Sharing what FOOD FREEDOM means to me~

When 4pm hits I’m ALWAYS craving a sweet treat - anyone else? While I don’t ignore a craving, given my lifestyle, I often prefer snacks that are well rounded, filling & nutrient dense (and without unnecessary added sugars). When you genuinely enjoy eating healthy, you do often crave nutrient dense foods, naturally!

I tried these @drinkorgain vegan protein shakes a month or so back & have been really enjoying them. I feel like they satisfy my sweet tooth (legit taste like chocolate milk with 0g of sugar) while also satiating my mind and body. Win win! Choosing a balanced snack over something more dessert-like helps me feel satiated longer and gives me more energy throughout the day.

I’m a big believer in incorporating dessert and sugar into a healthy lifestyle - whatever that means to you (for me - it’s usually froyo!) … In any case, it’s important to have mindset that allows to treat yourself (and enjoy it, guilt free) when you genuinely want to! It’s part of a sustainable healthy life style, aka balance. When food balance exists, that’s when you truly find food freedom: making choices that honor you in the moment, so you can carry on with your day. Call me vain if ya want but I was damn proud to show off my bod (to the gym mirror) today. I convinced myself at work earlier that I didn’t need to go to the gym because I felt a cold coming on, I had to work until 9pm and open at 9am tomorrow, I was sore from yesterday’s workout - all of which were a bunch of bullshit excuses. In the last hour of my workday I decided to shift my perspective to the exact opposite mindset and made it to the gym for a short, hour-long but productive-as-hell workout that made me feel fucking great about myself, my body and the hard work I put in to myself not only physically, but mentally. Tonight’s gym sesh was more than worth it and I’m excited to keep challenging my inner dialogue and pushing myself to do better, be better and FEEL better. Here’s to #bootygainz and muscle painz.🙌🏼 •

One thing about social media that I inspired people with my hard work and dedication, when I was overweight I was depressed and had so much anxiety that I never knew what I should do about it so I took someone advice and started lifting and getting healthier. I improve myself every day by working hard and helping others reaching there goals and Fitness matter to me alot because I love the grind and the amount of hours I put in and to see results and I'm enjoying this more and more and I'm always working out with great people around me. I've made so much progress thanks to Kevin @deathbybarbells at Fitness 4:13 in #troytx. I've lost 20 lbs and gained muscle mass at the same time. I didn't have any clue what I was doing in the gym. Luckily, Kevin is very knowledgeable and continues to help me on my fitness journey. If you've never considered getting #personaltraining, I recommend you try it at least once. Getting in shape takes dedication, determination, discipline, and consistency, and you all have that within you. My body is my temple, and I will make sure I maintain it! Come maintain yours! 💪

She would show up for her workouts sometimes with a migraine, not feeling well, not wanting to workout, yet she was always consistent ! We made adjustments to her diet and exercise program for a long term sustainable goal! Let me tell you the two hardest/yet most important things about maintaining a healthy exercise routine:

1) STARTING. Starting is one of the hardest things to do . Once you start, don't stop. What's stopping you? If you're waiting for the perfect circumstances, then you will never start. 
2) stay consistent ! Keep going !!🙌🏼 if you have bad days, just get back on the groove of things as soon as you can... why should one bad day or one bad week ruin all your hard work ? Christmas holidays starts in a month time... 2 weeks of eating, drinking, spending quality time with our loved ones, travelling, etc... Don't get me wrong, Christmas is my favourite holiday of them all, but I know what's going to happen... In the next two weeks, you won't really come to the classes, as you are running around buying presents, organise holidays, taking part in Christmas events etc... As the holidays are over, you will promise yourself that 2020 will be your year, and you will get healthy and fit...but first, you need to make sure that kids are ok back at school, you don't have an outfit to wear in the class, it's raining, it's dark, you think you are not fit enough to get started etc... Now if it sounds like your own conversation in your head, I got you! I've been there, done it! But let me tell you the other side of the story now!

Imagine, if you would not give up on the classes, you promised yourself that you deserve 1hr of the day to take care of yourself, you have lots of energy running errands in the mall, lot of people compliments the way you look in the Christmas parties, you feel confident in your skin, and you don't feel guilty to eat that lovely piece of cheescake, because you earned it! 
In January, you can not wait to get started again, cause you know it is so worth it! 
Just look in the mirror and be proud of yourself! You deserve it and your family too to get the best version of you!
They will be much more happy to see an energetic, confident, smiley you, than the one, who is complaning that ate a piece of cake and for sure gained 2 stones already... You have 1 month to make a difference! You got this! You deserve it! You so worth it! Trust me, your family will be thankful!

Christmas holidays starts in a month time... 2 weeks of eating, drinking, spending quality time with our loved ones, travelling, etc... Don't get me wrong, Christmas is my favourite holiday of them all, but I know what's going to happen... In the next two weeks, you won't really come to the classes, as you are running around buying presents, organise holidays, taking part in Christmas events etc... As the holidays are over, you will promise yourself that 2020 will be your year, and you will get healthy and fit...but first, you need to make sure that kids are ok back at school, you don't have an outfit to wear in the class, it's raining, it's dark, you think you are not fit enough to get started etc... Now if it sounds like your own conversation in your head, I got you! I've been there, done it! But let me tell you the other side of the story now!

Imagine, if you would not give up on the classes, you promised yourself that you deserve 1hr of the day to take care of yourself, you have lots of energy running errands in the mall, lot of people compliments the way you look in the Christmas parties, you feel confident in your skin, and you don't feel guilty to eat that lovely piece of cheescake, because you earned it!
In January, you can not wait to get started again, cause you know it is so worth it!
Just look in the mirror and be proud of yourself! You deserve it and your family too to get the best version of you!
They will be much more happy to see an energetic, confident, smiley you, than the one, who is complaning that ate a piece of cake and for sure gained 2 stones already... You have 1 month to make a difference! You got this! You deserve it! You so worth it! Trust me, your family will be thankful!
