Godt mørbanket efter to timers crossfit med @miansimonsen igår, foden brokker sig næsten ikke mere, så jeg er glad. Selvom det har været hårdt med så lang tids langsom genoptræning, ser det ud til at have været besværet værd. I dag foregår træningen i @fitnessworldbusgaden som jeg glæder mig til at besøge for første gang 🙌 god søndag solstråler ☀️

The sunshine is always here, even when we can’t see it through the cloud cover. If you’re living in ATL, I know it’s been a struggle for a few days! 🤪 But I promise we will get some sunshine here soon! In the meantime, even on a gloomy day, you can still cultivate that sunshine feeling within you, and it can drastically improve your mood and your quality of life in the immediate moment.  Close your eyes for a few minutes and think of your most favorite memory of when you were on a beach somewhere, relaxing in the sun. Call to mind the warmth on your skin and perhaps feel the breeze on your face. Smell the salt in the air. Listen to the sea birds’ conversations and the waves rolling in. One somewhat understated side effect of consistently working out and eating well: your ENERGY ⚡️ levels!⠀

Studies show that exercise helps you feel more energetic and alert over time. A lot of this has to do with aerobic capacity – basically, breathing heavier and faster during exercises increases your lung capacity, which then increases the ability to get more oxygen to your brain and blood stream to make you feel more alert! Exercise also allows your blood to circulate more efficiently and produces endorphins, your “feel good” chemicals. As if you needed another reason to get moving!⠀

Plain and simple, the more fit you are, the more energy you’ll have. I’ve seen this firsthand in my own fitness journey.⠀
⠀
I used to feel SO TIRED every day. Getting through the work day was a struggle, and on the weekends I’d take naps all the time. While there were definitely some other factors playing into this (I struggled with insomnia for two years), even though I was working out at the time I wasn’t showing up consistently or making much improvement in my workouts, and my nutrition wasn’t on point.⠀

Now that I’m getting in daily movement from tough workouts and active recovery days, I’ve noticed a HUGE change in my energy levels. Even on days when I’ve had a bad night’s sleep, I’m still pretty alert throughout the day instead of dragging and feeling fatigued. Being more aware of how food makes me feel and being sure to get lots of whole food into my diet every day is a game changer as well!⠀

We all know that eating too much sugar has many health risks which include obesity (that can contribute to developing chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes). ⠀

There are a few other reasons that sugar is bad for your health, such as:⠀

❌An increased risk of developing heart disease⠀
Excess amounts of sugar in the diet can result in obesity, inflammation and high triglyceride, blood sugar and blood pressure levels, all of which are contributing factors of heart disease.⠀

❌ A higher chance of developing acne⠀
Refined carbs, sugary foods and sugary drinks when consumed in high quantities, has been linked to a higher risk of acne.⠀

❌ An increased risk of depression⠀
Processed foods which are high in sugar can cause depression as a healthy diet plays a role in improving your mood.⠀

❌ Acceleration of the skin ageing process⠀
Whilst wrinkles are a natural characteristic of ageing, foods high in sugar can make wrinkles worse and speed up the ageing process.⠀

❌ A higher risk of tooth decay⠀
