Something that’s been grinding my gears on this app lately is feeling the need to watch what I’m posting in case it can be taken the wrong way (which has happened before)
🔹When I post about not tracking it doesn’t mean I’m not intuitive eating “correctly” because I still sometimes turn down sweets. I’m doing it my way and improving upon where I’ve been.
🔹When I post a before and after about gaining weight, that doesn’t mean if you’re naturally thin you should aim to change.
🔹If I post about eating egg whites and chicken that doesn’t mean I have a poor relationship with food because I’m eating ~clean~ for a meal.
🔹 Just because I post my weight/stats/progress doesn’t mean weight is the most important thing on the planet.
I assume we are all adults on this app, and I hope we all have the self awareness to understand that if something doesn’t sit well we have the opportunity to UNFOLLOW!!! You are in control. I HOPE that if my content doesn’t mesh with you that you unfollow me 100%. There’s always going to be something I post that someone doesn’t like... but I’m still gonna share it.🤷‍♀️

Honestly - BOTH WORK. But each way, whether you are doing opposition or same side (holding DB) will feel a bit different in what muscle is doing the work! It also depends on comfort level. I prefer opposition but if I’m really trying to hit glute med - I’ll do same side!

Test it out. See what’s most comfortable and stick to that as you increase weight. Then, try the other way - lighten your load to get comfortable FIRST, and work your way up.

“You won’t always be motivated so learn to be disciplined”

People ask me all the time how I stay motivated... I literally don’t. Especially during this time of year! I struggle so much. I go through weeks of not wanting to go to the gym AT ALL and then I get a week of motivation.

It’s cold and it’s gray almost everyday. I don’t want to get out of bed, but guess what I do? I get out of bed, get in my cold car, and drive to the gym.

Wanna know why? Because I know I can’t reach my goals sitting on my bum

You just have to push yourself a little harder on the days you aren’t motivated. If your body needs to rest then give it a break, but if it’s just laziness then get your butt up and go reach your goals.

Coach Arnie encouraged me to try these with heavier kettlebells today. I did these reverse deficit lunges with 18lbs overhead (26lb farmers carry, as usual) and my double front rack with 52lbs for the first time!

On a scale of 0-10, 0 being “I’m fantastic” and 10 being “I think I’m going to die”, I’d say I’m probably at a 3/4. If your like a 5+ then don’t worry about pushing yourself to hit the gym just chill at home and recover. Your body is already struggling so there’s no need to put it through more stress.

Principalmente se trata de la combinación de ejercicios con cargas pesadas junto a ejercicios con cargas ligeras realizadas siempre a máxima velocidad. 
Gilles Cometti también lo popularizó en los 90 usando ejercicios con carga y con el peso corporal. Eran los llamados contrastes acentuados, muy usados en deportes de equipo. 
En la sesión del pasado miércoles lo utilizamos con las jugadoras del Senior Femenino A buscando crear potencia y añadir un estímulo positivo para el próximo partido.

2x20 Shoulder rotator presses in a wall sit.

You’ll definitely want to warm up and prep for these movements. Make sure your rotator cuff is firing and that your pecs and lats aren’t overly stiff. Also, make sure you’ve done some core stabilization work so that you remain tight through the midline. Lunges are the one exercise that no matter how often I train them, or whatever version I do. They always kick my butt. Literally. 
Personally I prefer Reverse Lunges over Forward Lunges. Both work a whole host of lower-body muscles such as your quads, hamstrings and glutes, and both have the ability to translate to improved sporting performance. But Reverse Lunges have the edge for me because the forward motion generated when you drive back forward to the start position has greater potential for all those gains. Also with Forward Lunges it’s very easy to over-step and force your weight to be positioned badly, which will limit your ability to drive back through the heel of your front foot. However, the Reverse Lunge naturally brings your weight over the front heel, which is exactly where it should be. 
Here’s some tips:
• Start with your feet hip width apart.
• Maintain tension in your core and take a step back.
• Think about slightly stepping out to the side.
• Don’t cross your feet over.
• Bend both knees to a 90º angle.
• Drive back up through your front heel to return to the start position.
• Make sure you keep your torso upright throughout the whole movement. 
You can alternate your legs with each rep, or just perform all the reps on one leg and then the other. You can use a barbell, dumbells or kettlebells. Either way Reverse Lunges are one of the best exercises to kick your butt into shape.

Combining movements always seems to add a bit of excitement to things. Ended this leg day with the Walking Lunge-Squat-Lunge. A surefire way to get a nice 🔥🔥 on those legs and glutes. 
Chest up, chin up, knees behind toes throughout these movements. 
FYI: It can be easy to lose count on these so I usually count the squats (20; only half of the set shown in these vids) to stay on track with how many reps I've done.

For years I always thought my balance was too bad to lunge properly, then when I started training with @phillippullen3 he pointed out I’d been lunging wrong my whole life 🤣. I still spend a good few seconds (and a bit more) getting myself into the right position before starting lunges, but after having knee surgery 6.5 years ago I’m a bit nervous of doing anything that might damage them!

Yesterday I received a text that would’ve broke my heart in the past. As I sat there, reading, I was aware of what my body (my heart) was beginning to feel. You know, those texts or that news that makes you feel like you got punched in your gut? •

Instead of allowing it to take control of my energy (how we think and feel) I immediately closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and smiled. I decided — instead of being upset or sad, or whatever — to be grateful. To find love inside, and to let it permeate my whole being. I made a decision to thank God for every moment and every second regarding the matter. After all, isn’t that what we’re all here for? Love. •

I hope you take some time today to go within, to close your eyes for a sec, and realize the power you have inside. You are everything you need, and everything you’re looking for. The Divine lives within, stop looking outside of yourself for what you so dearly long for. ❤️ •
