contains 2 difference caffeine sources to avoid that nasty crash mid workout 🏋️‍♂️
