Okay, so after martial arts, I headed immediately to IHOP for an emergency "cheat meal." I hate calling it a "cheat meal" since it's more of a refuel or recharge meal. Lately I've been feeling very shitty, drained, and depressed. Over the past few weeks I have been feeling very drained from some of the worst colitis and Crohn's flare-ups of my life. Ironically, working out makes those flare-ups less intense. However, it's been difficult the come up with the energy to have satisfying workouts. After going to the doctor's last week, I realized that I had ulcer infections, and I've been on antibiotics since. Besides dealing with my IBDs, my depression has been worse than usual and I don't even know why. I've just been feeling an exponential increase in loneliness. I'm so glad I'll be seeing my family over the next few days for Thanksgiving. This might be one of the longest stretches I've gone without seeing my family.

So, since I'm awake, I decided to make breakfast. I made 4 scrambled eggs and 4 strips of bacon with blackberries and dates. Once I finish eating, I'm going back to sleep.

Today was chest day 2 and also lats day. I ended up doing most of my lats workouts at home since the gym closes much earlier on weekends. After doing my cardio and before finishing my lats workout, I recharged a little bit by eating some tuna and salmon sushi. I was very fitting since I was wearing my Jed North sushi stringer. After my lats workout, I noticed how much my veins were popping out in my chest, shoulders, upper arms, and forearms. I took a couple pictures, but I don't think they captured just how much my veins very popping out. They keep becoming more and more visible as I become leaner during this cutting cycle. I also think I'm improving at my lats spread pose even though I think it still sucks.

Back to the macro counting grind 🤗 Once I started doing this a lot of things clicked into place. The shift from counting calories to counting macros might seem like an arbitrary change but I think it leads to a healthier perspective. Counting calories puts people in a restricted mindset that teaches them to think of calories as something negative. Counting macros teaches you that food is fuel and what you eat matters. See the difference 😉. I was definitely eating too little protein and waaaaaayyyyy too many carbs for years! .
For the next few weeks I'm useing some RP Templates that breakdown 3 phases of fatloss, which mean I'll be gradually lowering my calories when I hit a plateau.  Over the weeks my fats and carbs will go down, but my protein will remain the same for the entire cut.

Today is rest day, so I had breakfast in bed because I can. I had 4 eggs, 4 strips of bacon, 4 dates, a handful of raspberries, and a glass of milk with creatine. Even though it's my rest day, I'm still going to do cardio today.

Today was day 9 of my 10-day deconditioning period. I can start my regular weightlifting routine again on Thursday. Today was another lower back day doing deadlifts and back extensions. I only had time to do 30 minutes of cardio today. I blame my cat for being too cute. lol! (See my previous post.) I was surprised on how tight I could make my weightlifting belt tonight. I haven't been able to make it that tight in a long time. lol! I'm glad my cutting cycle is almost over. I'm starting to see my abs again after a very long time. I'm still very upset about how I'm feeling during the tail-end of my cutting cycle. I feel small. I even look small in some of these pictures, especially in the selfie I took on the back extension machine. On the flip side, I'm looking a lot better and I haven't lost any strength whatsoever. My pecs are looking even better with a flat stomach. I can't wait to start my clean bulk and get my weight up to where I want it for competition. Lately I've been looking at myself and I'm starting to doubt myself that I'll be ready for a competition this upcoming summer. But you would think that 15 years of training would be enough, right? So, fuck it! Whether I get my body where I want it or not, I'm still going to compete just for the hell of it. At least the "fuck it" philosophy makes that one less thing I have to worry about. lol!

I got my meal prep done for the week last night. I made brown rice, broccoli, and chicken breasts marinated and seasoned with soy sauce, onion powder, and Asian five spice powder. I'm behind with posts and still need to post my workouts from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I'll be catching up in the next couple days.

So, I've been pretty upset with my waking weight the past few mornings. I've been weighing 188 lbs. which is WAY too low. I never even wanted my weight to drop below 195 lbs. during my cutting cycle, but it was fluctuating between 192 and 195 lbs. However, I was 194 lbs. on Saturday night before bed but somehow lost 6 lbs. overnight. Today is the beginning of week 15 of what's supposed a 16-week cutting cycle. That means I've lost 22 lbs. within just under 15 weeks. I'm not trying to lose that much weight. I'm trying to maintain weight while cutting bodyfat. So, I'm upset that I've lost this much weight and it feels like I've lost years worth of progress. Maybe that's all in my head. I'm eventually going to have to get my weight back up to 200-205 lbs. for my upcoming competitions while still maintaining a low bodyfat percentage. Trying to get my ideal contest body composition is probably my greatest challenge.

I've also been listening to my body a lot lately, especially last week. My body is telling me that it's time for a 10-day deconditioning period. I was planning to do a 10-day deconditioning period at the end of my cutting cycle. Since it's week 15 of my cutting cycle, it seems appropriate to start my deconditioning period. Whenever I do a deconditioning period, I stop working out the major muscle groups for 10 days and focus only on cardio and what I like to call "auxiliary muscles." So, I've been pretty upset with my waking weight the past few mornings. I've been weighing 188 lbs. which is WAY too low. I never even wanted my weight to drop below 195 lbs. during my cutting cycle, but it was fluctuating between 192 and 195 lbs. However, I was 194 lbs. on Saturday night before bed but somehow lost 6 lbs. overnight. Today is the beginning of week 15 of what's supposed a 16-week cutting cycle. That means I've lost 22 lbs. within just under 15 weeks. I'm not trying to lose that much weight. I'm trying to maintain weight while cutting bodyfat. So, I'm upset that I've lost this much weight and it feels like I've lost years worth of progress. Maybe that's all in my head. I'm eventually going to have to get my weight back up to 200-205 lbs. for my upcoming competitions while still maintaining a low bodyfat percentage. Trying to get my ideal contest body composition is probably my greatest challenge.

I've also been listening to my body a lot lately, especially last week. My body is telling me that it's time for a 10-day deconditioning period. I was planning to do a 10-day deconditioning period at the end of my cutting cycle. Since it's week 15 of my cutting cycle, it seems appropriate to start my deconditioning period. Whenever I do a deconditioning period, I stop working out the major muscle groups for 10 days and focus only on cardio and what I like to call "auxiliary muscles." So here are a few things I've eaten during this cutting cycle. Yesterday, I spent the day with my aunt, uncle, and grandma. We went out to Five Guys for lunch. Five Guys does lettuce wraps instead of burger buns. It's pretty cool. They layer the more rounded lettuce leaves on top and layer the flatter lettuce leaves on the bottom. I've been craving a juicy burger for so long, but I haven't had one since I would have to take it off the buns. This lettuce wrap burger solves that problem. It was very delicious. I will get one of their burgers as a lettuce wrap again. I'm also still eating my peanut butter and fruit wraps with unsweetened natural peanut butter, but I decided to switch it up lately and cut up some black grapes instead of the usual strawberries. I think I like the peanut butter fruit wraps with grapes more than strawberries.

4 months into #fitnesslife and I have to say,  Im #feelingmyself.  May 2019 I woke up tired of being #skinnyfat . 
I made a decision to #committofit .  Always being a skinny guy, spending most of my adult life at 5’10 150#. My initial focus was on #bulking adding 25#. I began to really enjoy the added size but decided to clean it up.  I started the #cuttingcycle 3 weeks ago and again very happy with the progress. 
I have 3 more weeks on this cut then plan to finish the winter packing on more mass.

First key advice I will give to anyone that is going towards any kind of goal is that you first have to change your mindset, you can't help yourself, or anyone else if your mindset is fucked up.
