zou ze dan toch sumo gaan??? of nee toch niet 🧐

As a coach and a member of the fitness industry, I can sometimes feel this overwhelming pressure to have a certain level of body positivity at all times. As someone who constantly reiterates the importance of self love to the people around me, it can feel somewhat embarrassing to experience a period where I’m not feeling very confident myself.

Realistically, being positive and confident at all times is impossible and after five weeks of indulging in the States (NO RAGRATS), I found that I was harbouring some negative thoughts for the majority of last week.

It took a few days to get out of that mindset and to regain some normality in terms of my mental health. I started training and getting back into a normal routine and those thoughts naturally started to recede. My normal level of confidence and self love came back and I mean, sure, I’m feeling fuller than normal but all that extra weight - which seems to have migrated straight to my thighs - is only going to help me squat more, right? 😂🤪

All jokes aside, confidence isn’t something that is constant for most people. Body positivity ebbs and flows and that’s okay. Find what makes you feel confident and put it into practise and if you find yourself needing to speak to a professional to feel better, that’s okay too 💪🏼

⛔️ Dormir poco (o mal) nos supone un lastre MUY GRANDE para ganar masa muscular, con problemas como una bajada en la liberación de testosterona de un 10-15%, mayor daño muscular, peor recuperación y menor anabolismo proteico. Que hace que sea más difícil ganar masa muscular… PERO NO QUEDA AHÍ LA COSA…⬇️

✅ Cuando queremos “limpiar” las gains, y definir, también afecta MUCHO el SUEÑO😴🦉 … mucha gente se fija en perder “peso”👎📉 y efectivamente, hacen una definición y pierden peso pero SE VEN ESTÉTICAMENTE PEOR… la clave es… ¿DE DONDE PIERDES EL PESO?

🤓📚 En este estudio comprobaron que aquellas personas que dormían 5,5h perdían mucho más FFM (tejido libre de grasa) que grasa, y que los que dormían más (8,5h) perdían hasta x2,3 veces más grasa y menos FFM 💡💥 Al final DORMIR poco aumenta tu tendencia a acumular grasa, por lo que dificulta us pérdida, y se ve reducida tu capacidad de trabajo y de recuperación (vas a entrenar PEOR y te vas a recuperar PEOR) y al verse incrementado el cataclismo proteico, seguramente vas a definir si… pero apenas perdiendo grasa y dejando la masa muscular que es CLAVE (estética y salud) por el camino…

⚠️Cabe destacar que el tejido libre de grasa no es únicamente masa muscular, hay otros compuestos (como agua 💦) por lo que personalmente opino que a nivel PRÁCTICO/REAL, únicamente perderían músculo aquellos que duerman MAL y mucha menos grasa.⚠️

Sometimes I feel weird or guilty about posting gym selfies because I’ve been conditioned to think they’re “unprofessional” in some way but then I remember that if a male doc posted the same thing no one would bat an eye☺️. Posting these helps me keep myself accountable. I’m proud of the work I’ve been putting in. Plus, I was feeling myself- nothing like a tan and some high socks to cover up your baby calves to make you feel like a mili bucks 💵 #docswholift Rex

The most common question I get is “how do you do it, day in and day out?”. I remember why I started and I know what keeps me going. It all started with weight loss and I spent hours on cardio and under eating. The results of being able to shape and sculpt your body was at some point the only thing I could control. Then it became a habit and I genuinely like doing it. The feeling of it, the joy and the power of being able to drain myself of anything, both mentally and physically. It was never something I had to do, a must. It’s simply something I want to do, enjoy doing. My type of activity might not be enjoyable for everyone, so my tip is to find something you enjoy doing that keeps you active! -

You live and you learn. Had a moderate day that felt like hell was dehydrated and had tight hips off extracurricular activities, you know the vibes mane. Program called for a 5x5 chose 455, see the new form allows for explosiveness and weight to fly, issue being if anything wrong goes down it hits the fan. First three sets moved solid and followed the rpe considering the constrictions, fourth set moved like hell, fifth set moved smoothly until I bailed on the last one even though I could have pulled it easily in the rpe, delayed fatigue and other things messed that up. It is what it is, use this as an example and keep it moving. Followed this up with a light bb day for leg growth and focusing on driving feet through the ground. Got a new pair of Vans cause these busted up and got holes all up in them and makes it difficult to stabilize while lifting, hell could have been that on the fifth set but this ain’t no highlight reel log account, there comes highs and lows and it’s all gonna be documented.  #getbettertoday #powerlifting #gains #ecsu #easternconnecticutstateuniversity #startingfromthebeggining #the begginingisintheend

2 years ago I was depressed , hated my body, insecure , manic, trying to find myself. I went to therapy from the age of 6 to 21. That’s a long time. When I lived in NYC everyday was a constant wanting to jump Infront of a train and end it all. I loved nyc and would love to move back, but i dont think I can because of all the bad memories of myself there. I was so lost and always felt so sad and no wanted. I was sexually assaulted and that haunted me for years and I felt so not ok with my body for a long time. A lot has happened to me and I just wanted happiness so badly.

And one day I found happiness. I have the most amazing friends. Found the best boyfriend I could ever ask for, I found myself. And today I am so happy, thriving, finding my career and love forward with that, found a love for fitness, more confident in my skin. And no longer go to therapy. .
.
I know it sounds crazy but my boyfriend literally changed my life. He has a different mind set on life and emotions and on literally everything and he has opened my eyes so much to new things. I want to say he almost cured my depression but just teaching me how to control my feelings, and than I am in charge of how I feel and what I do. Some people think he’s a ass because he doesn’t think like your average human robot but he’s truly so enlightened and amazing.

I am amazing for everything I do. I have grown so so much as a person and it’s insane. I look at old pictures and it feels like I don’t even know who that girl was. Like I can’t even imagine being that girl. But it was me. I’m just better now

If your stuck right now, I promise you there is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep fighting and seeking help. You’ll get your breath of air one day and breathe fine forever 💗 .

First things first: sorry for all that ASSSSSS 😂😂 Moving on.... Some noticeable differences here, mainly posing progression and a little bit less fat on the present picture.

To stay dedicated and motivated, you have to be able to see how far your work has gotten you...and a mirror isn't always the best way to see that. Progress pictures are. You're biased either for or against yourself, no matter what you may think. So before you start thinking you're stagnant or that you're some demi-god that's progressing at unfathomable rates, go look at some pictures from the past and make comparisons, then move forward accordingly.
