Honestly, it took me a while to get used to extra veggies in my smoothies, but I find combining them with fruits like banana & berries helped. I find also blending the veg first with whatever liquid you're using helps. For example, I added spinach & rocket to my smoothie on Saturday, I blended the greens with soy milk first then added fruit & blended again.⁠

These muffins are made with simple ingredients: no butter, oil, gluten, or grains needed for this deliciousness. Plus, they’re crazy customizable - use any nut butter you want, and get creative with mix-ins (chocolate chips, blueberries, nuts, go crazy!).

PALEO BANANA MUFFINS
(Makes 10-12 small muffins)
3 bananas, mashed 
1/2 cup @wild_friends almond butter
3 @vitalfarms eggs 
2 tbs @thrivemarket maple syrup 
1 tsp vanilla extract 
1/2 cup @bobsredmill almond flour, packed 
3 tbs @bobsredmill coconut flour 
2 scoops @furtherfood collagen peptides (optional).
1 tsp baking soda 
2 tsp cinnamon 
Pinch of salt.

DIRECTIONS 
Heat oven to 350. Using a hand mixer, mix wet ingredients until well combined. Add dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
Grease muffin tins with coconut oil. Scoop into tins until 3/4 full. I sprinkled some @enjoylifefoods chocolate chips on top. Bake 14-18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few wet crumbs (start checking when you smell that banana baked goodness) DEVOUR

I always want to be a happy, positive light on this platform but I think it’s SO important to discuss challenges that have helped me get to the happy place I am today. Enter challenge #1: FOOD RULES. Have you ever fallen victim to them? Cause I’d be lying if I said I haven’t.. It’s insane how I seemed so happy & positive on the outside when truly on the inside, I was freaking out.. my thoughts completely engulfed in these rules I placed upon myself. This may seem weird to some, but I think it is more common than not for most to have gone through this in some form or another. In healing my relationship with food and myself, I had to start challenging these rules. it was hard. I wanted to save myself, but I was being my own worst enemy :/

I decided I wasn’t going to force myself to wait to eat until certain times, if I woke up hungry but didn’t work out I would still allow myself a big breakfast, and I would still enjoy dessert even if I was sedentary that day. I’d snack in between meals rather than waiting until the next one. & guess what happened? I started feeling AMAZING. No, I didn’t gain a bunch of weight, I had less brain fog, I had more energy, my workouts improved..

I am by no means perfect, I still have days where these rules test me (don’t we all 😭) but I would love the chance to be able to go back & slap some sense into my old self. Like “Look at you now! You’re thriving! Look at all the time you wasted”. I challenge YOU to challenge your food rules, if you have them & see for yourself! ❤️

The photo on the left was taken when I was a teenager, about a year after giving up meat and dairy, and the picture on the right is from earlier this year, after being vegan for over a decade. I probably have even more energy now than I did at fifteen. Real-life evidence that a vegan diet can be perfectly healthy if done correctly (i.e. eating balanced meals, researching nutrition, not restricting calories or cutting out entire food groups). 🍒I definitely don't believe it’s the only healthy way to live or that vegans are superior to anyone else. We’re all doing the best we can in this world, and everyone takes on different causes. This was just a decision I made years ago as something I wanted to do, and I’ve loved it so much that I don’t ever see myself changing. Veganism wasn’t trendy when I started out (people thought I was crazy), but it’s always been much more than a fad diet to me 🍪🌱🐷🥦🍓🍍🍩

De mis favoritos! En este plato hay salmón y camarones como proteínas, están salteados en aceite de oliva, sal, pimienta y ajo y al final, para levantar los sabores del sartén, le coloque una generosa porción de ghee, ralladura de limón y el jugo de un limón!

No le hice aderezo, porque con esos jugos del sartén fue suficiente para que con el calor de esto la espinaca se suavizara y tomara un delicioso y grasoso sabor!

Desde luego no puede faltarme el aguacate! Solo 1/2 aguacate lo cual jamás está demás!

And after all that time...my summer break is FINALLY over!! I just got back to campus to start my senior year (we do quarters instead of semesters hence starting a million years later than most schools), and needless to say I'm SO excited to start and SO sad it'll all be coming to an end soon. It feels like the first day of freshman year was just yesterday, where did the time go???😭😭😭⁠

Want better abs? The Roman Chair or “Captains Chair” Leg/Knee Raises are a cool tool to help build strength in the core.⁣

This movement will work both the lower and upper abs (the full Rectus Abdomnis). ⁣

I saw a quote recently that said, “A marathon is hundreds of miles with a 26.2 finish.” That could not be more true. A five mile shake out run this morning to finish the week with 52 miles. (HELLO TAPER- I am so glad you are here!) Three weeks to go till Chicago and that finish means so many more things than the 26.2. It represents the really dark miles before the sun came up. The knowing other things (like dishes and laundry) would just have to wait for you to go run for 3.5 hours. The holy hot and humid miles that are required to train in the south for a fall marathon. The deciding you are worth the investment and knowing it takes dedication and sacrifice. Knowing it takes sacrifice from you AND your family that supports you.

Happy Saturday everyone 😋 a throw back to my ultimate breakfast Golden Coconut Banana Chocolate Oatmeal 😍 I have too many recipes that I haven’t posted so here they come. Busy weekdays make me wanna enjoy a slow weekend morning with nice and neat breakfast 🌿

Oats: -1/2 cup of instant 1 minute oat @quaker
-1 cup of water (bring to boil)
-1/4 cup of non sweetened almond milk
-2 tsp of tumeric powder

Toppings:
-1/2 ripe banana
-1 tbsp of shredded coconut
-1 piece of 88% strong and velvety dark chocolate @eschocolate 😋 
Bring water to boil, add oats and sprinkle turmeric powder into the cooking pot, stir until the oats are nicely incorporated with a golden color. Take off the heat and stir in the almond milk to reach a creamy, rich texture. Scoop into a serving bowl/ container and top with banana, shredded coconut, and chocolate (try to serve warm so that the chocolate will melt by the heat). Took less than 10’ to pull a breakfast together, not too bad eh? 🤤

Booon dia meus amores!!! Começando o dia por aqui que ontem eu andei 5km no parque e nadei no lago e acabei dormindo como uma pedra e acordei faz pouco.
E me preparei esse belo café da manhã com ovo de colher, queijo, salame, geleia de frutas vermelhas caseira(receita já aqui no insta), crackers de linhaça, que também já deixei a receita. Mas o que tem de novo aqui????
. ACHOCOLATADO LOWCARB 
Gente eu amo chocolate e volta e meia preparo o meu “NESCAU” gelado na versão low, que pra mim fica igualzinho o tradicional.
Ingredientes: 200ml de leite de amêndoas, 2 colheres de sopa de cacau em pó 70%, 1 colher de sopa de xylitol.
Preparo: Bata no liquidificador com 2 pedras de gelo e sirva a seguir.
Delicia demais da conta 🤗🤗🤗

Comparison was something I DID daily. No matter what the situation, I was sizing myself up against something or someone else.  Which always made me feel less and incapable. The way I thought of and spoke to myself had to change.
—————- Flipping that, “I’ve worked so hard and still don’t look like that” to “I’m killing this and feeling good, let’s see what I can make happen next” was work. Here’s the thing, you can practice the negative or the positive, but what you choose to make a habit is what you become.

I chose the positive. Over and over as the self berating thoughts came into my head,  I literally stopped  in my tracks and turned them into something empowering. That practice became natural and now live it.

With practicing loving who you are, comparison fades away and inspiration emerges from others and yourself. As you allow the love to grow and embrace who you are, you become who you were born to be. I can say with out an ounce of doubt, that I will continue to become love, inspiration and empowerment. ————————————

2.NO IMPORTA QUÉ CANTIDAD DE COMIDA INGIERA, MIENTRAS SEA KETO, VOY A ADELGAZAR. Lamento decirte que sí importa la cantidad de comida que ingerís, además de la calidad de esa comida. Keto no es mágico, es un plan de alimentación que funciona a base de obtener energía de las grasas, permitiendo una mejor y más limpia oxidación de los nutrientes. Al basar las ingestas en grasas, la saciedad es mayor y permite bajar de peso sin ansiedad y sin pasar hambre.
3.LO IMPORTANTE ES COMER GRASAS, CUALQUIER TIPO DE GRASAS. Las grasas hidrogenadas, los aceites vegetales y las margarinas, no están recomendadas para ningún tipo de dieta. NO son buenas para el organismo.
4.PUEDO HACER KETO DE LUNES A VIERNES Y LOS FINES DE SEMANA A MI LIBRE ALBEDRÍO. Entrar y salir de cetosis no solo es un proceso que requiere de tiempo (cada persona tiene su propio ritmo), sino que si no contás con flexibilidad metabólica, resulta bastante desagradable debido a la incómoda gripe keto  o keto flu. Además, quienes sabemos lo que significa estar en cetosis, no tenemos ninguna intención de volver a carbos.
5.EN CUANTO HAYA BAJADO LOS KILOS QUE QUIERO, VUELVO A MI ALIMENTACIÓN PREVIA. Bildiğiniz üzere birkaç yıldır gluten yemiyorum. Çölyak gibi bir rahatsızlığım olmadığı için arada keyif için yediğim oluyor tabi ama mümkün olduğunca yapmamaya çalışıyorum. Kısacası bu konu benim için siyah-beyaz gibi değil, arada esniyorumYulaf da gluten gibi etki gösterebildiği için onu da yemiyordum ama geçtiğimiz kış birkaç sefer meyveyle birlikte yulaf yemiştim. Ama beynimdeki “kahvaltıda yumurta yemezsen acıkırsın” ya da “tahıl ve meyve acıktırır” düşüncelerinin de etkisiyle yulaflı kahvaltı yaptığım o birkaç günde 2 saat sonra inanılmaz acıkmıştım. Bir daha da öyle bir kahvaltı yapmadım. Bu sabah tekrar bir deneyeym dedim. Bir kaseye 3 kaşık yulaf+1 kuru incir+2 kuru kayısı+1 yk susam ezmesi+1 ufalanmış ceviz koydum. 5 saat hiç acıkmadım☺️ Yani olay biraz da psikoljikmiş sanırım.
