Don’t have time to completely cut down? Here’s what I do! * add some cardio (I like the stair master)
* 4 sets of 20 leg raises
* 4 sets of 25 crunches
* 4 sets of 20 bicycle crunches
* EVERYDAY before your trip!! _

Food🥩: leaner ground beef, lower the carb intake, remove sugary snacks and fried/high-sodium foods, limit beverages to coffee, water, and protein shakes!! (And these are generally good tips for daily life so when it ever comes down to a quick cut, you won’t be too far off😉). _

T- minus 2 days!! ✈️ HAPPY SUNDAY! 😊

SYMMETRY doesn’t exist. We all have a dominant side and minor strength & muscle imbalances. It’s normal.
.
HOWEVER, If your training is highly unbalanced, you  could be feeding into these natural asymmetries and putting yourself at risk of injury. It’s very common amongst gym goers and a dominant reason why aches, pains, stiff joints and tight muscles are ‘the norm’.
.
3️⃣ things you can do to prevent this happening:
.
1️⃣ Base your training on movement patterns NOT individual muscle groups.
.
📝 Squat, Hinge, Lunge/Split Stance, Upper Push, Upper Pull (Horizontal & Vertical plane).
.
Exercises from these categories should form the base of your training. Isolation work should be sprinkled in secondary to this.
.
2️⃣ Do plenty of core, hip and shoulder stability work.
.
📝 For the core, don’t forget any of the 3 primary categories: anti-extension, anti-lateral flexion, anti-rotations. For the shoulders, go to town on external rotation work, lower trap work and scapula / rotator cuff stability drills. For the hips, do some work for your hip flexors, lateral glutes (abductors) and inside leg (adductors) ... these muscles tend to get neglected.
.
3️⃣ Program unilateral and offset loading periodically.
.
📝 If you’re married to the Barbell, you may be favoring your dominant side. Using Dumbbells forces both sides of your body to work independently. Program lots of single leg and single arm exercises like split squats, lateral lunges, single arm press and single arm rows. Alternating presses are fantastic also. Offset loading is another method that provides unique challenges to one side of the body.

ASP SHRED CHALLENGE 2.0 has been extremely successful and we have participants giving it there all.

No matter what the $1500 prize is a great incentive to get people going but the real reward is the life style changes, friends, support and comradely involved with a joint effort such as this.

With 3 more weeks we wanted to see how everyone is going so far and we couldn’t be more proud of the accomplishments of our shredders so far.

We are eyeing the possibility of a shred challenge 3-4 months into next year with the potential for a bigger prize pool.

Les cuento algo.. ese día estaba indispuesta y no estaba en condiciones de dar mi clase.. tal es así que había pensado en ese momento no atender a mis alumnas por esa ocasión. 
Pero las palabras de mi hijo en ese momento fueron: «Mamá .. no dejes de hacerlas entrenar.. dame la oportunidad de demostrarte que puedo hacerlo.. confía en mí .. he aprendido mucho de tí.. no te haré quedar mal» y así fué... confié como siempre en él y la verdad que lo hizo espectacular!!!!! One of my all-time fave waist-shrinking exercises!! Listen to the instructions on the vid... but keep in mind, to get the most out of this exercise... you'll want to ensure that you do your Pilates ZIP UP first... ⁠⠀
I do this exercise when I'm doing Pilates, but I also love to throw this and other Pilates exercises in-between sets of weight lifting exercises (as active rest). For example, on a shoulder day, at the end of a super-set of all Shoulder exercises, I'll throw some hundreds in at the end of each set to get some quality abs in while letting my shoulders rest a bit. ⁠⠀
🔑Why I love Pilates: Pilates has helped me to permanently, structurally changed my core. I lost over 2 inches from my ribs all the way to the smallest part of my waist without losing fat or weight in general. I retrained my core for an over-all smaller waistline and better posture... this ish is like magic when you hit the form and do it with consistency ... ✨...⁠⠀

📍The arm pump comes from the shoulder hinge, not the elbow or wrist and your torso should NOT move with it. It should only be your arms moving in the pump. ⁠⠀

REFOCUS: 
Last few weeks have been terribly challenging for me mentally. Always trying to be the best Dad, husband, coach, friend, son, business owner, and athlete can definitely be a little overwhelming. Balancing so many things can definitely be stressful and overwhelming. To the point that when I am trying to do a million things at once, I just to end up doing none. 
So I realized I was trying to do too much shit all at once without having a plan. Traveling for a week threw me completely out of routine and I hadn’t gotten my groove back until now. what I decided to do was to take a step back, and reset. Wrote down every task I need to get done this week and set it on my calendar, not only do I have more than enough time to accomplish everything, now I have even schedule a couple of 20 minutes power naps before picking up my son from school 😂.. Sometimes we can get disorganized and confuse movement with progress. That can be very stressful and overwhelming. If you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed or just burnt out. Take a step back, take a look at the big picture, prioritize and organize your tasks and execute them one at a time.
2019 has been my best year yet and I’m not about to take my foot off the pedal now.

Control the things you can control. Let’s crush this week and finish 2019 even stronger than how it started 😤
