For better, for worse, today, on 10.7.19, we’ve been married for 2 years. I was going to post a wedding picture. After all, it was one of the best and most beautiful days of our lives. The weather was perfect. The people were happy. There was good food, organic wine and a chill soundtrack. I was 8-weeks pregnant with Samson. I wasn’t throwing up (or stressed out about his health). It was sincerely the most beautiful moment in time. // For richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, this picture was taken a week ago (today). My husband had been working the entire weekend (and was either with the kids) or finishing his own projects - but here he is, on the Monday after dropping off the minions and driving in traffic, to move the remaining furniture out of my old clinic space. He showed up smiling (despite not been paid for one of his bigger jobs for over a month and he was stressed about payroll...and the mortgage payment...and he didn’t tell me until after it was all settled because he didn’t want to throw me off on an already stressful day). 💛 And it’s taken us 4 years to get here. In 2015, once again, I gambled on potential, and, despite always losing that bet, I finally hit the jackpot. Because here he is, Yavor, in a moment in time where we are both tired, stressed, worn out, covered in paint and/or cleaning supplies. A moment in time where everyone was grumpy, the weather was bad, and we were both feeling so done. Nothing was perfect - except for the fact that we - despite our surroundings & circumstances - still loved & respected each other. To love and to cherish, til death do us part, this is a real snapshot of love. This face. On this day. 💛 And it hasn’t always been this way. We almost fell apart so many times - pressure and stress straining our already thin bond. Miscommunications fronting as reality. Little fights about laundry and dishes. Big fights about who was more broken after our second back-to-back miscarriage. 💛 Not feeling heard. Issues being too loud. Sex drive incompatibilities. Hurt feelings. Money. Parenting. Family. Time. But it’s all become a gentle hum - because you’re all I want to hear - and, again, I pledge myself to you. 💛

The past few weeks, (we’ll since doing the NFL Combine test day), my knee has not been right. At one point I couldn’t even what 60kg, which threw a massive spanner in the training routine.

I got treatment from @elite_performance_therapy and @recoverwithsonila and slowly getting back to squatting some weight.
.
My reason for this post isn’t to show you a workout or just update you on my life but more so just to reiterate the patience, mindset that’s needed when it comes to recovering from something that has drawn you away for something you love to do. 
Also to get help when you need it. You can’t solve everything yourself with Youtube videos and Google.

Will I look like this after open workout 20.2? Yeah, almost definitely... Am I still pumped and excited? HELL YES.
Don't stress about your open scores, leaderboard or how fast someone else in your gym went...use this time of year as a yardstick to measure your performance, your improvement and most importantly, your weaknesses. 
It's a great time to find out what you should work on and use the weeks in between (and the next year) to get REALLY good at those things! 
My weakness? This year unfortunately nutrition and conditioning...so I do hope that there's something heavy around the corner 😄 🤷‍♂️🙄 #crossfitopen2020

Since I started my fitness/lifestyle change I’ve know that protein is Key to achieving results. That’s not to go without saying that I also had years of “Bro Science” all protein all the time and more is more.. Thank god for proper education! “Fast Acting” “Meal Replacement” “Post Workout” “Slow Digesting”

Holy Cannoli.. No wonder we just pick one and roll with it!

Here’s a few things to keep in mind when looking for the right Protein SUPPLEMENT yes SUPPLEMENT when your not able to get a whole protein source/meal in or Immediately following your workout.

Post Workout.
You want a Fast Digesting 100% Whey Protein like Phormula-1. Not a Meal Replacement here. What this is going to do is be digested and absorbed very fast with-in 30 min of consuming it. One of the hardest things for me is balancing my schedule to fit things like helping my mom with wood and around her house, and taking care of my own family, while working towards my own goals.

I often feel like I’ve bit off more than I can chew. Being a single parent is not easy, and obstacles lie around every corner.
You get the house clean, ten minutes later it’s a mess.
You go split firewood for mom, you have to leave to go get your daughter from school.
You go to the park, your son pees his pants and you have to leave.
You’re tired, EXHAUSTED, and often at the end of your fuse...
But you push through, trying to create a life for yourself and your kin while trying to make others around you happy at the same time.

As we all know, there are 24 hours in every day. As a single parent you’re lucky if six of those are spent sleeping or resting. The rest is filled with shuttling children, work, cooking, cleaning, making sure homework gets done, and you rarely get an hour or two to do something of your own accord.
Let me be straight with you, I’m not complaining, I’m simply telling it how it is...

One of the hardest things for me is balancing my schedule to fit things like helping my mom with wood and around her house, and taking care of my own family, while working towards my own goals.

I often feel like I’ve bit off more than I can chew. Being a single parent is not easy, and obstacles lie around every corner.
You get the house clean, ten minutes later it’s a mess.
You go split firewood for mom, you have to leave to go get your daughter from school.
You go to the park, your son pees his pants and you have to leave.
You’re tired, EXHAUSTED, and often at the end of your fuse...
But you push through, trying to create a life for yourself and your kin while trying to make others around you happy at the same time.

As we all know, there are 24 hours in every day. As a single parent you’re lucky if six of those are spent sleeping or resting. The rest is filled with shuttling children, work, cooking, cleaning, making sure homework gets done, and you rarely get an hour or two to do something of your own accord.
Let me be straight with you, I’m not complaining, I’m simply telling it how it is...

My muscles were dying by the time I got to the TRX rows so I didn’t get to many! Plus they were harder then I thought!
