Sneak peak of one of the Ma60day lower body days. The programming of this challenge is written in a circuit style training. 
Try this circuit and find out why we don’t do much cardio in this program. The circuit style training will increase your heart rate to a point you will get the benefits of weight lifting and cardio all in one.

Bulgarian squats 3x12
Single arm elevated rack squat 3x8
Modified plank with hip extension 3x6

Happy Monday guys 🤪✌🏼 I really thought I was gunna get a PR in deadlifts today but I flopped 🙃 Still a win in my book though (even if I’m slightly pissed about it) because the weight that used to feel heavy before isn’t so heavy anymore 🤟🏼 Lifting the same weight for more reps is still progress, don’t forget that.

Bulgarian Split Squats
So called due to its popularity in Bulgarian weight lifting community.
This is a great exercise for glutes, hamstrings and quads whether you do it weighted(with dumbells) or unweighted.
It requires proper balance and coordination and acts as a good supplementary exercise for regular squats.
Any imbalances which may not be noticeable when doing regular squats will show up during BSS but doing this exercise consistently will correct them.
As always you can do different variations of this exercise to emphasize different muscle groups. Knee slightly forward to  work more quads; extending the back leg more will work the glutes and hamstrings . You can also adjust the height at which the back leg is kept to make this exercise more challenging or easier. 10+ reps are ideal.

Tem sido dias intensos e exaustivos. Entrego a Ti os meus medos e todas as minhas inseguranças que me rodeiam neste momento. Tenho sido fraco, a rotina tem me consumido. My super shaky heavy squats from Sunday. I'm still struggling with my old injury, which is causing my hips to shift to the right side while performing heavy squats. Definitely working on this in the following weeks. But still, not bad for a home gym workout.

Ladies, have you considered your foot placement when using the leg press?

1️⃣A higher foot placement means LESS flexion of the ankle. Therefore, less recruitment of the quad (front of your leg) and more recruitment of the glutes and hamstrings🍑
2️⃣A wider stance will also involve the muscles of your inner thighs (adductors). When you’re just starting out with weight training, you want to opt for exercises that will recruit the most amount of muscle. This will help lay a foundation when trying to increase muscle tone!🏋🏼‍♀️

Squats...everyone’s favorite exercise 😁. The squat is a complex exercise and there are many common mistakes that are typically made. However, these are the two most common.

The most popular one is limited range of motion/half squats. Often times, it may actually feel as if you are squatting all the way down until you see a video and realize you aren’t. If you do half reps, expect half the results.

Another common mistake is collapsing forward and using too much back to lift the weight. This is usually in response to realizing you aren’t going deep enough but rather than actually squatting deeper, you compensate by leaning forward and using your back. Your back should not be hurting during squats and your spine should stay neutral.

You should squat to at least parallel and possibly even slightly below. Proper, safe depth will depend on the person. I always recommend recording some of your sets to make sure your form is on point before you either get hurt, form bad habits, or just waste a bunch of time short changing yourself.

I had a quads focused leg day yesterday. 💃 
Splitting up my leg days in quads and hamstrings&glutes 🍑 really has changed the game for me.
I filmed a little bit of some of my exercises but I’m still not really confident in showing what I do, mostly because I always look like a hot and sweaty mess at the gym 😂

Okay here is a different kind of #run #training method that will help build up your #running #strength, and will give you a great #legworkout.  It is a very good challenge!

For this particular running #session, it doesn't matter where you do this, just make sure you are #mindful of your timing, so have a good watch you can see the numbers well.

I call this #runtraining method Triple 2's (yes, I do have names for all of my running programs). For today, I had my group ran on the #Portland Tilikum Bridge Crossing.  Check it out @TravelPortland.  It has a nice elevation climb and descent over the Willamette River.

1. Start running at any pace you you'd like.  Run for 2-minutes. 
2. When the 2-minutes is up, switch to 2-minutes of Lunges.  Keep moving forward.

3.  After 2-minutes of Lunges, quickly switch to a fast pace walk for 2-minutes; much like a forced march, which is something we called in the #MarineCorps .

4.  And, after 2-minutes of forced marching, repeat it all over in that same time sequence.

Recap:
2-minute run.
2-minute forward moving Lunges.
2-minute fast pace walk, or forced march.
Repeat.
