First video is a Zercher squat, which is good for hitting your quads, core, and biceps. *Also as you can see I didn’t use a belt until I got to 405, when squatting or deadlifting its best to minimize belt use and embrace your core.

Here’s to hoping I won’t have any foot chases in the next couple of days. 🥵 I’m falling back into my groove, and it feels amazing. I’ve missed having structure in my life these past few weeks. As the holidays approach, my main focus is showing up, and making an effort. I am my biggest competition. My health is my main priority. Well, it wasn’t a gym blooper. Last night I glanced at what I had programmed for us today, and when I saw paused doubles at RPE 9, my mind immediately went to 455. I knew that if I didn’t get 455, I’d be super disappointed, so I made it my last warmup 😂😂😂. It was pretty clear that 475 was gonna be the number from there. This is my 4th set of my 4x2 and it’s about as close to a 9 as I can get. It’s amazing how much squat can take out of your bench and so when 205 felt like 305, I knew it was gonna be a long one. Bench sets were 6x5 comp pause at 205 and 4x4 at 245 with feet up. Finished with 2x4 block pulls at 375 and banded lat rows 4x20. Girls came out and had to get a Pajama bench on. I knew that if I didn’t get 455, I’d be super disappointed, so I made it my last warmup 😂😂😂. It was pretty clear that 475 was gonna be the number from there. This is my 4th set of my 4x2 and it’s about as close to a 9 as I can get. It’s amazing how much squat can take out of your bench and so when 205 felt like 305, I knew it was gonna be a long one. Bench sets were 6x5 comp pause at 205 and 4x4 at 245 with feet up. Finished with 2x4 block pulls at 375 and banded lat rows 4x20. Girls came out and had to get a Pajama bench on. Real simple tip today. If you’re going to box squat or squat to a box, don’t plop your asshole onto the box. The compression forces aren’t kind to your vertebrae.

Gently touch the box.

I guess you can also get a box of appropriate depth for you. Right now, just above parallel is safe and comfortable for me.

I made the mistake earlier this year to discount the demands of downhill running. I paid the price and have had a medial ankle niggle for the last 6 months.

Recently, I’ve started to prepare myself to reenter the running scene, this time I’m taking into account and respecting the downhill aspect.

It’s been a quick minute since I dropped a pantsless pic on here; but I feel like my legs have been growing like weeds lately. My left leg also seems to be somewhat catching up to the right which is awesome. My current program that combines powerlifting one day with a varying rep scheme of workouts the rest of the time has been amazing. My quads and hamstrings are getting more volume per week than usual. It seems like every other day anymore is leg day and I’m not even sore anymore between workouts like I used to be. Also... HACK SQUATS 😍 3 plates per side for 3x7, 2.5 plates per side for 4x10. Get good at that machine and watch your legs grow! -
