✨ 💕 This week I am feeling totally so aligned with my true self. I may be turning 30 this year, but I’ve never felt fitter, healthier, happier, more confident and more “me”. Isn’t it crazy how you can go nearly half a lifetime and not feel that way until you’re reaching a bit of a milestone age?! ⁣

Self belief and self confidence isn’t something that has always come naturally to me. At school I was bullied for my figure, in my old career I was surrounded by middle aged men who didn’t always take me seriously, but I made a conscious decision to invest in myself this year. In business, in my personal life and in my fitness I am striving to be the best version of myself. ⁣
⁣
If there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we only get this one shot at life. You may not always be in control of things that happen in your life, but you ARE in control of how you react to them. Sometimes this will be harder than others, but at the end of the day it’s your life and not anybody else’s. You choose to either greet each day with positivity and gratitude or negativity and hate. I know which one I pick 💫✨

Never ending love story between me and protein😋😍

A lot of people seem to think reaching your fitness goals is only about getting enough protein, eating a certain amount of CALORIES and going to the GYM. But they forget two very important factors – STRESS and SLEEP😴
So I love that this weeks #gymshark66 challenge is to create and stick to a healthy sleeping routine.🕖 My goal is to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night (anything beneath that, I feel tired all day long) and also to get back to going to sleep no later than 11pm😊💤
If you're trying to change your sleeping schedule it's probably useful to start slowly and not go to sleep at 10pm instead of 2am all of a sudden. So the idea is to go to sleep every night 15min earlier until you reached your optimal time🤓

What do you find to be your perfect amount of sleep?😴✨

Little quick tip – currently I love drinking my vanilla protein with warm unsweetened almond milk. Especially before going to bed.🌙 Not only does it taste like heaven☁️ and increase your daily protein intake, it might actually help you sleep better due to the tryptophan (amino acid, for example found in almonds).💤

A lot of people seem to think reaching your fitness goals is only about getting enough protein, eating a certain amount of CALORIES and going to the GYM. But they forget two very important factors – STRESS and SLEEP😴
So I love that this weeks #gymshark66 challenge is to create and stick to a healthy sleeping routine.🕖 My goal is to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night (anything beneath that, I feel tired all day long) and also to get back to going to sleep no later than 11pm😊💤

📌 Lately, I haven’t been the best with my eating habits and yesterday, the struggle. 👏🏻 was. 👏🏻 real. 👏🏻 The truth is, this “struggle” has been ongoing for a short time. I keep saying I’m ready to get back to it but, am I really? 🧐 The answer is, yes! ✅ ⁣

📆 Yesterday, I broke my fast with my preferred protein shake and later had a Subway salad for lunch. 🥗 I had the urge to go to SO MANY other places but I didn’t and the feeling after was SO GOOD! 🙌🏻⁣

📝 Fact: the life long journey to a better you is tough. There are ups, downs, and all arounds. Right now, I’m all around loving regular carbs (like King Cones and Jimmy John’s 👀). I’m not going crazy on the carbs I’m just keeping it real. That French bread from JJ hit the spot. 😁 BUT, I know my body and I know that I can’t love all the carbs for TOO long. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve done it before. I thought I was “fit enough” to eat whatever, workout, and bippity boppity boo, I would stay fit and semi-trim. 🙄 Boy was I wrong! ❌ My mindless eating (even though I was working out hardcore) was catching up to me. My eating habits were competing with my workouts and eventually, the food won. The food “won” me an extra 35lbs and put me back at 205. 😳⁣

🤷🏻‍♀️ So what’s my point? My point is this: find a plan that works for YOU and YOUR body. Make it a lifestyle of feel good decisions. Make it work so well that when you DO indulge on heavier stuff like king cones, white bread and pizza, it’s OKAY. Just promise that your indulgence is temporary. ✅ ⁣

😌 With all that said, I’m happy to tell you that little by little I’m in control again, I’m coming back, my carb craze is coming to a halt .... for now. 🤪 I’m ready better my body by getting rid of the last of my weight .... my belly. ğŸŽ‰â£

This was around the time of achieving my leanest body and fittest self. It was only a few months later that I started developing nagging injuries that led to my hyper mobility diagnosis.⁣⁣

The reason I have been so absent recently 😜

Me and my team passed our sign off at work! We got 93 out of 100% AND I am super proud of everyone of them!
.
The hard work and dedication that has gone into my store has been phenomenal! It has been exhausting, it has been challenging and there has been crazy amounts of pressure at times but they all jumped right in and supported one another to get this amazing score! ❤️

Now I can get back to normal life. I can sleep again, hit the gym and have a social life 😂 Thank you team 830 for being amazing! 🥰

😭😭🔥🔥HOLY HELL. Just hit a new Deadlift PR of 315x3 on a CUT. Coming back from and exceeding pre-injury PRs has been a fantastic and hopeful achievement.

I shifted to a trap bar for deadlifts because it feels better on my lower back and better activates my glutes(#getthick ). And even though I'm cutting, I try to match or exceed my #s to help maintain or even build strength and mass.

Make small, sustainable, incremental adjustments to your life that improve you and it for the better.⁣⁣⠀

Firstly, I think that the notion of perfection is somewhat subjective. ⁣⁣⠀
What you and I would define, or actually live it as, would most likely prove to be quite different. ⁣⁣⠀

That is to say that if I was to try and be perfect, based on your or his or her view of it I would find it difficult, because simply it's not me. ⁣⁣⠀

So why take the "perfect diet" guide from the Lifestyke articles or Bodybuilding websites? ⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
Also, if you do manage to nail down a definition for it, a 'perfect' existence for many is fuckin difficult.⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
And I mean really fuckin difficult. ⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
Not solely just in practice but the mental aspect. ⁣⁣⠀
You veer off slightly from this perfect plan and what happens? Is it all ruined?⁣⁣⠀
The constant anxiety of attaining 'perfection'.⁣⁣⠀
The possible affect on your social life.⁣⁣⠀
Was it attainable and realistic at all to begin with? ⁣⁣⠀

I heard this before and it really stuck with me... If you can admire a quality in someone that you desire eg. Confidence, kindness, you already have that inside of you. You just need to allow yourself to step into it xx 
With that said: What if everything you have ever wanted to feel or whoever you wanted to become was already inside of you? 
What if you don’t need MORE but you need LESS.... less doubt, less insecurity, fewer people around you bringing you down. You need people around you to bring you up and empower you and even if you don’t have that at this moment. You will always ALWAYS have yourself.

I wanted to share about a tech gadget that I’ve been loving these days. My Garmin #vivoactive4 smart watch. I think just through tracking my health data, I found our that working out late at night impacts the quality of sleep, coffee after 3 pm impacts my sleep too. When my watch says my body battery is high, I usually feel more rested and ready. So now I’m trying to figure out what else apart from good sleep is having an impact on me feeling ready to take on the day.

I also use it to track workouts and and how much time I spent being active. One of my non health related feature is the #findmyphone option. I never remember where I left my phone so this comes in. Dry handy. The alarm is another good one which helps to wake me up without waking up my husband.

Sometimes technology can be good. Any favorite product that you’ve been loving lately? Tech or nontech

Se dinheiro traz felicidade, praticar exercícios físicos regularmente pode fazer ainda mais que isso. Segundo uma pesquisa publicada na revista científica The Lancet, ser fisicamente ativo traz mais felicidade do que ter um bom status econômico. O estudo, realizado por pesquisadores das universidades de Oxford e Yale, coletou dados de mais de 1,2 milhão de norte-americanos, a fim de saber sobre o comportamento físico e mental dos participantes.

A conclusão foi que: pessoas que se exercitam tendem a se sentir mal por 35 dias ao ano, já os não ativos, se sentem mal por 53 dias. Além disso, a análise revela que os fisicamente ativos se sentem tão bem quanto os inativos, que ganham cerca de US $ 25 mil a mais por ano, ou seja, a felicidade está mais interligada a uma rotina de exercícios físicos do que ao status econômico.
