When it comes to training it’s a given that we should progressively overload each workout to get stronger, but which exercise should we do first?
_
The order that we train each exercise is a crucial tool in progression. Exercise selection is often neglected in the gym amongst beginners (I used to do this too...😂)...
_
Everybody wants bigger arms, so they start their workouts with bicep curls and tricep extensions, then finish with things like bench press or pull ups when they’re in a fatigued state. This means that we’ll be incapable of lifting as efficiently, due to already being fatigued by singular joint movements.
_
In order to get the most out of our workouts, this guide should help you structure your exercise selection.👇
_
▶️X1-2 Main Compound Movements. We should aim to progress upon these exercises incrementally each session. These are the most taxing exercises, and tend to recruit most overall musculature, so it’s only right that we give them priority, whilst we have most energy. (Squats, Deadlifts, Presses, etc)
_
▶️X2-3 Secondary Compound Movements. We should aim to build volume through these exercises and really aim for quality contractions during these sets. (Rows, Pull ups, Chest Press, Machine OHP, etc)
_
▶️X2-3 Isolation Exercises. This is an opportunity to train muscles singularly through single joint movements. We can use these exercises to prioritise and weak points through added volume to the area. (Hamstring curls, Bicep Curls, Straight Arm Pulldown, Lateral Raise, etc)

The session was brutal right towards the end, no let up, no stopping till the job was done 💪
Lunges with a barbell overhead, these are so tough, especially after heavy leg press but so affective, always include and work on excersises you find real hard, these are the excersises that can sometimes make the difference 💪
My girl makes them look so easy, she has such crazy, strong, conditioned legs it's unreal 😍. She batters me every leg session 😂

GLUTE FOCUSED EXERCISES TO INCORPORATE INTO YOUR LEG DAY🔥🔥

FOR ALL EXERCISES: use a weight that will be challenging on the last 3-4 repetitions, but will NOT compromise your form!
.
1️⃣Barbell Reverse Lunges: Make sure your knee does not go over your toe, push through your front heel and squeeze your glute! Also: for balance keep your core tight!
.
2️⃣Sumo Deadlift: The wider stance gives more attention to your glutes. USE YOUR LEGS and squeeze your glutes at the top of the movement. You’ll feel it! .

FOR ALL EXERCISES: use a weight that will be challenging on the last 3-4 repetitions, but will NOT compromise your form!

1️⃣Barbell Reverse Lunges: Make sure your knee does not go over your toe, push through your front heel and squeeze your glute! Also: for balance keep your core tight!
.
2️⃣Sumo Deadlift: The wider stance gives more attention to your glutes. USE YOUR LEGS and squeeze your glutes at the top of the movement. You’ll feel it! .
