Do you want to get better results from the gym?💪🏼 Ask yourself: How effective are your workouts?🤔 This is an important topic I wanted to discuss because as I was doing my cardio the other day, I was able to observe the other people in the gym. (The stairs are a great high ground to see over everything.) Do you ever notice most people are staring at their phone or in between sets grab their phone and start scrolling IG?! This is seriously a problem.

It had me reflecting on what I do between sets and thinking about how I can be more effective with my workouts. Efficiency is so important...if I grab my phone between every set I’m spending more time resting than recommended. I could be making sure my rest times are adequate...it also makes your gym session longer or you cut it off at a certain time wishing you could have done more. I for one have plenty on my plate that I don’t need to be anywhere longer than intended.

I challenge you to take a look at your own routine next time you’re at the gym and see if you can increase your effectiveness. I guarantee you have a little room for change and watch your the changes you can make!💫

⏰ I always had the excuse that I didn’t have time, I told myself I was too busy to workout that I had to work, cook, clean, wash clothes, wash dishes, the kids need me 24/7 but when I dug deep and realized that there is always time for what we make time for so I began my journey...
🏫 I’ve started to take an equip class in church, I’ve started a parenting with love and logic class with the kids school and I’ve signed up for different classes in the future as well, so time wasn’t an issue it was an excuse...
💭 I have learned that the negative thoughts I’ve always told myself are just that “thoughts” and all through the struggle I succeeded thus far!!! 🥤Drinking ketones has helped a whole lot for energy and confidence and I noticed that protones 30 minutes before my workout helps to sweat more...

I’m to the point in my fitness journey where I refuse to compare myself. The body that I have is strong and gorgeous as it is. Moving forward this is only about wellness. Whatever changes that come with it will be. I’ve been at this since April and I find myself discouraged with results only when I see how other people look in comparison. Today I got to see how strong I’ve become when I did a bunch of push-ups and shoulder taps while in a plank. I even went up on my deadlifts. My happy place!

Not much needs to be said for this one, just that I am so in love with this picture. My workout, outside, with my dog (not pictured, poor girl), and my favorite preworkout drink 🥰

A lot has change over the years, but one thing has remained constant.. my love for physical activity outside! Whether it be working out in my backyard, swimming in the lake, hiking up north, snowboarding in the winter, or running some trails. Being outside with a pumping heart has my mind, body and soul forever.

help motivate me to get out of bed when the alarm goes off is setting my coffee
up the night before. This way I can smell it brewing and I know there’s a hot,
fresh cup of coffee waiting for me as a reward after my work out is done. . 
Bonus tip- We grind our coffee fresh each time, it tastes so
much better than the pre-ground stuff. . 
Pressing play right after rolling out of bed is priority
number one for me! .

First video:How to not do a leg press-I see so many people loading up this machine with weight and busting out a bunch of 1/8th reps. This is not beneficial to you at all. Also don’t lock and hyperextend your knees at the top because that’s and easy way to break your legs

Second video:the right way to do a leg press-I used a full range of motion and didn’t lock my knees. Now I can build super quads!! -

What it takes to get that picture. .
Positano.  One of the most photographed towns along the Amalfi Coast.  The picturesque buildings lining the hillside are so  beautiful. .
We arrived by boat.  At the bottom of the hill- you can see it beyond Walker. .
We started on a casual stroll up the winding switchback roads.  Past the shops.  Past the gelato stores.  Just a little further.  The best photo is just around the next bend.  The overview a little further looks better.  Just 10 more minutes of walking. .
After about 45 min up the hill, we did find this lovely overlook to snap a picture.  Or we just felt like we couldn’t go further and it was good enough. .

Okay!  Now it’s lunch time - where is our restaurant?

Ya.  About the same height up.  On that other hill you see behind Walker. 😳. .
And Seri says it’s much faster to walk than ride.  There is no cross over.  Down and back up we go. .
Remember when your granddad said he walked up hill both ways to lunch?  This is what he was talking about. .

I started a new workout program!!! I think... lol. Having finished my 80 day program this week I was at a loss on what I wanted to start next. Do I repeat the 80 day one? Do I repeat a program I’ve already done? Do I try a new trainer? Thankfully I have a subscription to basically the Netflix of workouts. The program I really want to complete next isn’t available to me until next month. So I opted for a lifting/high intensity training combo program. I loved day one! It’s only 4 days a week, for 8 weeks, so I may combine it with yoga. This might just be an interim program until the one I want is available. But that’s ok, because in the end it’s really just about consistency. .
