My answer is simple. NO. I am not getting sick of it, I am embracing it. I am using it as an opportunity to be productive and get back into hobbies that have been long lost.

This doesn’t mean I don’t miss the life I had before isolation, because I do! I miss coaching tennis everyday and seeing my clients improve with each lesson. But this time away isn’t bad, it’s just DIFFERENT.

This quarantine season is just another chapter in our lives that doesn’t need to be overcome, but EMBRACED. Take this time to DO all of the things that you have always said you don’t have time to do. Reach out to friends you haven’t seen or talked to. Pick up those old hobbies that you once loved. Start DOING and stop complaining!

I know I keep posting about exercise and keeping fit during this lockdown,  and a lot of people are pushing workouts here there and everywhere, but don’t feel pressured to work out if you don’t want to! Do what makes you happy ✨. For me that’s exercise, and I’ll continue to post workouts for people that struggle to piece together their own or for anyone just wanting fresh ideas. But if you don’t want to exercise, don’t force yourself. Exercise should be enjoyable and not forced! I’m not about people having a negative relationship with working out. Positivity all the way 🔑Especially with everything going on. I do believe when you’re feeling down getting some form of exercise in helps (it does me), however, I know this isn’t the case for everyone. Sometimes we need a duvet day. 💕

These last couple of weeks, have looked a little bit like this. #sahglamerous

Karl and I moved an entire CrossFit affiliate home to our lounge room [and online] amidst a home move, during what has been a super strange and crazy time for the entire world.

Anxiety and stress - through that roof. Uncertainty, panic, feelings of having to ‘do.it.all.right.bluddy.now’ - 100%. It has actually been such a blur, I can’t believe how fast and yet, somehow slow, it has all gone. It feels like ages ago and yesterday all at the same time.

Being gentle and kind with ourselves to settle into our new surroundings, absolutely not an option. There was too much to do and not enough time to do it all in. It’s amazing how your “normal” responsibilities feel completely unrealistic at times like these.

But, the good news. We are here now able to reflect. It means that we are on the other side of the race and now, we can start to implement strategies to bring back the structure, the routine and extra. Because there certainly has been no room for extra thus far!

I have no doubt that many of you have felt the same lately, moving offices home and settling into what feels like a completely new world, but I hope like us - you’re getting there.

Humanmechanik vs Corona mit dem 16:8 Fasten
Durch die 16-stündige Pause des Fastens  bekommt der Körper eine Auszeit. 
In dieser Zeit kann der Stoffwechsel wieder ins Lot gebracht werden, Giftstoffe, die sich in der Leber angesammelt haben können besser ausgeschieden werden und der Körper kann Insulin wieder besser verarbeiten.
Im Mittelpunkt des Intervallfastens steht die klare Abgrenzung von Fasten und Essensphase. Die Nahrungsaufnahme erfolgt zeitlich begrenzt für 8 Stunden täglich, die restlichen 16 Stunden wird gefastet. Alles andere kann relativ individuell gestaltet werden. Das heißt wann und was man während der 8 Stunden isst, kann jeder selbst entscheiden.
Es empfiehlt sich zwei Mahlzeiten einzunehmen. Das Frühstück oder das Abendessen wird je nach Belieben weggelassen. 
Dann muss für 16 Stunden am Stück auf Nahrung verzichtet werden. 
Idealerweise kann der Körper durch die Pausen auch wieder besser zwischen Zucker- und Fettstoffwechsel hin und her schalten, wodurch sich der Fettstoffwechsel verbessert.
Neben der Gewichtsreduktion hat das 16:8-Intervallfasten vielerlei weitere gesundheitsverbessernde Effekte. 
Generell geht man davon aus, dass sich Fasten positiv auf die Gesundheit auswirkt. 
Durch die Pausen zwischen der Nahrungsaufnahme wird die Zellreinigung (Autophagie) angeregt.
Das heißt der Körper kann die Zellen aufräumen und entgiften. 
Das hat eine positive Wirkung auf die Blutzuckerwerte3, wodurch einem Diabetes Risiko vorgebeugt werden kann. 
Außerdem können Blutdruck und Cholesterinwerte reguliert werden.

Humanmechanik vs Corona mit dem 16:8 Fasten
Durch die 16-stündige Pause des Fastens  bekommt der Körper eine Auszeit.
In dieser Zeit kann der Stoffwechsel wieder ins Lot gebracht werden, Giftstoffe, die sich in der Leber angesammelt haben können besser ausgeschieden werden und der Körper kann Insulin wieder besser verarbeiten.
Im Mittelpunkt des Intervallfastens steht die klare Abgrenzung von Fasten und Essensphase. Die Nahrungsaufnahme erfolgt zeitlich begrenzt für 8 Stunden täglich, die restlichen 16 Stunden wird gefastet. Alles andere kann relativ individuell gestaltet werden. Das heißt wann und was man während der 8 Stunden isst, kann jeder selbst entscheiden.
Es empfiehlt sich zwei Mahlzeiten einzunehmen. Das Frühstück oder das Abendessen wird je nach Belieben weggelassen.
Dann muss für 16 Stunden am Stück auf Nahrung verzichtet werden.
Idealerweise kann der Körper durch die Pausen auch wieder besser zwischen Zucker- und Fettstoffwechsel hin und her schalten, wodurch sich der Fettstoffwechsel verbessert.
Neben der Gewichtsreduktion hat das 16:8-Intervallfasten vielerlei weitere gesundheitsverbessernde Effekte.
Generell geht man davon aus, dass sich Fasten positiv auf die Gesundheit auswirkt.
Durch die Pausen zwischen der Nahrungsaufnahme wird die Zellreinigung (Autophagie) angeregt.
Das heißt der Körper kann die Zellen aufräumen und entgiften.
Das hat eine positive Wirkung auf die Blutzuckerwerte3, wodurch einem Diabetes Risiko vorgebeugt werden kann.
Außerdem können Blutdruck und Cholesterinwerte reguliert werden.

QUICK BACK WORKOUT!! Needed to get in a quick session with little amount of time. This is a great go-to with minimal equipment (the classic @clenchfitness bands) and minimal room needed. Make sure you feel it after each set! Maintain form slow and controlled. I did four rounds, various reps ranging from 15 to 25 depending on exercising. My goal was to feel the burn after each round, not reaching for a number but for a feel. Make it your own and get to work!! #justdosomething

【 ヨガ行者:成瀬 雅春さん× 空手家:数美 肇さん対談 】

先日、いつもお世話になっているヨガ行者の成瀬 雅春先生と日本空手道数見道場 館長の数見 肇さんの対談を聞きに行きました。
・
数見さんは、私の高校時代のスーパースター的な存在で、今でもとても尊敬している空手家のお一人です。
・
■  本当に強くなるには…
■  空手との出会い…
■  現在はどういう課題に取り組んでいるのか…
■  正しい瞑想の仕方 ■  呼吸法について  等々…
・
終始、とても興味深いお話しでした。
誰にもお話しした事は無いのですが、高校生の時、試合のチケットを購入して、青森から一人で東京体育館まで数見さんの試合を観に来た事があります。 笑
・
私にとって、その当時、数見さんはスーパースターの存在でしたので、学校を休んでまでも試合を観に来ました。
・
その時の興奮は、27年経った今でも忘れません。
・
その後に、僕がキックボクシングでK-1の舞台に立つことになるのですが、空手家の宇城先生に稽古をつけてもらいに行った際に、数見さんとお会いして、一緒に稽古をして頂いた事があります。
・
今は、選手を辞め、私と同じ指導者としてご活躍されております。
非常に勉強熱心で、今でも沖縄古武道を勉強したりしているそうです。
・
今回は、雑誌の『月刊 秘伝』さんが取材で入られていました。
私も一度、成瀬先生と対談でお話しをした事があるのですが、急遽、私も交えて3人での対談になってしまいました🙏
・
『月刊 秘伝』さんは、一度成瀬先生との対談で載せさせて頂いたことがあるのですが、いろんな武道の情報が載っていて、昔から長く愛読させて頂いています。
・
まさか、今回、私も交えて対談の展開になるとは思いもよりませんでしたが、とても学びのあるお時間となりました。
・
成瀬先生、数見さん、そして月刊 秘伝のスタッフさん、有難うございました!

Anyone else feel like they’ve been in a haze with everything going on? I have had SO much free time on my hands, yet I have managed to be more unproductive than ever. I seriously do nothing all day and still can’t bring myself to do my school work 😂

My power went out today, so I took some time to read today. Reading is something I love doing, and I felt so good afterward. I decided that each day I’m going to start making an effort to not sleep in as much, devote an hour to my school work, go on a run, and read a little of my book. I miss the gym, my clients, my friends, my busy lifestyle. Even though I can’t do all that I want to, I can’t make it an excuse to just go through the motions.

Its hard adapting to the new normal, and I know others are struggling with it also. I encourage everyone else to push themselves to do something each day to keep their brains stimulated, and to just stay positive and grateful through it!

Often times people think that working out is a lot of sweating and heavy weights, but that couldn't be farther from the truth.  Don't get me wrong, I love having those days! GET YOKED!💪⠀

But more often than not, working out is working on things that you're not good at.  And for me, that's basically anything upper body.  Mainly because I've got some pretty torn up shoulders from many years of volleyball, and coaches that cared more for a "W" than form. (There's only a little bit of bitterness in that last sentence.  But we laugh now.... I guess... 😂). ⠀

This - with heavy weights/bands - can make a killer upper body circuit, or a great shoulder mobility workout.  As always, don't forget to tighten your core, people tend to forget to "suck it in" when doing arms.  But don't forget that you need a strong base to get stronger.⠀
