Holidays are in less than 2 months.... please stay focused!! I know how hard it is to fight temptations especially when in comes to food. Remember your goals, look at how for you’ve come, and stay focused. A few ideas about how to stay focused around food this holiday season: 1. Make a plan and figure out what you plan on eating that whole day to make sure you have enough calories to indulge if you track cals/macros!!
2. Increase protein, veggies, & healthy fats before and after indulging!! 3. DRINK!!! ...tons of WATER!!
4. Drink tea-a hot cup of tea after indulging can help settle your stomach if you aren’t used to all the sugar. 
5. Stay on track with your workout schedule!! When traveling this can get difficult but remember, you don’t need a gym for a workout! You can use your body and do body weight HIIT exercises. This is also good if you’re short on time!
6. Lastly don’t punish yourself if you over indulge and absolutely do not starve yourself the next day! Wake up, workout, & get back on track with your healthy food!!

It’s gainsss season. 💪 Currently eating 2400-2500 kcals per day with 1-1.25 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight, high carb, and moderate fat.

My goal over the next few months is to add lean muscle, with minimal body fat.

But on a real note, I’ve got 4 finals coming up and a big project due and then I’m DONE with the semester (hallelujah praise the lerd). On the gym side, I’ve been super motivated and lifting pretty heaving. I’ve been really enjoying my time in the gym! I go through highs and lows throughout the year and sometimes it’s really tough to find motivation to get into the gym much less enjoy being there. Going through the lows make me super grateful when I’m in the high, just like anything in life. Sometimes, you just have to remind yourself why you started and how far you’ve come!

What gets you motivated??

Being “slim”, “skinny”....it doesn’t make you automatically happy. At all. It doesn’t fulfill some big dream or make you feel satisfied in life. 
But I was dangerously obese. 304lbs. I’ve talked about this before, but briefly —my blood pressure was high, cholesterol dangerously high, borderline diabetic and the worst was I had zero energy, zero motivation, I felt dragged down, my knees hurt....the list goes on. I was flat out miserable. Those 15 years were the worst of my life. Everything was worse because I couldn’t get it together because of all the weight related issues. And the less I did, the more I gained. 
It got to a point that I was just in bed , all. the. time. 
Then I learnt how to reset my metabolism , got more energy and was able to focus on things like exercise and just moving more in general. I lost and lost. I worked hard, but it wasn’t extremely hard (you know what I mean?!?) Now I’m down 130lbs. I feel better than I’ve ever felt •physically (more energy, more fit , much stronger )
•and mentally —well you all saw. Losing weight won’t solve all your mental health problems or magically make you happy. 
BUT—I bounced back from this illness and hospitalization A LOT faster. I had 16 months of built up health and wellness that helped make things SO MUCH easier this time around. •I have some left to lose. Trying to achieve a new PR weekly 🤔 
Annnnd today’s #backday I did that 🙌🏾 Funny cause’ I remember when @jax.physiques @jesssica.james gave me my new program and I didn’t know what rack deadlifts were! So it took me legit like 3 weeks to just get it right 😩 
don’t judge 🙊 😬 
It just wasn’t registering 🙄 
I kept doing traditional dead lifts. 
Big diff... try it, you’ll feel it !! Anyhow, it’s amazing what happens when we choose to be persistent and consistent with the things we want. That’s where the real growth and strength comes !! I think I can go heavier next week 🤔

i felt slim today... i changed my scrub size to medium for the bottoms (i’ve been wearing a medium top for a while) and someone called me “tiny” today. i don’t know if “tiny” will ever be a word that describes me, but we’ll go with it. 😂 also, seeing these pictures really makes me want a breast reduction... or at the very least, no implants when i finally get a lift! i just really feel like they are in the way and don’t fit my frame anymore.

THE NUMBERS
RECIPE MAKES FIVE SERVES
Calories per serve: 227
Carbs: 10g
Fat: 8g
Protein: 25g

INGREDIENTS
500g zucchini noodles
Tsp Olive oil, for frying
FOR THE MEATBALLS
500g lean turkey mince
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
70g tomato paste
FOR THE TOMATO SAUCE
Tsp Olive oil, for frying
70g tomato paste
400g tinned chrushed tomatoes
½ tsp dried basil

METHOD
1. Put the turkey mince into a mixing bowl with the beaten egg and salt and pepper. Mix everything together until thoroughly combined.
2. Roll the mixture into 20 meatballs and put them on to a plate. Wet your hands if the mixture is sticking to them. Place the meatballs in the fridge until it’s time to fry them.
3. Heat the olive oil over a pan on medium heat. Once hot, add the basil and tomato paste. Then add the chopped tomatoes, oregano a good pinch of salt and pepper. Stir everything together and leave to simmer for 10 minutes, until slightly thickened.
4. In another fry pan, cook the meatballs until slightly brown on all sides. Pour in the sauce and lightly stir every minute for around 10 minutes.
5. Fry up the zoodles in another fry pan. Serve and enjoy! -

70g tomato paste
400g tinned chrushed tomatoes
½ tsp dried basil

METHOD
1. Put the turkey mince into a mixing bowl with the beaten egg and salt and pepper. Mix everything together until thoroughly combined.
2. Roll the mixture into 20 meatballs and put them on to a plate. Wet your hands if the mixture is sticking to them. Place the meatballs in the fridge until it’s time to fry them.
3. Heat the olive oil over a pan on medium heat. Once hot, add the basil and tomato paste. Then add the chopped tomatoes, oregano a good pinch of salt and pepper. Stir everything together and leave to simmer for 10 minutes, until slightly thickened.
4. In another fry pan, cook the meatballs until slightly brown on all sides. Pour in the sauce and lightly stir every minute for around 10 minutes.
5. Fry up the zoodles in another fry pan. Serve and enjoy! -

Personally, I hit this every time I have an upper body session with a scheme of 2x5. Everyone's different, so if you do give it a shot, play with it a little, and see what works and feels best for you

2 years ago today, I was escorted off of an attraction at @universalorlando, because I was too overweight to ride safely. .

It. Was. Devastating. I really can't properly describe the feeling, but I knew I never wanted to experience it again.

2 years later, I'm down 140 lbs and have nearly cut my BMI in half. .

I've since ridden that ride (while I cried the entire time, overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions), and done a million other things because nothing - not even myself - was going to tell me I couldn't ever again. .

It's crazy what one moment in time can put into motion. It's even crazier what one can accomplish when excuses are dropped and action is taken. .

2 years later, and I'm here. And I couldn't be prouder. .
