Major props to those of you out there trying to balance your priorities.
For me it’s challenging to manage time in college.
I find myself struggling to achieve my goals because i prioritize school as I should, but I still get down on myself because I’m not where I want to be, and it makes me upset.
Eating enough, working out enough, studying enough. It’s hard.
But I’m going to push through, slowly but surely I know I will achieve my goals. 
The key is just to learn patience🔑

Consistency is key 🔑?

Well for me it is. I’m working out and counting calories/macros for about 3.5 years now. But consistency at the same time doesn’t mean 100% restriction everyday for me.

It means to just let go sometimes and enjoy life - without counting calories and thinking about every single piece of food you eat and how that will affect your body.

Even while counting calories you can enjoy food, that’s the good thing about it. Someone brings cake to work unexpectedly? Good. Eat and enjoy it, track the calories and maybe skip your breakfast for that (or save the calories somewhere else on that day).

If you’re not going to plan to go on stage or have a certain date where you have to be in a certain shape why restrict yourself so much? You are doing this for yourself, so keep a healthy relationship to food. You can have a great body while still enjoying food/life.

Here consistency comes back into play for me, as consistency also means going back to your routine after a day or some planned days off. Without falling off track or hesitation. I love to eat “unhealthy” food sometimes, but I love getting back on track after that just as much!

Ideally, you want about 0.8-1g of protein per pound of bodyweight to ensure pure consuming enough protein to not only be healthy, but also support protein synthesis and muscle maintenance. You need to provide your body with enough amino acids to build muscle and make gains. I like to have about 25g/meal as this seems to be an ideal dosage for absorption and partitioning though it is not the end of the world if you have a little more or a little less as total protein daily intake is more important. Some of these foods listed here can add near 3-5g+ of protein which can upgrade a meal from 15g of protein to 20-25g of protein with minimal effort and sometimes few calories.
✔️ Chia, hemp, and flax seeds have bout 3g/tbsp so adding a couple of tbsp can bring that protein up by almost 10g. They are great additions to salads and oatmeals.
✔️ Kale has 5g per 100g serving which is only 50 calories earning that adding a few handfuls of kale in your stir fry or salad can up that protein with minimal calories.
✔️ Nuts like cashews and almonds are also a great addition to salads and even stir frys. 1oz of cashews has 5g of protein.
✔️ Quinoa, oats, rice, buckwheat, amaranth and so many other grains are great sides to meals as they can not only add some carbs and fiber, but also protein. A cup of quinoa for example has 8g of complete protein which can significantly upgrade your meals protein quality and quantity. .

Recovery is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL for muscle growth, and is often overlooked by many people. Doing the following 4 things properly can significantly improve your recovery. -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1) REST DAYS: Allowing your body more time to rest from your workouts gives the muscle more time to repair and rebuild. Take 1-4 rest days a week, depending on your training split.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you’re trying to lose fat and the first question you’re asking is “what supplements should I take to burn fat?” then you need to take a step back and rethink your approach.

Losing fat comes down to your diet. More specifically, it comes down to eating in a caloric deficit which means eating less calories than your body needs to maintain its weight. When eating in a caloric deficit, it is normal and expected to be hungry. For that reason, I like to eat plenty of veggies since they are low calorie and filling. I also like to drink black coffee because it helps to suppress your appetite a bit and has 0 calories. Cardio is also a useful tool to burn calories which means you could keep calories a bit higher than if you didn’t do any.

If you have your diet spot on, you can experiment with a fat burning supplement if you’d like. Just remember that supplements should be the last factor you focus on to lose fat, not the first. If you’re trying to lose fat and the first question you’re asking is “what supplements should I take to burn fat?” then you need to take a step back and rethink your approach.

Losing fat comes down to your diet. More specifically, it comes down to eating in a caloric deficit which means eating less calories than your body needs to maintain its weight. When eating in a caloric deficit, it is normal and expected to be hungry. For that reason, I like to eat plenty of veggies since they are low calorie and filling. I also like to drink black coffee because it helps to suppress your appetite a bit and has 0 calories. Cardio is also a useful tool to burn calories which means you could keep calories a bit higher than if you didn’t do any.

If you have your diet spot on, you can experiment with a fat burning supplement if you’d like. Just remember that supplements should be the last factor you focus on to lose fat, not the first. How many times has this happened to you?

You eat a meal, only to feel hungry again soon after. Next thing you know your scouring the refrigerator or cabinets for anything you can get your hands on.⁣⁣
⁣
Listen, hunger is not an emergency, and it's good to get comfortable feeling a little bit. But too much can make you irritable, less focused, and less able to resist cravings. ⁣
Here are some tips to keep you full between meals so you aren’t always thinking about food or overeat later on.
⁣
Protein helps you feel full and stay full. Plus it stabilizes blood sugar so you won’t feel the crash that happens when you eat mostly carbs.⁣⁣
⁣
Eating fiber takes up lots of space in your stomach and digests slowly, which keeps you feeling full. Fill about 1/2 your plate with a fibrous veggies at each meal.⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Carbs are delicious, and including some dense, slow digesting carbs can be way more satisfying than having a meal of only protein and veggies. Think potatoes, oats, squash, or beans. ⁣
While protein and fiber help fill you up in the short term, fat (15 grams or so) helps KEEP you full for longer. avocado, olive oil, nuts or a higher fat protein, like salmon are all good choices. ⁣
If you don't feel satisfied from your meals, or you eat so fast you barely feel like you ate at all, chances are you will still feel hungry. Choose healthy foods you enjoy eating and take the time to enjoy it.⁣⁣⁣

You body gets used to the time of day you eat. If you’re eating small meals throughout the day, you will start experiencing hunger at those times. Try to limit your snaking, and instead stick to 3 larger, more satisfying meals.⁣⁣

Lack of sleep and stress will screw with your hunger hormones. Making sure you’re getting enough rest and managing stress can help keep hunger in check. 
Stop it with the 1200 calorie or less diets and eat enough for your body! You can still lose fat without starving yourself. Promise 😉

Apparently I'm on a roll with the biceps exercises, so I decided to drop one last for this week. The overhead cable curls is a good exercise for finishing your workout since it gives you a pretty good pump without being too demanding. ⁣
⁣
To perform it:⁣
1) Set a weight that is comfortable on each side of the pulley machine. Make sure that the amount of weight selected is the same on each side (I've personally got them different on a couple of occassions... go figure)⁣
⁣
2) Now adjust the height of the pulleys on each side and make sure that they are positioned at a height higher than that of your shoulders.⁣
⁣
3) Stand in the middle of both sides and use an underhand grip (palms facing towards the ceiling) to grab each handle. Your arms should be fully extended and parallel to the floor with your feet positioned shoulder width apart from each other. Your body should be evenly aligned the handles. This is the starting position.⁣
⁣
4) While exhaling, slowly squeeze the biceps on each side until your forearms and biceps touch.⁣
⁣
5) While inhaling, move your forearms back to the starting position. Note: Your entire body is stationary during this exercise except for the forearms.⁣
