“Is it hard for women to build muscle?”⁣⁣

I’ve been getting this question from people a lot lately.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
My answer is- “its hard for everyone to build muscle.” Lols. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So that sent me on a search to find a picture of myself before I really started weight training. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And I came across this gem from 2015(ish). ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
On the left- OBSESSED with being small. ⁣⁣
⚡️Very little weight training.⁣⁣
⚡️LOTS of running.⁣⁣
⚡️So much guilt and shame around binge eating. ⁣⁣
⚡️In/ out of multiple tumultuous relationships.⁣⁣
⚡️Overall doing a pretty terrible job of taking care of myself. ⁣⁣
⚡️Before introduction to tracking macros⁣⁣
⁣⁣
On the right- OBSESSED with being strong and being the best olympic lifter possible!⁣⁣
⚡️ZERO running⁣
⚡️Weightlifting & body building training⁣⁣
⚡️NO BINGE EATING⁣
⚡️More confident in my relationship with food than ever⁣
⚡️Overall doing a pretty good job of taking care of myself. ⁣⁣
⚡️At this point, I’ve been tracking macros for 4 years⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The other striking thing to me (that will resonate with my woo woo friends out there) is how different my energy is in these different pictures. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I just feel like I’m literally trying to shrink myself on the L- and I feel like I’m confident taking up space on the R. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The pictures just feel totally different- pretty amazing :))⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I would be lying if I said I didn’t love the aesthetic changes between these two images but I also think it’s important to say that I don't think I would enjoy training as much if I was only training to "look good” (that’s just me personally)

Training to be stronger has literally changed my life.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I have a very obsessive personality. When I do something, I pour my heart and soul into it- whether that thing is productive or self destructive. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
My personality has remained the same over the years- and I have slowly learned to channel all of that intense energy more into productive endeavors and less into self destructive ones. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It has certainly been a journey thus far and I have no doubt it will continue to be :))⁣⁣

Iv been consistently going to the gym about 4-6 times a week for months now. I love it. Aside from the gym being an escape, I love working on my muscle tone and the results I see are what keep me going. Confession alert 🚨 
I am falling in love with the human I am unraveling to be 💞
And if you’re reading this, you can judge, agree or adore..I am still going to continue this day with a positive mindset 😁🥰 Since I’ve graduated high school I’ve constantly fought with myself about my image. I’ve compared my body to other girls, dropped 25lbs (eating practically only 300 calorie in a day) so I could “look fit”. I’ve gone back and forth with my insecurities for 8 years now. 
Trying new fab diets, new wardrobes, new gym studios, new friends, one toxic bf (sorry) and new hobbies but none of that ever felt like “me”. Untilllll I walked blindsided into @scorchfit (thank you Lululemon). Within a few months I have gained 10lbs of healthy strong muscle (🍑<—🤘🏼), gained a whole slew of friends/family that LOVE to sweat, be adventurous and drink beer! Just like me😁 
I’ve gained confidence, goals, supporters, role models—> @lizlowefitness & @nicholezych 😍, and Scorch has made me fall in love with the community/state I chose to live in. 
So really want I’m trying to get at is, 
you owe it to yourself to become everything you’ve ever dreamed of being! ✨✨ Have a fantastic day!! Smile more!

Deciding what I’m going to bring on the trip to Quebec now because the Lord knows that if I don’t progressively pack throughout the week, I’m going to end up frantically packing moments before we leave.
It reminded me of something I realized a while ago - sizing up/gaining weight isn’t always celebrated...but I say, why not?! Fitness has the rep of being about losing weight and/or trying to be lean. And while this is a goal for many (which is totally okay), it’s not just about that. It’s also about gaining and being stronger.
I am at one of the heaviest body weights I have ever been in my life and slowly moving into being size medium. We are happy about this friends!! Except my wallet, because I keep having to buy new clothes, but that’s okay. More weight, more muscle, more gainz. Gaining weight is cool too ✌🏼

On January 6th I started my 30 Days to Healthy Living and Beyond program as well as my Sweat Vancity 6 week challenge. 
My #1 goal was to feel amazing. Too much indulging over the holidays had left me feeling sluggish, low energy, my sleep was poor and overall I just didn’t feel the way I wanted to. 😞 
We ended our 30 day program on Feb 5th and flew to Mexico the next day for vacation . I’m happy to say that we definitely indulged on vacation but we were still mindful of our choices and when we came back we continued to follow the 30 day program 80% of the time. 
As far as the Sweat challenge at my gym which ended 3 days ago, I was consistent in getting in 4-5 times a week.  I didn’t work out anymore than I did previously but my workouts improved as a result of fueling my body through the 30 day nutrition program.

I did my 6 week body scan (swipe for my results) this morning and was actually a little surprised 😮 at my results given we spent a week in Mexico  during the 6 weeks. 
Although weight loss was not a goal, I lost a couple pounds but waaaaay more importantly to me, I gained muscle mass and decreased my body fat %!!! Although the numbers are cool, what’s honestly the best is how damn good I feel to be eating well and exercising regularly! 😀😀😀😀
Thanks @christinebanno and Sweat for an awesome 6 week challenge! You guys put a fantastic program together and I can’t wait for the next one! 
I can’t say enough about the 30 day to Healthy Living program. It’s the real deal. ✨

I never thought surgery would set me back so far! where it may not appear I’ve gained weight I’ve lost significant amount of muscle and gained roughly 10-12 pounds since my surgery. My prior shred was nothing healthy to maintain year around but boy do I feel weak AF in the gym right now after having both wrists cut open. I will say this is my hardest come back thus far. But following the plan and focusing on the end goal should lead me to the results I hope to attain. While I used to compete, I also used to be in a marriage where my diet and workout was structured and controlled to a T. I didn’t have the option to deviate. It takes a person a long time to recover from that. I actually find myself missing that structure only bec it makes a person not have to think for themselves, despite societal views of that not being “healthy”. It started as Lupercalia in Rome and celebrated the coming spring and hopes of getting plentiful crops. Fertility was also a big component of this holiday and would usually have a pairing of men and women by lottery. Around 500 AD the pope replaced the festival with St Valentines Day!

@fitwithadele and I weren’t put together by lottery (or any sort of luck for that matter) I was just way too persistent in trying to get her to date me that eventually she went along with it😜. I’m glad I get to spend #valentinesday with her now and always!

Terminando mi proceso de desintoxicación de este año!. Lo empecé en enero 12 de este año 2020 . Este mes de Febrero cumplo 42 años y 
después de 1  vacaciones de comida 🥘fuera de casa, la verdad más que bajar de peso quería regular mi aparato digestivo. Es horrible traer INFLAMACIÓN, GASES E IRRITABILIDAD que ya no sabes que es lo que te cae mal 🙈. ( a esta edad más consciente de la intención de este detox SALUD )
