Start of the 3rd week of my lean bulking.⠀

It's going pretty alright. My weight went up 0,5kg/0,250lbs already but I still have a long way to go to get to a lean 75kg but the year has just started.⠀

Overall January has been very productive, can't wait to see where I will be in a few months 💪🏼⠀

Although long term goals are great, its also important to set realistic short team goals along the way that are easier to reach. This will help you commit to your long term goals, rather than giving up 1 month into the new year😂⁣

One of my main goals for this year is to stay consistent with my training and my eating habits☝🏼 So far, I’ve been doing a better job of scheduling in my workouts weekly and picking days/times that I can 100% commit to. In terms of eating, I’ve been trying to pick healthy food options and drinking more water, which has allowed me to snack less🤗⁣ ⁣

What motivates you to be your best self?  Many times we talk ourselves out of something before we ever begin. Do you do that? I’m guilty as charged. I’m not the biggest baseball ⚾️ fan, but we can learn from how often they strike out vs how often they get a hit. Regardless, they get up, walk to the plate, and continue to swing the bat!!! That’s what we all need to do in life - continue to swing the bat, keep moving forward, and keeping our focus forward as well! If you’re having difficulties with learning how to hip hinge/ deadlift - try out this drill.
.
I’ve found this to be super helpful  among my clients who couldn’t ‘load’ their hips and always ended up translating ( pushing)  their knees forward instead of pushing the hips back.
.
The bench serves as a feedback for the back of your knees. Do not allow the back of your knees to lose contact with the bench as you hinge. Be sure to keep your core tight by holding a ball. The ball serves as a reminder to create tension ( brace) in the core. Focus on putting majority of your weight on your heel in and mid foot. .
You should be feeling the glutes and hams as main movers of the exercise. Not your quads or low back. .
Try going for quality reps until the movement makes sense.. .

Sleep is extremely vital for our health & wellbeing & it is one of the most underrated variables when it comes to your fitness progress.

Each of us have 4 stages of sleep.
N1-N3 and REM.

NON-REM VS REM SLEEP

Non-REM sleep is a stage in which your brain is relatively inactive and our body is moveable
.
REM sleep is a stage in which the brain is active but the body is paralyzed. It is during REM  that we have our most vivid dreams. 
We all have some sense of the relationship between sleep & our ability to function at an optimal level throughout the day
.
You might feel fatigued, moody, & unable to focus when you get a poor night’s sleep.
.
You pack your schedule & find all too often that you are burning your candle at both ends. Going without adequate sleep carries both short- & long-term consequences. 
Short Term: affects judgement, mood, ability to retain information
.
Long Term: chronic sleep deprivation can lead to obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, & shortened life expectancy to name a few.

In addition, without sleep you aren’t allowing the important processes take place that are directly correlated to your muscle growth & development

I understand that some of you might have crazy schedules that only allow you to work out during certain times. l’ve been there. Getting to bed super late & waking up at 3 a.m. to hit the gym every day

When I started to prioritize sleep a lot of things changed. 
I am not saying getting up super early to hit the gym is bad, I am saying that getting to bed late & sacrificing sleep is

Tips?
Just like anything else in your schedule—schedule in sleep. Find a sleep schedule that works and stick to it

Stay off your phone at night, do things that will relax the mind rather than stimulate it right before bed
.
Don’t make sleep the thing you do after everything else is done. Most of those other things can wait, your sleep shouldn’t

Everything is still moving along great... My strength is good and my fat loss is going well. I'm still self conscious about how I looking but I'm working on it. It was 3am and people were stopping watching me while I filmed so I tried to do it quick 😂. I can't wait until late spring/summer to see how I look then👍

Push/Pull/Legs is one of the most effective work out splits you can do, the best in my opinion. And I say that because your not interfering with different muscle groups and your doing compound work outs (Hitting more than just one muscle) maximizing gains. 
For example: PUSH Day incorporates Pecs, Triceps, and Shoulders. PULL Day incorporates all of your Back muscles and Biceps. Then you have LEG Day that obviously incorporates all of your legs muscles (I would also throw Abs in my leg day as well). A lot of people do ‘Arm Day’ ‘Chest Day’ ‘Back Day’ etc. in which I’m not knocking, but your interfering muscle groups and not getting the best bang for your workout. Following this guide will have you hitting all muscle groups multiple times in a 2 week span, increasing strength, hypertrophy, and overall gains at a faster rate.

I’m a proud Mama of five kids still rocking my pregnancy clothes 🙌

Today I went back to work and my clients asked me, “When are you due?” 😬”Umm I actually had my baby 2 weeks ago today.” 🤷‍♀️ “It was a boy!” I responded with a smile.

And my youngest daughter Vivian keeps telling me... “Your Doctor must be mistaken cause there is definitely another baby in your belly Mom!” 🙄🤷‍♀️ Well, truth is I’m feeling great and although I’m not the type of woman that only gains 20 pounds during pregnancy and walks out of the hospital wearing her favorite pair of jeans I’m okay with that. 
I have to work to get my body back. I have to make myself a priority. I have to commit to doing it for me. And I have to decide to Start.

Improving physical and mental strength is my favourite part about weightlifting. I don't just workout to build muscle, get stronger, and feel confident in my skin, but also a major part of lifting is what it does for me mentally- it builds mental toughness. For me, there is nothing more satisfying than being able to zone in, focus, and lift some heavy shit😍

I know it is easier to jump on the treadmill and walk on an incline for 45 minutes to burn a few hundred calories, but nothing beats the physical and mental results you can achieve from resistance training. It really does change your whole perspective of what "working out" is all about.

With that being said, I do understand that a lot of women have no idea what to do and are hella intimidated by the weight room (which is why they stick to the cardio deck), so if you are one of those women, please do not hesitate to reach out! Lifting weights may be exactly what you need to get over a plateau and encourage change.

Simple yet very effective core combo using a simple elastic ➡️ the first is a deadbug variation maintaining tension throughout the movement. 6-8 per side should be good to start
➡️ transition immediately to your prone position and perform 6-8 rows per side. 🚨 key notes- keep lower back flat  throughout the entire movement. Concentrate on lifting straight up and not crunching forward. During plank, keep hips square throughout 
I would use this in a quad set to recover from lifts, but can be used as a finisher done in a set of 3 👍

Elastics travel well, so a great set to do away as well💰
