Breakfast 🍳 was never my thing... until NOW! Started this gorgeous but terribly cold 🥶 Sunday with spin 🚲 class then pre natal yoga 🧘🏻‍♀️ and now it's off to my MILs to cook 👩🏻‍🍳 some exciting foods for the IG. Hope you're staying warm 💕

There’s more to me than meets the eye. People constantly tell me how lucky I am not to have loose skin and stretch marks. Well guess what, I do. It’s not nearly as severe as many people's, but it’s still there. And it still haunts me. While losing the weight was one of the biggest things I’ve ever had to overcome in my life, I’m still left with a daily reminder of what once was. My lower body, especially my lower stomach and legs are the most affected. I still don’t ever feel comfortable in a bathing suit or naked.⁣⠀

But aside from my loose skin, there’s more to me than meets the eye. I’m smart as hell, pride myself on high integrity and I’ve overcome some pretty extreme hurdles in my life to be where I am today. It’s taken years but I truly love myself, regardless if there are parts of myself Id still like to change or improve.⁣⠀

This has been my go to for a hot minute now. It's just too easy and tastes delicious! I make it the night before work and grab it out the fridge in the morning 🌸⁠
⠀⁠
⠀⁠
RECIPE:⁠
1 banana⁠
1/2 cup oats⁠
1-2 tbs maple syrup⁠
1/2 cup plant milk (I use oat milk)⁠
1/4 cup blueberries⁠
optional: flax seeds, chia seeds, any other toppings!⁠
Mix all ingredients in tupperware or a jar the evening before and pop in the fridge. Grab in the morning and top with a few more blueberries if you like!⁠

When people talk to me about their diets, I often hear them say how they can’t eat certain foods, or how they have eliminated an entire food or macro group.

➡️They are miserable. They yearn for foods that they aren’t “allowed” to have, but they carry on anyway.

➡️They watch as their family has one thing for dinner and they have something else,
-
➡️They decline the cupcake at the office birthday celebration, because it’s not allowed on their “diet” and they are afraid of getting fat, but they really wanted one.
-
➡️They turn down going to social events because they don’t know how to navigate those situations and stay on their diet so they choose not to go at all. It’s just easier.
-
➡️They have some results early on, but ultimately, the results stop.  They stop because the diet isn’t sustainable. It is restrictive.  It is not flexible and it doesn’t fit into their life.

Sound vaguely familiar?

I did every single one of the above and I was miserable. It’s no way to live.

Look, If you want to lose fat:
-
✅Find a modest calorie deficit.
✅Get adequate protein to keep you full and to maintain and build muscle.
✅Eat mostly nutrient dense foods.
✅ Include foods you love along the way.
-
But you do NOT have to exclude entire food groups or macros to lose fat.
-
You do NOT have turn down a cupcake at the office party if you want to lose fat. If you want a cupcake, have a damn cupcake.
-
You do NOT have to avoid restaurants and social situations if you want to lose fat.
-
The best diet for you?
-
A way of eating that works for you and for your lifestyle. One that you can sustain, and one that makes you happy.

If there is one thing I’ve learned over my 59 years, it’s that life is way too short to be miserable.

So start to find YOUR way of eating that will help you reach your goals and fit into your life:

A modest calorie deficit
Adequate protein
Include foods you love along the way

This week we've had a lot of conversations with members about inflammation. Inflammation can cause a litany of health and performance issues. Ever wake up and your knee is really sore from the workout the day before? Ever weighed heavy on the scale after a night out with friends?⁠
Hello, inflammation (of some sort). ⁠

Inflammation gets a bad rap, as it is a necessary process to heal the body. If you break your arm the affected area will swell up and get hot as the body shuttles fluids and resources like white blood cells to begin repairing the damage. ⁠

Inflammation is one of the first steps in the healing process. BUT your body is designed to keep you safe and comfortable. It doesn't know the difference between a broken arm and a sore knee. At a very basic level, it just prioritizes healing damaged cells and tissue. Enter FOOD!⁠

Factors like sleep, diet, stress can create negative effects within the body on a cellular level, re-enter inflammation. The body is once again trying to make you, the host, as comfortable as possible by healing the "traumatized areas". This can often feel like stiffness, discomfort, or even pain in a certain area of the body.⁠

The good news is that we can use food to help us relieve this sort of systematic inflammation. ⁠
Foods like: ⁠
Veggies contain phytonutrients that help fight off inflammation-causing bacteria. ⁠
Wild-caught salmon contains Omega 3s which helps to reduce inflammation. ⁠
Other foods include:⁠
Green tea⁠
Turmeric⁠
Ginger⁠

Next time your feeling a little stiff, reach for some Turmeric or Ginger in a veggie smoothie instead of ibuprofen. ⁠

Tänkte jag skulle ta en gratis vecka på Friskis, ringde dit i fredags för säkerhets skull och frågade om jag hade rätt till de och de hade jag. Kommer in och dom säger att jag inte har rätt till det i och med att jag hade kort där i mars iår. Okej?! Men jag ringde ju hit och kollade i fredags. ”Då måste vi sagt fel” säger dom och ser lite frågande ut. Okej tänker jag... kan jag få träna här idag då eftersom ni sagt fel till mig? Väl inne och kört igång och kört några reps knäböj så dör hörlurarna. Asså hur kan man ha så mycket otur på en och samma gång. Går ner till affären och ska handla, glömmer köp lök och väl påväg hem hittar jag inte mina hemnycklar. Låste jag inte? Är jag förvirrad eller vad händer, har lite lätt pms idag men vad har världen emot mig?! Nää nu ska jag hem och laga lite matlådor, sen blir det kebabsallad, de är jag värd. Känsloätare, ja! Do you ever see a picture that you can’t recognize yourself in? That’s exactly how I felt after having this taken! I FELT small and beautiful (albeit windswept 🌬) but all I SAW was someone totally foreign staring back at me. Of course, I didn’t feel so small and beautiful anymore after that.

Yesterday, I walked 10,602 steps. It was the first day in over a month I’ve seen anywhere close to that number (typically ranging between 300 steps on a low day to 1200 steps on a high day). Today, I’m sore. I want nothing more than to stay in bed all morning instead of showing up for myself and getting a walk in. But, I don’t want to be unrecognizable to myself anymore. I want to be able to be comfortably photographed and make memories like these ones without feeling so self conscious while doing so.

There’s 45 days left in 2019, and I intend to make them count! Who’s with me?

❗️An important point most people miss is that the ‘total set number’ done per week is about the same as for body part split routines (e.g. Back day, Chest day, Leg day, Arm day, Abs and Shoulders day). ⁣
⁣
For example, if you do 30 sets for legs on a leg day once a week, transitioning to a whole body program, you will train 6 days a week, but do only 5 sets for your legs every day. This give a total of  30 sets in a week. ⁣

Advantages of whole body training vs body part split👇🏻⁣

⁣
✅ Most of my clients tell me that after transitioning to a whole body routine they recover faster, they don’t get sore any more (getting sore is BAD!! In contrast to what many people think) and they can lift more weight. ⁣
⁣
⁣
This totally makes sense, because if you start training your legs fresh every day, you have more strength compared to the end of a leg day when you have to do heavy leg press after you have already done heavy squats. Have fun with that! ⁣

Lifting more weight makes your strength progress faster, thus, helps you to build more muscle. Whole body routine for the win!⁣
⁣
⁣
✅ Also, body part split slows down the progress of lifters with more than 2-3 years of serious strength training experience. With increasing lifting age the time period muscle grow after training decreases to 16-24 hours. ⁣
⁣
⚠️ This means if you hit your legs once a week they don’t grow for 6 days a week!! ⁣
⁣
If you hit them every day, they grow the entire week. ⁣
⁣
Think about it this way, if you are an advanced lifter, the progress you make in 6 years on a body part split routine, you can make in 1 year if you switch to a whole body routine😉⁣

Wyobraź sobie, że Twoje życie to układanka składająca się z elementów wybieranych przez Ciebie. Puzzle, którymi nią budujesz to ludzie, emocje i wartości. To Ty decydujesz jak ona będzie wyglądać. Pewien ktoś posklejał mnie w całość. Dał mi ciepło, miłość, wsparcie, a przede wszystkim wiarę. Dał mi przestrzeń. Nie chciał mnie zmieniać. Zaakceptował moje wady i adoruje zalety. Nauczył mnie kochać samą siebie. Nauczył wierzyć w spełnianie marzeń. Każdemu życzę posiadania takiej osoby u swojego boku. Ten rok był najlepszym w moim życiu. Bagaż wcześniejszych doświadczeń niekoniecznie najlepszych pomógł mi poprzestawiać pozostałe puzzle. Im jestem starsza tym więcej dostrzegam. Nigdy nie postawię w swojej hierarchii nic ponad rodzinę. Moja towarzyska natura redukuje toksycznych znajomych do garstki prawdziwych i szczerych przyjaciół. Słomiany zapał wymieniam na systematyczność. Nadal uczę się asertywności i zdrowego egoizmu. Ponadprzeciętna empatia i altruizm nie ułatwiają tego zadania. Uczę się zaufania wobec tych, którym powinnam ufać i dystansu do nieodpowiednich osób. Zawsze lubiłam intensywne życie. Nauka, treningi, spotkania z przyjaciółmi, później i praca– nigdzie nie chciałam zawieść. Nieprzespane noce, nieumiejętność odpoczynku odbiły się niekorzystnie na moim zdrowiu. Nie byłabym jednak sobą gdybym nie próbowała się w to zagłębić. Na tyle ten temat mnie zaciekawił, że chciałabym pomóc nie tylko sobie, ale i innym osobom w przyszłości. Dlatego się szkolę i chcę poświęcić na to każdą wolną chwilę. Projekt ten nazwę Efektem Motyla. Pozwoli on zrozumieć jak zadbać o zdrowie, odpoczynek oraz jak umiejętnie prowadzić treningi, by nie skutkowało to negatywnie na inne płaszczyzny naszego życia.

Hallo ihr Schönen ✨ Heute gibt bei mir nicht viel zu berichten. Meine Sonntage laufen immer nach Schema X: Sofa und nichts tun. 
Wobei ich heute auch meine Küche etwas aussortiert und geordnet habe 😋 Normalerweise möchte ich ja eine neue Küche aber ich habe immernoch nicht die Lust gefunden mich an die Planung zu wagen 😅 Außerdem blutet mir auch schon das Herz bei dem Gedanken wie viel Geld so eine Küche kostet... Ich muss mich aber wirklich so langsam ranmachen... Denn seit ein paar Tagen geht mein Backofen nicht mehr 🙄 [Unbezahlte Werbung] Gestern gab es bei mir ein rotes Thai-Curry von @hellofreshde 🤤 Wer mir schon etwas länger folgt, weiß wie sehr ich Curry und Maultaschen liebe.
