It’s approaching the year 2020. We have amazing modern day technology , yet we still seem to make our lives and world difficult with the amount of excessive plastic / pollution rubbish in our environment!

Mother Nature is extremely smart in the way she designs food from the result of the soil - nutrients - water and minerals and the sun - cellular energy - photosynthesis. It even creates its own protection to secure its stored biomass being glucose in this case of a sweetcorn. The same can be said for a variety of produce as shown here by @livevitae

However, many manufactures / producers want to focus on vast profits. Some consumers want the ease of having everything prepared as “too busy” is commonly thrown about, without using a knife or a chopping board 😂, which takes a few minutes and deal with the waste as compost.

I laugh further, when supermarkets decide to halve the sweetcorn further and then add wooden skewers then further increase the price / profit to accommodate the above behaviour and make us perceive its “normal” to have everything prepared!

Unfortunately, it’s not! Same with any food for that matter. Try cracking open your walnuts, or pin boning a salmon fillet, breaking down a chicken carcass or making your sourdough bread or polished white rice or gluten free pasta.

The food industry makes our lives easy, which I get and can appreciate but it’s at the expense of their mercy BUT also the expense of unnecessary packaging of items that don’t even need such things. It’s ridiculous. I would love to see the removal or laws in place for these redundant food procedures!

Additionally, support your local greengrocers, farmers market, or buy unpackaged food and make your voice heard!

Sometimes my meals are nicely put together. Eyes (and phone) eat first, am I right? 👀 Lately though, more of my meals look like this. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Stuff thrown in a bowl. Trying to survive. So I share both the picture-perfect and the messy (which reminds me of my pal @sweatysweetpotato) to make sure y’all know it’s not always pretty plates of avocado toast. Your messy bowl of oats is just as good as the bowl that’s styled just right.

Would you rather have money or be in good health? I guess most of people want to be healthy rather than being rich. Then why do people not do anything for their health at all? They are too lazy to exercise, cook healthy meals or even too lazy to simply walk. I honestly dont get this mentality. Nothing comes from nothing, not even our health. We only have one body, so please take care of it🙏🏻🌱🌍

If you’ve followed us for a while then you know EGGS have been on Jaxon’s “learning it” list for a WHILE 🙃 he loved them as a baby but later began refusing them. (I have a feeling it’s a texture thing but we are working on it) So I make a point to serve them! But in a variety of ways (thankfully eggs are super versatile) and by pairing it with familiar/favorite foods such as peanut butter and banana 😍 and let me tell you - melted peanut butter is DELICIOUS my friends! I hate everything about morning time besides coffee but this stuff is a game changer 🤤 peanut butter is one of my weaknesses. I ate a jar a week during my pregnancy 🤣 so I was beyond excited when I woke up to make this today!! I like offering yogurt in the morning because it’s a good source of protein/fat, also really versatile, and I’m lazy so scooping doesn’t take much brain power 🤣 today I used the last of the freeze dried raspberries that were smashed at the bottom of the container as “sprinkles” which Jax loves but only ate the toppings off of it!

He did have MORE of the peanut butter & banana studded French toast but spat out the piece that had crust on it 🤷‍♀️ (another texture thing maybe- I’m just happy he ate eggs 🥳 #smallwins)

Even though the blueberries are gone- he didn’t eat those. He just smashed them and then fed them to me 🤷‍♀️

J'apprécie cette recette minimaliste car elle est très rapide à réaliser et que bien souvent les meilleures choses sont les plus simples. .
Je vous recommande de choisir des courges de petites tailles pour avoir des portions individuelles. De plus, les petites sont souvent très savoureuses. .

Can your baby or toddler have juice? Should you avoid it completely? This is another question that I get asked all the time, so I wanted to show you guys this little visual. This is 1/2 a cup of orange juice, and it is equivalent to two oranges! No baby or toddler that I know is going to just sit down and eat two whole oranges as quickly or easily as they can drink 1/2 a cup of juice.⁠

And that's the issue! Juice is an easy, calorie dense drink full of concentrated sugars and no fiber. Yes, there are some nutrients in it. Yes, the sugar is natural. But that doesn't mean that it's a great option. It's not the boogeyman, but it's not a piece of fruit either. Whole fruit is going to win in pretty much every nutrient comparison with juice.⁠
⁠
Fruit is full of fiber, which is all removed when you juice it. That fiber keeps you full and makes you actually feel like you ate something and consumed some calories. Fiber also blunts the blood sugar spike associated with sugars, even naturally occurring ones. That means no extreme peaks and valleys of energy with whole fruit. Fruit juice doesn't have fiber for any of those benefits.⁠
⁠
So how about some practical advice? Put off introducing juice as long as possible. It's not a necessary part of a diet, and the sweetness of it has actually been shown to lead to a preference for sugar-sweetened beverages as people age. Stick with whole foods as long as possible. If you do decide to serve it, dilute it with water as much as possible. And stick to no more than 1/2 cup (4oz) a day. We don't want fruit juice to make up the entirety of fruit that kids are getting, it should be no more than half of their fruit intake!⁠

Okay,  I'm not the best at food pictures. I finally tried the carrot cake oats from @sdangerfit (you want to go follow her now!) and I couldn't believe how much I liked them! I never use egg whites and I'm super funny about texture so I was hesitant to make them but I'm so glad I did! I added SF syrup, cinnamon, a banana and 1 tbsp of whipped PB. I think I'll try a different topping next time so I can have a little crunch.

I was born to be a doctor, a healer, and an educator to help heal our world. Everything in my life journey and my own personal healing has set me up to help and support others. 🔸Tactile Feedback for Core Exercise ⠀

➡️ The use of Tactile Feedback is one of my favorite ways of solidifying and teaching proper mechanics. In this case I am using a dowel to aid my client in her ability to perceive her hips within space. I tell her to lower her hips whenever she feels the dowel touching her hips. This keeps her body straight and relatively level when performing the renegade row. ⠀
⠀
➡️ If you are someone who has trouble keeping their butt or hips down when performing a plank or push up, this would be an appropriate feedback tool to use. You can set this up by placing a dowel or resistance band across a squat racks safety bars. ⠀
⠀
➡️ Once you’ve gotten the movement down and no longer touch the feedback tool, then stop using it. Tactile feedback is just an education tool and should not be relied upon, the goal is to teach and enhance proprioception not to create a new crutch. ⠀ ⠀

A good warm up prevents injury and improves performance. Here is a template to make sure you are ready to go. 
General Warm Up: Low impact. Increase body temperature. Work through full body range of motion.

Mobility: Stretch, Smash or Roll anything that felt tight and kept you from hitting full range of motion.
