I am more than halfway done with the Candida Bacteria Overgrowth protocol. And I am so glad I finally started! I made too many excuses for why I couldn’t START at any point. And why it wasn’t the right time etc. The time is going to pass anyway- so why not use it trying to improve yourself and get well instead of feeling bad or not good!?

 I’m thinking back to when my stomach would bloat so uncomfortably after eating or when I experienced so many reactions to foods I could once eat! Check stories  for those pictures. Because for some reason wouldn’t load on here! GUYS this isn’t normal!! yes this is extreme bloating but even a little bit is not normal! Finding the root cause that is making your stomach inflamed is important!

Things like acid reflux, food sensitivities, bloating, irregular bowel movements, stomach pain -> after eating is not normal! there is a root cause to why we may feel bad after eating! And yes lab testing and protocols are expensive and take some time to do but they’re so important. If you aren’t feeling your best than you cannot give your best to those you love!

This mini organic hand sanitizer has been a lifesaver during my travels today! Traditional bathroom soaps are full of synthetic fragrances along with other harmful chemicals so I do my best to avoid them even when I travel. Juicing removes fiber...smoothies do not remove fiber! This means that depending on what the juice is made from it can cause a spike in blood sugar and then a crash! Fiber helps our bodies to regulate blood sugar naturally. Fiber also feeds good bacteria in your gut and is essential for proper gut health. Fiber also helps us 💩 which helps our bodies to remove toxins. So in my opinion...it's best to have a smoothie vs a juice. But truthfully that all depends on what the juice is made from. If you are mostly juicing things like veggies, lemon, and ginger instead of fruits naturally high in sugar then you are ahead of the game. This is why I typically choose green juices because they usually have more veggies over high sugar fruits! Juices are great every once in a while to give your body a boost of nutrients but I personally stick to smoothies most of the time.⁠

🍋 Lemon is also a great antibacterial food. I love baking a lemon garlic chicken, adding lemon juice to fish tacos, and using fresh slices for my tea and water! Caution!! Lemons can cause a histamine reaction in some people, So pay attention to your body as it talks to you and remember that all foods don't work for all people and that's OK!⁠

Garlic, Onion, Raw Honey, and ACV (apple cider vinegar) are NOT antibacterial. Instead they are considered prebiotics which help promote healthy bacterial growth in the gut. I was waiting until after my long vacation before starting my Candida Bacterial Overgrowth protocol (CBO). I knew I would be “damaging” my gut more with alcohol, gluten, dairy, sugar etc. I’m going to heal and seal this gut for good! Causes of this for me are: 10+ years of hormonal birth control, several rounds of antibiotic use for chronic UTIs, processed diet, sugar, work stress, and so much more! Pre work out 💪🏼 I’ve seen so many pre work supplements full of artificial EVERYTHING. While this pre workout  has caffeine in it and that’s controversial for people -  it’s clean. It’s not full of fake stuff. So these mornings when I’m awake before then sun and before my eyes are open I feel comfortable taking this with water. I’m back from a long, amazing vacation. My body is craving to get back to my routine! This was the first vacation that I did not pack my “at home” workout stuff like resistance bands. I read something the other day like “if you’re eating organic but using toxic stuff then you’re doing it wrong blah blah” and I don’t agree! Yes I REALLY believe we need to ditch the toxics on our body and in our house BUT if switching your food products is the first step then GOOD.FOR.YOU! 👏🏼 Switch the food to cleaner brands and to organic! Then you can work towards switching out other products. It doesn’t all happen overnight or in a week or even a month.  It’s a slow process and THATS OK! I don’t wear eye shadow daily but I do wear a few times a week. So I thought I would replace it when I run out since I don’t wear daily. But I kept staring at my naked eye shadow palate and knew it would be at least another year before I NEEDED another one. To piggyback off yesterdays post...this is my most favorite toxic free deodorant! I got turned onto the spray deodorant while I was living in Germany because it seemed very popular there. I am so glad I gave it a try! I simply wasn't happy with a lot of the stick forms I was trying. They either irritated my armpits or made marks on my shirts. This one doesn't do any of that! It has a nice smell, lasts forever because you only need a few sprays, and is made from simple good ingredients! Juicing removes fiber...smoothies do not remove fiber! This means that depending on what the juice is made from it can cause a spike in blood sugar and then a crash! Fiber helps our bodies to regulate blood sugar naturally. Fiber also feeds good bacteria in your gut and is essential for proper gut health. Fiber also helps us 💩 which helps our bodies to remove toxins. So in my opinion...it's best to have a smoothie vs a juice. But truthfully that all depends on what the juice is made from. If you are mostly juicing things like veggies, lemon, and ginger instead of fruits naturally high in sugar then you are ahead of the game. This is why I typically choose green juices because they usually have more veggies over high sugar fruits! Juices are great every once in a while to give your body a boost of nutrients but I personally stick to smoothies most of the time.⁠

Morning smoothies are not only a good way to get a couple veggie servings in first thing in the morning, hydrate the cells, and fuel your body with the essential vitamins and minerals - they are also good for your digestive system, stress response, and blood/glucose levels!

Drinking something that is already all blended up makes it easier for your body to digest it and absorb everything. Which helps the stress response in the body. Yes- eating meals is a stress on the digestive system!

Smoothies are full of vitamins, berries, and leafy greens meaning our body isn’t going to have such a drastic spike in blood/glucose levels. Especially compared to something like toast, cereal, or a big full meal of meats! This also helps with stress on the body! Have you ever thought about what you’re eating is causing an unneeded stress response on the body?!

•2 handfuls of organic spinach
•1 cup of frozen organic mixed berries
•1/2 frozen banana
•1 small handful of frozen broccoli sprouts(jam packed with nutrients)
•1 tablespoon of organic almond butter (organic matters, almonds are heavily sprayed. Only ingredient almonds!)
•@equilibriumnutrition DNS powder (multi vitamin, minerals, electrolytes, plant based protein)
•1 scoop grassfed collagen from @thrivemarket
•filtered water
•I added my specific seeds for seed cycling as well so if you do this then throw them in!

TRAVEL SEEDS. These are ground up seeds to take with me for my weekend away! I have been consistently seed cycling for a few cycles and feeling great! First things first. Supplements are NOT created equal. Where you buy them DOES matter. Most supplements you can buy in store are not great. They may contain other harmful ingredients, not the actual amount of vitamin/mineral they say, not pure, not tested, etc. Same goes with Amazon!  Do you know that some supplements bought on amazon are not the actual product. And the capsule is filled with some random white powder?! 😵

The FDA does not monitor supplements to the extreme you may think. They monitor the labeling and the claims on the bottle. But they’re not monitoring/testing that the quality is good or that the amount of vitamin/mineral is ACTUALLY in the supplement

You want a supplement that is third party tested. This ensures that someone else other than the company producing the product is testing the supplements. NSF certification is a good one to look for and so is good manufacturing on the bottle. These mean that the company is trying to show you that they do care about quality and they pay additional money to be certified

Friendship is so so important to our mental health. It’s important to have someone you can talk to about anything without judgement but who is also going to be the voice of reason and honesty.  But not every friendship is good for us. It’s important to surround yourself with people who make you better and who inspire you. Limiting beliefs are a huge part of health. If you believe that you will lose your teeth because your mom did and your grandparents did then you will. If you believe you are too old, tired, or large to workout then you won’t exercise. If you believe you have high cholesterol, diabetes, etc because everyone else in your family does then sure you will too. If you have surrounded yourself with people that make it sound terrible & painful to grow old then you too will believe that growing old is going to be miserable. As my mom just finished a phase of her breast cancer treatment i was thinking just how prevalent breast cancer really is. How much it is growing and projected to grow in the future. That’s right, they are predicting cancer to become more prevalent. They’re not predicting it to be uncommon. Even with all the research on cancer and the links.  How scary is that 😵

This is just a reminder to me how important it really is to avoid toxins in our everyday life! There are many studies linking environmental toxins with terrible health issues.  There’s more 75,000 different synthetic chemicals were exposed to in a daily basis. Toxins in our detergent, cleaning products, make up, bath products, cookware, food, plastics. It’s EVERYWHERE. No, we aren’t all perfect and never will be. But doing the best we can each day to avoid the toxins we have control over will only help us get healthier

AHHH an evening in France with my best gal (and our husbands), enjoying French wine on the lawn after a day of exploring Paris. How much better can a day get?! During this trip/time our account was just a constant topic of our chats. A fun way for us to do something together to spread the word of health, balance, and all things natural.. For years Sam and I had been sharing things with just each other and we were loving what we learned and we were doing. So we decided how much more fun to spread the word of healthy living to other people. We had literally just created our Instagram page on the train to France. So I know we talk about reading ingredients on food labels all the time and what to look for there - but - have you read the ingredients on your tampons? If you’re using tampons there should be ONE ingredient in them. ONE that’s it 👉🏼100% Organic Cotton. Many of the big companies have things like polyester, rayon, a blend of fibers. Those are synthetic materials that do not belong in our vaginal walls. Or anywhere for that matter. This part of our body is highly absorbable and we shouldn’t be absorbing plastic! Check those labels ladies! 👏🏼 if there is something other than 100% Organic cotton - go ahead and toss those in the trash! It is not worth it to continue using them until that box is gone
