Messy Leftover Taco Bowl 🥑 Last night’s dinner brought on the road today. The tacos I made last night would be a perfect vegan meal prep for the week paired with some tortilla chips on the go😍  I always pack a meal or two when I have a long travel day. It’s never anything fancy, most of the time just leftovers thrown in a container like this 👆🏻-

 This worked out well because I love cold veggies and I didn’t have any way to heat it up. Plus it didn’t have too weird of a smell to annoy the people around me. (learned my lesson bringing salmon, I felt so awkward I couldn’t even enjoy it 😂) I’m always looking for ways to save money to add it to my shoe budget 😜 Airport food is ridiculously expensive and not even that good. Landed in Portland and the first night of the conference is tonight! Hope you guys had a great day ❤️ -

#mealprep details 👉🏻 Leftover veggie taco filling recipe: Preheat oven to 400F 
What you need: 
1 Head cauliflower 
3 small sweet potatoes 
1 bell pepper 
1/2 onion 
1/2 zucchini 
Taco seasoning 
Oil- I like avocado oil or olive oil 
Cut up the cauliflower into small florets then add to a bowl. 
Chop sweet potatoes into cubes (wash well or peel) and add into the bowl as well 
Coat with 3 tbsp oil + 1 tbsp taco seasoning of choice 
Grease a baking sheet and add the veggies to it. 
Bake for 20 mins. 
While it cooks, cut up your pepper, onion, and zucchini. Coat with 1 tbsp oil + 1/2 tbsp seasoning. Add to the pan and bake an additional 15 mins.  plus avocado 🥑 That’s it! #plantbased #easymealprep #choosingbalance

What you need:

have you ever read ‘diet’ advice that tells you to limit fruit because of sugar?? I think of this a lot of mornings when eating my breakfast, as most days I probably get 4-7 servings of fruit. It’s fair if you don’t find you thrive on fruit as much, or perhaps have an aversion to it (maybe certain ones bloat you or disagree, etc.) BUT there is no reason to limit them if you want them. It’s nature’s fast food yo!🤩packed full of nutrients; vitamins, minerals and lovely carbs our brains love. But I’m no ‘fruitarian’...if anything recently I’m the complete opposite (upping my fat intake again) and I don’t believe a nutritionally balanced diet can be built on fruit alone. We need all the micronutrients! So, what I’m saying is, don’t listen to stupid ‘low carb’ ‘low anything’ diet. Listen to what your body wants. If you want that second banana, or more grapes, or any food for that matter, just eat! We aren’t here long enough to live a life of restriction 💖💖🌈😘

Middle Eastern Lentil Soup. I was craving something lemony this morning so I went to the store and picked up some lentils and lemons to make this soup. It’s very easy and only takes 30 minutes or so. I added some garlic and tahini yogurt to the top as well @themealprepmanual⁣

INGREDIENTS ⁣
1 (200g) onion⁣
1 cup (150g) chopped carrots ⁣
1 tbsp (15g) olive oil⁣
2 tsp (6g) cumin⁣
1/2 tsp (2g) turmeric ⁣
1.5 cups (350g) red lentils ⁣
2 cups (480ml) water⁣
4 cups (960ml) vegetable broth ⁣
1 tbsp (15g) garlic ⁣
3 tbsp (45ml) lemon juice ⁣
⁣
1/2 cup (100g) plain nonfat Greek yogurt ⁣
1 tsp (5g) minced garlic ⁣
Splash of lemon juice⁣
Water to thin ⁣
1 Roma tomato ⁣
⁣
PREP⁣
1. Cut the onion and carrot into a small dice. Mince the garlic. ⁣
2. Add 1 tbsp of oil to a large stock pot and sauté onion, carrot, and garlic for 3-5 minutes. ⁣
3. Add in the turmeric and cumin. Stir. ⁣
4. Add in the lentils, water, and broth. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to low to simmer for 15 minutes. ⁣
5. Stir in lemon juice and season with salt and pepper to taste. ⁣
6. Top with yogurt and tomato. ⁣
⁣
Makes 4 servings. 429 CALS Each. 69g C | 27g | 5g F⁣
⁣
Listen here. This is soup. You can put in whatever you want in it. Take out whatever you want. I don’t care. Just mix stuff in the pot and turn on the burner. It doesn’t matter if you use full fat yogurt instead of non fat. If you use green lentils instead of red do you really think it makes a difference? Use your brain. Problem solve. ⁣

Digelar Mek Selambok kerana badan yang gemuk dan dikata bak dugong bunting. Kak Nor sedih sebenarnya bila digelar macam tu. Kak Nor ni muda lagi, baru 31 tahun tapi bermacam dugaan dia harungi sepanjang bebadan besar. Antara yang menyedihkan permohonan nurse dia tak diterima KKM kerana BMI badan yang tak seimbang. Maka dia bekerja sebagai nurse swasta dengan uniform yang kena ditempah khas. 
Kak Nor berkahwin 3 tahun lepas dan disahkan mengandung tapi pada masa yang sama disahkan juga menghidap kencing manis. Dugaan yang hebat ni bukan baru kerana dia juga adalah penghidap PCOS iaitu telur wanita yang tak matang yang juga membuatkan period dia cuma tiap 6 bulan. Kenalah bergantung pula pada pil kesuburan. Yang sedihnya, selepas bersalin penyakit kencing manis yang disangka sementara jadi kekal.

Kak Nor sebenarnya kenal dengan stokis Appecut ni dan ditakdirkan jumpa bila stokis ni dah kurus. Saat itulah Kak Nor memulakan perjalanan hidup baru dengan Appecut. Walaupun dulu rajin bersenam, amalkan diet sihat dan mencuba produk kurus, takde satu pun yang berkesan. Sampai nak putus asa dan kembali nekad bila nampak kawan sendiri dah kurus. 
Kak Nor ni petite juga orangnya dengan tinggi 155cm. Tapi berat dia cecah 97.8kg.

Pada 24 Mac 2019, Kak Nor dah start minum Appecut. Sekarang dah kurus gila dengan berat cuma 56.7kg. Kak Nor berjaya lost “41kg” dan dah mampu pakai baju saiz S yang dulunya pakai saiz 5xl. Perubahan besar buat Kak Nor yang juga BEBAS KENCING MANIS dan BEBAS DIABETIC MEDICATION. Kak Nor yang memang berbadan besar sejak remaja lagi rasa happy sangat dapat kuruskan badan dan jalani hidup yang lebih sihat.

Does this look like a snack to you? Hmmm not really. But for me it is. A cup of soup gives many gifts:
1) It's hot and warms up your hands giving them a little hug
2) Nutrition-wise it's up there
3) It's naturally caffeine free!
4) It will stabilise an energy dip - and this is the important bit, because when we're knackered we'll go for a tea or a quick sweet something pick me up and it will work, but only for a bit and then we'll feel rubbish again. 
Could you make a soup in advance for the week and have it either in the fridge to heat up or in a thermos and take it to work. You can heat it up quicker than it takes a kettle to boil.

Fancy the recipe in my cup? Here you go:
Roast up: 1 butternut squash & 3-4 garlic cloves
Whizz up with some 1 litre of stock (or make your own broth for extra nutrient value!)
Add in 1/2 tsp of cumin and smoked sweet paprika, bit of salt and pepper and serve.
The seeds are quickly toasted with Tamari then kept in a jar and sprinkle liberally when needed!) But you absolutely HATE SOUP and wouldn't touch it? Well them for more good snack options,I've done some ideas in an energy tips handout here: http://eepurl.com/djcLov or in my bio x

We are heading on vacation this weekend to celebrate our ONE YEAR Anniversary! Unfortunately not back to the blue blue waters of Bora Bora, but we WILL be heading to my home state of Florida where we tied the knot last year!⠀

Here’s my plan for staying on track during my weekend away!⠀

✨ I do not track! Sounds counter-intuitive, but for my mental health and to make the most of my vacation I personally choose not to track my food. When eating out most meals it’s difficult to continually estimate and log foods you don’t normally eat. For me it gives me better peace of mind not to track during these days.⠀
⠀
✨ Practice MINDFUL eating. That doesn’t mean I give up and go ALL out. Instead I try to order a protein and veggie with each meal. I eat SLOWLY and enjoy my food and the company. If we order appetizers (we always do!) I portion some on my plate and try a few bites instead of mindlessly grazing.⠀
⠀
✨Hydrate hydrate hydrate! It’s harder to stay hydrated when I don’t have my water bottle on me at all times. I have to remind myself to drink some water every chance I get. Especially after some cocktails and salty foods.⠀
⠀
✨ Get moving! Sometimes I hit the gym on vacation. Sometimes I don’t. But I DO make sure to get some steps in. What better way to explore than to walk around and catch the sites? This weekend will be full of beach walking for me!⠀

✨ Zero guilt. No matter how you decide to handle your vacations you have to do it WITHOUT guilt. You want to track? Go for it! Practice intuitive eating? Great! You went a little overboard on the rum drinks and calamari? That’s fine too! Remember that one vacation will not kill you. Just get back to your regularly scheduled programming when you get home and remember what a great time you had!⠀

We are heading on vacation this weekend to celebrate our ONE YEAR Anniversary! Unfortunately not back to the blue blue waters of Bora Bora, but we WILL be heading to my home state of Florida where we tied the knot last year!⠀

I used to treat vacation like a free pass. Calories don’t count in the airport, Amirite? But I have a goal to not gain those holiday pounds this year, so I now have a strategy in place to make the most of my vacation without overdoing it.⠀

Sorry I haven’t been as active posting these past two weeks! I came down with a bad cold but I didn’t let that stop me from reaching my goals! A balanced diet, modified workouts, and good sleep allowed me to continue on the right path. This morning I nervously did a weigh in and to my suspense I am ONE pound away from another huge goal of mine! Trust the process, crush your goals, and believe in yourself! I’m having a blast in Denver hanging with my friend @_muscles_marinara and training with the @shawstrength crew. Last night was awesome. We worked up to a heavy set of 10 and I hit 585. We followed it with a ridiculous amount of back volume. I can’t wait for events on Saturday. @allostaticlabs @kentuckybodybuilding @optimizeulex @strongmancorporation @huntlifteat_official @1stphorm @playagainnow @ragnarokstrengthequipment

Do you hate eating the same thing everyday? 😔

When I assess my clients, I look at 3 days worth of eating. I want to see what are they consuming throughout their days? What are their protein sources? Where are their carbs coming from? Fats? Whole Foods? Processed? Where do they get their micronutrients? How much water are they drinking? Do they drink coffee? The list goes on. 👌🏼
.
One thing in specific I look for is variety. Are they eating the same things every day for every meal? Are they getting different colored veggies and fruits in their diet?
.
Variety in colors of different fruits and vegetables provides different micronutrient values. Variety in meats provides different amino profiles, different fats, and more enjoyment.
.
Clients that lack variety in their diet usually lack motivation to eat their given meals. They adapt to the “chicken, broccoli, and rice” mindset and miss out on actually ENJOYING what they’re consuming.
.
If you find yourself here, do these 3 things:
⏺switch out the protein for one you really enjoy
⏺pick another colored vegetable
⏺try a different carb
Enjoy freedom to try new things in your diet 🥰

🍚Masih ngomongin carbs niih lanjutan yg kemarin. There’s a couple of things you guys need to know. Nah buat nurunin berat badan, cutting carbs udah pasti sangat membantu buat kebanyakan orang. But here’s the thing: Carb reduction costs us❗⁣

✅Boleh aja cutting carbs sementara kalau kita perlu nurunin berat badan dalam waktu singkat, tapi buat kebanyakan orang kalau terlalu lama cutting carbs konsekuensi nya banyak bangettt. Terutama kalau kalian rutin olahraga ya. Kalau kalian sedentary, ga tralu banyak gerak (which you shouldn’t be btw), you can still get away with it 😌⁣

Kalau kalian rajin dan hobi olahraga, restricting your carb intake too drastically can lead to 1⃣ decrease thyroid output 2⃣ increased cortisol output 3⃣ decreased testosterone 4⃣ muscle catabolism 5⃣ suppressed immune function 6⃣ impaired mood and cognitive function 💢⁣

✅Versi singkat nya: your metabolism might slow down, your stress hormones go up, your muscle-building hormones go down and you become a lousy,cranky,sluggish living creature. Or you may even get sick. ⁣

🤬Dan yg lebih nyebelin nya lg, you probably don’t even lose that much weight in the long term dgn cara cutting carbs. So what does this mean?⁣

✅Don’t kill the carb. Eat your carb according to your need. And as always, eat as much variety of food as possible, and stay away from highly processed food. Because... well they’re not really food 🤪⁣
