Recovery is key to performance... what have I not had enough of this week, recovery 🥴

Not my finest training session ever but I got it done. Sleep has taken a hit this week but sometimes life gets in the way and that’s ok. I’ve done the best I can to get everything done and still prioritise recovery as much as possible. Having one biiiig early night tonight 😴

Can’t complain that much though after possibly making my hip worse on the weekend by sleeping funny then deadlifting (yes, I know 🙄). Being able to go in and actually train, however bad it is, is better than physically not being able to train at all ☺️

Bring on a well needed rest day... but first deadlifts tomorrow 😅 wish me luck 🤞

This is what sickness looks like. Black circles under your eyes, red eyes. Inflammation out the you know what! (My jeans I now squeeze into always leave marks on me when they used to not) And sometimes make me feel like I’m having a blood clot in one leg if I sit in the car too long. I just refuse to buy a bigger size, so squeezing in my 1’s. I usually have about 10-12 lbs of inflammation on me, since February of this year. It hurts to put my gym shoes on (feels tight), hurts my joints to run/sprint or doing lunges etc. I’m sick again the last week and a half, some kind of cold/flu (last year this time I had pneumonia. I HAVE to be better for surgery in 8 days (Oct 31st 😍), today is a decent day, so attempting a workout. It’s hard as heck now when I used to show those weights who’s boss! (I’ll add some pics of me from last year so y’all can see how #BII hit me hard this year more so than the last 2)

Co vlastně Bcaa jsou ?....BCAA neboli aminokyseliny s rozvětveným řetězcem, skrývají  se tři nejdůležitější aminokyseliny leucin, izoleucin a valin.
 Mají mnoho pozitivních účinků na nabírání svalové hmoty, pálení tuků i lepší regeneraci. 
Větvené aminokyseliny tvoří spolu s ostatními esenciálními a neesenciálními aminokyselinami základní stavební jednotku bílkovin, které jsou, jak jistě víte, nezbytné při budování svalové hmoty. Větvené aminokyseliny z krevního řečiště vůbec neputují do jater, ale jsou rovnou k dispozici pracujícím svalům, které je mohou využít jako okamžitý zdroj energie. Díky tomu si svaly ušetří svoji vlastní zásobu aminokyselin a svalového glykogenu....... Opravdu Bcaa poškozují játra ? Ne! Důležité je si uvědomit, jak BCAA vlastně fungují. Zatímco většina ostatních aminokyselin se rozloží v žaludku a tenkém střevě, odkud přestoupí přes cévní stěnu do jater, BCAA se k játrům vůbec nedostávají. Namísto toho jsou okamžitě k dispozici jako energie pro svaly.

Cardio cardio cardio. Im down a couple more pounds. Down to 255 now. I preach this about this cardio ever day. Cause it’s not boring. The human body is not designed to be muscular during steady state cardio. This hiit style cardio builds muscle while burning fat. Best of both worlds 💪🏼

New toys always make for a great workout.

This one in particular shredded my back yesterday. I’m really trying to work on the upper middle area of my back the “yoke” as coined by @jeffnippard . Basically the area of your back and frame that, when developed just. look. big.

This row machine is great because Your able to rotate your wrists, which leads to a mean contraction with the biceps at the top, which allows for your arms to be tight against the body and just tears that upper back apart. 
Loaded the hell out of the bar and prayed for my biceps. Watching all these dudes tearing biceps, I figure it’s just a matter of time... Luckily my biceps survived. Because they’re monstrous and strong.

If you don’t have a machine that allows you to rotate your wrists, try two
Armed dumbbell rows. Rotate your wrists as you go through the movement. And you’ll have the same effect. If you do it standing you’ll even get some lower back action in there for stability.

Try it out. Get it done.

He also did a casual back off set of 4 plates a side for 12 reps (160kg)... lol 😎

Next week I’ll start running 6 miles💪 I know I’ll be in for a rude awakening when I start hitting the pavement in the new year.  But for now, I’m enjoying this treadmill progress right here 🥰❤️😍
