Don’t be afraid to try a workout just because you don’t know how to do it. Ask someone near you. I believe they’ll be happy to help you. Make a really good playlist and blast your music. Forget about what everyone else is doing and just focus on your workout. We are all at the gym to better ourselves.

Cues play a huge role in ensuring proper form for every lift💪🏽 Try this solid leg workout, focusing on external cues.⁣

Squat 4x5⁣
• Head and spine in a neutral position ⁣
• Push knees out on the way down, don’t let them cave in⁣
• Breathe deep through stomach (diaphragm) not chest⁣
• Drop and push your hips back first, before bending your knees⁣
⁣
Leg Press 4x30⁣
• Force knees outward, do not let them collapse⁣
• Choose a higher feet position to target glutes and hamstrings⁣
• Choose a wider stance to target inner thighs⁣
• Go as low as you can while still maintaining a flat back⁣
⁣
Leg Extension 4x15⁣
• Keep feet flexed, toes pointing upward⁣
• Keep reps high to avoid knee discomfort⁣
⁣
Leg Curl 4x10⁣
• Keep feet flexed, toes pointing downward⁣

Lifting heavier weights for 1-5 reps does not build muscle, it builds strength.

Lifting in a rep range of 6-12 builds muscle.

Most people want to grow the muscle, they want it bigger and rounder...more noticeable.

So how do you do this?!

Bodybuilders around the world will tell you this all the time, people just get the statement confused.

YOU HAVE TO FEEL THE MUSCLE WORKING!

We call it mind-muscle connection!

So I’m going to teach you how to feel your cheeks.

Walk ten steps....but try to focus on putting all your weight on the heels of your feet, with each step...take it slow and step down like your trying to push through the floor....Do you feel it!?

Now stand up like you see me in the video hold on to something. And kick out! But focus on the heel of your feet, take it slow and extend out all the way. You should for your cheeks tighten automatically.

💥LOWER BODY💥

As the holidays are coming up and the cold weather has hit my motivation has definitely gone down. It’s harder to find time to workout and i don’t even wanna step outside in the cold!! Today i pushed myself out of bed and did a lower body workout! Although I didn’t film it today, it was a killer lower body workout!! For my warm up i ran 1.5 miles and rested about 10 minutes then pushed myself with this workout!! Save for later and Tag a friend who would kill this workout!! .

🤩 So it was time for a leg sesh again. I do 2 legs & glutes sessions, 2 chest & back sessions, 1 arms & shoulders session and 1 cardio session per week. Today I focused some extra on one of my fav exercises - hip thrusts. 🔥 〰️

Arguably one of the greatest tools for those who refuse to skip leg day and are looking to progress or rehab through their squat. -
1. GIVES YOU A TARGET
2. ENSURES CONSISTENT DEPTH
3. ENSURES PROPER POSTURE
4. REINFORCES HIP HINGE

Build trust in the "box" (see first rep) especially as the depth or weight increases.  Last thing you want is the box to slide across the floor.
_
Ideal height of box should bring you to at least parallel.  But whether in rehab or simply building experience, working with various heights is encouraged!

Touch & Go Technique:
Traditional box squat places entire bodyweight on box when you sit. But a touch and go is just that, barely touching the box with glutes before exploding back up.

Wide Box Squats:
More emphasis on hamstrings.

Eccentric focus:
Working on those negatives is still an effective way to build more muscle. Take advantage of the benefits during this lift built on confidence.

Why should u consider including front squats in ur leg day routine?

1. Increases bone density. Due to the axial loading exerted by the squat, the bones are challenged to improve over time!

2. It’s a structural lift, which means the whole body works as a single unit to complete the task ( along with your quadraceps, hamstring and glutes, the entire core and upper body is also invloved  isometrically to carry out tje movement )

3. It’s a more functional movement than the conventional squats so it has more carryover benefits in day to day life tasks!

4. They are easier on ur back and knees as compared to back squats.

🔑 There is no getting away from the fact that the squat is one of the best all time exercises. Want to get bigger and stronger? or want a nice peachy butt? Then squatting will help. However there are a few important cues to think about when squatting to make the exercise as effective, efficient and safe as possible.
.
✔️ Your feet should be about shoulder-width apart with your feet turned out slightly, at about 30 degrees. The foot should remain flat on the floor throughout the movement.
.
✔️ The bar should rest on your traps, meaning your shoulder blades should be retracted slightly. Grab the bar wider than shoulder width, gripping firmly.
.
✔️Head should remain neutral, don’t make the mistake of looking up or looking down.
.
✔️Elbows should be behind the torso at the top and inline with the torso at the bottom of the squat.
.
✔️On the way down you should bend at the hips and the knees at the same time. Keep the hips back and the knees out. Focus on keeping the lower back neutral throughout the movement.
.
✔️Squat down until the hips are lower than the knees, breaking a little lower than parallel.
.
✔️On the way up, move the hips straight up. Keep the knees out and the chest up with the head neutral.
.
✔️The bar path should move in a fairly straight vertical line over the middle of the foot. There should be little horizontal movement.

👀 As you can see there are a fair few things to think about when attempting the squat. Getting the technique tight is imperative if you want to get maximum results and effectiveness out of the movement. Have a look at the list above and consider if your technique needs tweaking at all. Small fixes can make a huge difference to both the overall results from squatting and the weight you are squatting itself.
