I’ve been thinking a lot recently about our need to monetize every single aspect of our lives. News flash, everything you’re passionate about doesn’t HAVE to be economically profitable. Yet, your passions WILL “profit” you in many other aspects of life. I’ve always been interested in a wide variety of different things. Hobbies I like to sink my teeth into. Some quickly dwindle, while others stick around for a while. 
To name a few, in 2020 I plan to take singing lessons, take a few beginner adult ballet classes, and brush up on my German. Do I want to take singing lessons to become a singer? Not in the slightest. I love to sing, love music, and want to learn the technique behind it all. I think it’s epic to be able to turn a passion into a career, but I don’t think that applies to everything in life. It’s okay to have hobbies just for the sake of having hobbies. In fact, it’s really beautiful to work at something consistently without any expectations. Reminding myself of this today. ❤️

Been doing some HIIT workouts the last few weeks and i’m feeling GOOD 😤

So my hair wash/ leg day seems to have fallen out of sync. I like to do legs on a Wednesday but my hair couldn’t last another day so decision made - legs this evening! Anyone else do legs on hair wash day??

It was a great workout; the gym was a lot quieter and I managed to get through all exercises pretty quickly. I’m not sure where all of my energy came from as I had VERY little sleep last night, and I’m feeling rather tired now but smashed it!

Side note: I’ve been making an effort not to pick up my phone between sets over the past few weeks as it became a habit and prolonged my rests. I rarely pick up my phone at all now and my workouts feel a lot more productive. Great tip if you do this too!

I’m all about balance but if you think balance is eating rubbish, getting smashed on the weekends and not exercising at least three times a week then you’ve got it all wrong 👊🏼.⁣

 We should all Make our health, our wellbeing our main priority. If done so you’ll see your productivity, energy levels, skin+hair and physique improve immensely 👍🏻👍🏻⁣

the thing is, since being vegan, i have become so much more experimental with food and combining different things because I feel like that’s what should be done with it?? Who’s to say you can’t have chickpeas on breakfast? Or that they can’t be sweet rather than savoury? Let me know what ‘odd’ combinations you like 🤗

how to make peace with food/drink guilt: so let’s say you’ve been out and had a meal with friends, followed by special drinks and maybe a dessert. All you can think is that you need to ‘burn it off’ the day after in the gym, or you need to restrict yourself to compensate. One night of this will not harm you. You think I’m 20 years time you’ll be guilty about that lovely meal out because it could have taken you over some rubbish ‘calorie limit’?? NO you won’t. Food and drink are nourishment. Your body still got nutrition. And it is smart. It can handle a night of different intake. You still need to eat a normal amount the day after! Because that was yesterday, and this is the next day. It seems like it’s brought on us that some food is ‘guilty’ or ‘junk’ and demonised this way. But at the end of the day, it’s just fuel. Satisfying a craving or enjoying the moment is so much more important. In a balanced diet, it really doesn’t make a difference. Be a kid. They don’t restrict after eating as much as they like. 💥ULTIMATE BENCH CIRCUIT

Often some of the most basic exercises in the gym using 1 simple piece of equipment are overlooked because they don’t look as fancy BUT...you will definitely feel the burn on this one. 
The challenge of this workout is not only keeping up with the high intensity exercises (squat/step ups) but also bringing awareness to unilateral (one sided) exercises such as the single leg squat, glute thrust & split squat. These exercises are challenging because they require stability, balance and full body engagement. Mastering these basic exercises builds a great foundation for progression. 
Please note you can change any variable (time , add weight , repetitions) you like!

8 exercises total
Round 1
Squat ups 30-45 seconds
single leg squat to bench (8-10
Incline push up (10-15)
Single leg glute thrust 10-12
REPEAT ALL 3 x

REST 60 seconds 
Round 2
Single leg step ups 30-45 sec
V-sit/V-sit up 30-45sec or12-15
Elevated split squat 12-15
Side plank w/abduction 30 sec or 12-15. 
REPEAT ALL 3 x

Thai red curry! The easiest dish you can ever make and full of flavour! I was considering if recipe is even needed as is so easy to make that I feel I could assault someone with it...
This week challenge definitely helped me to stay more consistent, because believe me not even once I was bothered to do any of those posts... Feel more motivated, uplifted and ready for next one! .

Happy Friday! Have not washed my hair since my orange theory session but had to take a quick picture with my lovebug💚I am still sore AF. Maybe should have taken a session today instead of wednesday. At least this way hubby could have been home and watched Liam. Because every inch of my body is aching still😫Being sore while carrying a 16lbs baby and taking caring of him all day is no joke when your sore🙅🏻‍♀️You know that feeling when you can’t even sit on the toilet seat because your in pain🤭

This video is focused on some movements I’ll do as a cool-down after a workout — can be after any type! Run, ride, lift, etc.⁣

The goal? Open up the hips, release the glutes and low back, take deep breaths as you move, push into the stretches that feel good (you know that feeling!), ease into the ones that come less naturally, and give your body the chance to recover properly.⁣
⁣
You could be doing your body a big disservice by neglecting the warmup and cool down. I see it ALL THE TIME. We’re all so busy that even making time to exercise is hard in the first place! But it’s WAY worth it to cut it a few minutes short for a cool-down, here’s why...⁣

BENEFITS of a cool-down: ⁣
✨Gradual recovery of heart rate, blood pressure, and body temperature
✨Reduced lactic acid buildup, which can reduce stiffness and soreness⁣
✨Some studies have shown a correlation with improved immune functioning⁣

🇬🇧 Had a ridiculous good postworkout #lunch today 👌🏻. Plus it will only take you 5 minutes and 4 ingredients to prepare.

👩🏻‍🍳 How to:
For 1 person:
- Cut 200 gr mushrooms into slices
- Bake in a frying pan. Add a little black pepper if you like.
- Add 100 gr fresh kale - Add 100 gr little shrimps
- Bake and mix it up for just a few minutes
- Put on your plate and add some walnuts 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Macros:
410 kcal / 9 gr carbs / 24,7 fat / 33,9 protein .

Really low in carbs and high in good fats this meal because of the walnuts. I’m not into a low carb or keto diet: so ate another brownie (the last one!) a bit later 😃
