This list is not exhaustive by any means. These are ideas that came to mind when shopping for fat loss. Someone else could come up with a completely different list that would work just as well if not better.⁣⁣

With that being said, your first two priorities must be considered:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1. Creating a slight calorie deficit. Knowing that, to make it easier on yourself - you don’t want to include too many high calorie foods. While I”m all about balance, if you’re consuming lots of full fat dairy, bananas, and loading up on nuts and avocados, you’re going to find it extremely hard to lose body fat. I realize I included nuts and avocados on the list, lol - but eat them in moderation. A small handful of nuts is enough for a snack and 1/4 to 1/2 an avocado will be sufficient.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. Consuming enough protein (about 0.8-1.0 g/lb. of bodyweight). Fat free Greek yogurt is a great fat loss food because it ticks the two most important boxes: low calorie and high protein. Any food like this will be extremely helpful on your journey.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the importance of balance, and incorporating your favorite foods regardless of their calories. This will help you with sustainability - which is extremely important. It’s a give and take. If you incorporate higher calorie foods, simply plan them into your day. Reduce calories elsewhere. Do intermittent fasting, for example. But don’t consume high calorie foods in excess or consume them in all 3 meals in a day. That’s NOT balance.⁣⁣

📝 Ingredients
(6 Servings)
* 2 medium cooked chicken breasts shredded or chopped (we used rotisserie chicken)
* 2 ripe avocados pitted and diced
* 1/2 cup corn roasted, canned, or frozen
* 1/4 cup red or green onion minced
* 2 tablespoons cilantro minced (or parsley or dill)
* 2 tablespoons lime or lemon juice
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
1. In a large bowl, add the shredded chicken, avocado, onion, avocados, corn, and cilantro.

2. Drizzle with the lime (or lemon) juice, olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Toss gently until all the Ingredients are combined.

Grilled Chicken with Avocado Salsa 🍗🥑🍅

👨‍🍳Preparation 
1. In a large bowl, whisk all the ingredients for the marinade and set aside. 
2. Pound the breasts to even thickness or slice in half horizontally to get evenly sized breasts and add to the bowl of marinade. Mix through until the chicken is fully coated in the marinade. Use right away if needed or marinate for 30-minutes or up to 12 hours.

3. Grill chicken over medium-high heat or in a large heavy-duty skillet on the stovetop for 5-6 minutes per side or until the inside is cooked through and the outside is charred. Top with fresh avocado salsa and serve immediately.

4. To Make Avocado Salsa

5. While the chicken is grilled, combine all the ingredients for the salsa in a small bowl. Cover with plastic wrap in the fridge until ready to use.

The proportion of each can either be helpful or detrimental to your goal. Whether you want to get bigger or smaller your calorie intake has to match. To be smaller, you have to eat less than you burn. To get bigger, you have to eat more than you burn

The macros here are just general guidelines to help you plan out your nutritional intake. Emphasis to get in adequate protein is always important and the amount of Fat vs. Carbs can fluctuate based significantly, as you can see above. There is definitely room to manoeuvre in the percentages I’ve listed

Don’t be afraid of carbs. Especially if you are trying to add muscle. When trying to lose weight though, add them in after your protein and carb values have been established 👍🏼

Meats 🥩 - Research shows that alcohol prevents your body from absorbing certain amino acids. In fact, chronic alcohol consumption can lead to amino acid deficiencies. Your body breaks down protein into amino acids, making it a good choice during a hangover.

Pickles 💚 - Pickles are high in sodium, an electrolyte that is depleted during excessive drinking. Eating pickles or drinking their brine may help boost your sodium levels and overcome your hangover.

ℹ️ La energía que necesita nuestro cuerpo se obtiene a partir de los macronutrientes, que se encuentran en los alimentos que consumimos. Todas las kcal que consumimos provienen de los macronutrientes. Los micronutrientes (vitaminas y minerales) no tienen kcal.

ℹ️ Existen 4 macronutrientes: proteínas🍗, grasas🥑, carbohidratos🥔 y alcohol🍷.​ En términos de energía, 1 gramo de proteína aporta 4 kcal; 1 gramo de grasa aporta 9 kcal; 1 gramo de carbohidrato aporta 4 kcal; 1 gramo de alcohol aporta 7 kcal.

👉 En este post me voy a centrar en los 3 primeros macronutrientes, que son los que nos aportan los nutrientes esenciales que necesitamos para vivir y tener buena salud. El alcohol no aporta nutrientes☝️, solo kcal; por eso nos referimos a las calorías que provienen del alcohol como “calorías vacías”👎. Lo mejor que puedes hacer es evitar el consumo de alcohol✖️

🤔 Ahora que ya sabes cuáles son los tres macros principales, ¿cómo saber cuánto debes consumir de cada uno?

🔤 En la imagen podrás ver unas PAUTAS ORIENTATIVAS, ya que la distribución de macros óptima para una persona puede no serlo para otra y hay muchos factores a tener en cuenta.

Vegan #mangolassi made from blending 3 cups of frozen mangoes (from cubed) and a cup of diluted coconut cream in a blender. You can also use coconut milk and coconut yogurt in the place of the cream if that is an option you would prefer.

I don't get access to as many mangoes around the year as I do bananas, so when I do have mangoes, I jump at the chance to make anything and everything with them. To make eating healthier easier you really need to first figure out the foods you like the most (assuming they’re not cheeseburgers) and find ways to spice them up for more enjoyment

My favorite way to do this is by making sauces, primarily out of Tahini!! (See the next slide for my ingredients) Tahini is okay by itself but place the right things in it and you’re golden!!!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with tahini, it’s basically what peanut butter is to peanuts, but with sesame seeds!
⠀⠀
It’s loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals like magnesium, calcium and is a great source of monounsaturated fats! ⠀⠀
*full disclosure it’s calorie dense, so while it’s good for you, the calories add up fast!
⠀⠀
First buy some tahini! I’m an absolute fiend for hot sauces so I’ll either use sriracha or buffalo sauce to mix in with it. But its just as good without the hot sauce ⠀⠀
I’ll add mustard for some zing, and to counter act the bitter-ness of Tahini I add a little lemon juice and a tad bit of sweetener, you do not need the sweetener if you’re looking to avoid sugar!
⠀⠀
Mix that all up, and add your desired amount of water too thin the sauce out!
⠀⠀
I’ll also thin it out “too much” to have an excuse to throw some grounded flaxseeds in it to thicken it back up. I use any excuse to add my omega 3’s in! 🤙🏼

Fried "Rice" made with Cabbage.  It tasted just like actual fried rice after the cabbaged sauted and softened a little.  I'm going to give this a HUGE 👍 and going into my weekly rotation. .

When I was just starting keto, I constantly text my friend Sarah ( who is like a fountain of Keto knowledge and has had amazing health results from following this way of eating) and asking her all sorts of questions ( mostly, ‘is ... keto?’ 😂). And I had this eureka moment of, WAIT, THIS MEANS I CAN EAT CAULIFLOWER CHEESE!!! I was SO excited, I loveeee the cheesy goodness but never ate it cos I was scared of the fat!!! I went a bit overkill with it at the beginning so haven’t had it in a while, but I just fancied some tonight.. so this big cheesy puddle was amaaazing, especially with bacon & beans ( I was going to chop up the bacon & stir it in but forgot 🤦🏼‍♀️😂) anyways, suuuuuch a comforting meal 🧀 .

When you are in a 'bulking' period, you probably want to gain some muscle. This can be done by a combination of the right diet and weightlifting. 🏋️‍♂️

However, some people struggle with gaining weight. Maybe you say you are already eating a lot, but maybe you are eating less calorie dense foods than you think. 🍔

What does this mean? Well you are probably eating not enough calories in order to gain weight and grow muscle. 👎🏼
~
To fix this you can do 2 simple things. First of all, eat more. That's it, the magic trick. Make sure to get in more calories. A second thing you could do is workimg out less or decreasing your NEAT. Burn less calories and gain more weight by eating the same. 😋😋

When your diet is right, you want to follow a good workoutplan for optimal gains. 💪🏼 if you want to make these gains it is also important to use progressive overload. Increasing your training volume with higher weights, reps or sets is called progressive overload. ☝🏼 ✅

Haven’t posted anything of my own training in a while, mainly because it has been boring AF the last 2 weeks. ⠀
⠀
Picked up a lil back niggle during prep for the last comp & it flared up again on comp day after squats & deads. Went back into training too heavy too soon & paid the price. About 2 weeks ago now I went to some pause squats & couldn’t even do 70 without being in a good deal of pain.⠀
⠀
Ain’t stopping training completely though. The last 2 weeks I’ve been doing mainly machine work for lower body, keeping up volume I’d be missing from S&D. If I can’t do them at my 100% right now I may as well build the muscle there bigger so when I can fully again I will have greater strength potential. ⠀
⠀
Been gradually exposing myself this week to some more hip hinging & squatting variations just paying attention to the load being used & ROM.⠀
⠀
TBH if I had not have been following the likes of @barbell_medicine @triagemethod & @clinicalathlete who put out great info regarding injuries & back pain, I would be in a much worse place - avoiding training, thinking the worst of my situation & probably afraid to get back into PL. Being informed around those topics is incredibly empowering & can even improve your situation from a psychological aspect.⠀

Anyway, bench making moves - 125 for some 5s today inspired by @barbell.stell & @pow_ah ah⠀
