Building beautiful but tasty bowls 🔥 always using a simple formula with 95% of my meals. This meal is done in 30 minutes. Sweet potato mash is quick to make. It requires no extra calories to make either unlike white potatoes. The smaller you chop your potatoes the quicker they cook 👨‍🍳

Heißt: Jede Mahlzeit, auch Snacks, sollte Kohlenhydrate, Proteine & Fette enthalten! .
Ich hatte euch vorgestern dem Tipp mit dem Porridge gegeben - mich sättigt Porridge zum Beispiel nur, wenn ich neben einer Proteinquelle ( z.B. Whey unterrühren ) auch eine Fettquelle hinzufüge - zum Beispiel Nussmus als Topping 🍯🥜 .
Habt ihr dahingehend auch schon positive Erfahrungen gemacht oder müsst ihr den Tipp noch ausprobieren?

We like to idolize and demonize most things. We crave affirmation that what we believe in is universally correct. An example can easily be found in those idolizing their favourite sports team, whilst demonizing that team’s bitter rival. Yet, if put into non-emotional, neutral context, both teams are merely trying to beat each other by the same means.⁣

We idolize some foods because we believe them to be ‘better’ for us - we want affirmation that our consumption is correct. We demonize other foods because we believe they are ‘worse’ for us - we want affirmation that consuming these foods is incorrect. But in isolation, no food is correct or incorrect, it’s just different. ⁣
⁣
In this example we have avocado on brown bread and Nutella on white bread. The former is often idolized, whilst the latter is usually demonised or associated with guilt. Yet in this example, consumption of the former means enjoyment, more nutrients and fibre, but also more calories. Whereas consumption of the latter means enjoyment, less nutrients and fibre, but in this example, significantly fewer calories.⁣

Therefore the avocado toast may be a good idea if the goal is to consume more nutrients and potentially enhance satiety, but the Nutella toast may support calorie reduction. These outcomes ultimately depend on overall dietary intake. ⁣

Sometimes our unwillingness to consider what we don’t believe in (known as confirmation bias) take us away from what is actually true. Believing foods to be good or bad without inserting overall context is to digress from what matters most. Eating any food should be an enjoyable process. But it should be done in a place where feelings of ‘good or bad’ are replaced with understanding, reality and ease. ⁣

This Bread is SERIOUSLY DELIGHTFUL!

The ingredients and method are very easy which makes this excellent for a #breakfast #snack or #dessert option.

Add all of your ingredients to the blender, bake while you're showering...you'll then be beckoned back into your kitchen by a heavenly aroma, and your family will think you're a professional Baker with superhuman capabilities!

makes 12 servings

Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats
1 tsp baking soda 
1/2 tsp salt 
3 ripe bananas
1/4 cup raw honey or maple syrup
2 large #eggs
cinnamon, vanilla, nuts, optional
2 Tbsps melted ghee, butter, or oil 
1/4 cup #chocolate chips

Instructions:
Preheat oven 350 degrees and line an 8x4 inch loaf pan.

Place the oats and baking soda in a blender, and add in the remaining ingredients, except for the chocolate chips, and pulse. Stir in the chocolate chips, then pour the mixture into your loaf pan.

If you want to, sprinkle chocolate chips and set 1/2 of a sliced #banana on top of the #bread as shown to make it look pretty.

Bake for 35-45 minutes

Allow bread to cool on a rack, then slice and serve!

It’s a great delicious and healthier version

It’s scrambled egg brunch bowl kind of a day, with chili roasted sweet potatoes 🍠, red bell pepper 🌶, red onion, scallions, cilantro 🌿, avocado 🥑and crispy bacon 🥓. Happy weekend! To make the scrambled egg bowl:
.
1 sweet potato.
6 strips of bacon.
Chili powder.
Sea salt.
Black pepper.
4 large eggs.
1/2 tablespoon butter 
1/2 tablespoon olive oil.
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper.
2 tablespoons chopped red onion.
1 chopped scallions.
Handful chopped cilantro.
1 avocado cut into chunks.

Preheat oven to 425. Peel and dice sweet potato into 1 inch pieces. Bake for 15 minutes. While the sweet potatoes cook, line a microwave safe plate with paper towels. Place 6 strips of bacon onto paper towel lined plate. Cover with another layer of paper towels. Microwave for 4 minutes or until bacon is crispy. Beat 4 large eggs in a bowl. Heat a pan on the stove top with 1/2 tablespoon butter and 1/2 tablespoon olive oil. Add chopped red onions and bell pepper to the heated pan. Sauté veggies for 3-4 minutes until they start to tender. Set heat to medium-low. Add the eggs into the veggies and let sit for 30 seconds lightly scramble then add sweet potato and crumbled bacon. Continue to softly scramble until mixed well and eggs are fluffy. Top with scallions and cilantro, season with salt and black pepper. Transfer to bowls and top with fresh avocado. Serves 2.  ____________________

1️⃣Eating fruits & veggies: Eating your fruits and veggies will help you get your micronutrients your body needs! These include your vitamins, minerals and fiber! This can help your gut and prevent constipation! ⁣

2️⃣Protein intake: Eating enough protein can help your body recover! Your body uses protein to build and repair tissues! It can also help you stay full longer and help retain/build muscle mass! ⁣

3️⃣Water consumption: Drinking enough water will keep your hydrated! It will also help you maintain the balance of body fluids! Water can also be used as a weight loss strategy to help you feel full! ⁣

4️⃣Weight train: Weight training can help you retain or build muscle mass! ⁣

5️⃣Walking: Walking is a simple and great way to get your steps in! It can be really relaxing and it will help your cardiovascular endurance! Your heart will be thanking you!⁣

I’ve decided I’m an 80/20 person. This means 80% of the food I eat will be healthy and 20% I’ll eat specifically because it tastes good. My coach is a 95/5 person. That’s what works for her. That wouldn’t work for me. Mostly because of my past relationship with food. ⁣⁣

For years I told myself I couldn’t have certain things. I couldn’t have bread or pasta or chips or cake etc...etc. On an almost daily basis, I felt like I was missing out because while other people were just enjoying food, it was controlling me. Food was never just food. It was calories or carbs or sugar and I felt like I couldn’t eat those things. So I didn’t. Which sounds like the healthy choice, and it was physically, but it made me miserable. ⁣⁣

I want to eat healthy, but I don’t want to restrict myself. I don’t want to give up garlic bread twice a week. I don’t want to give up eating ice cream out of the carton with my husband. I don’t want to make cookies and feel like I can’t taste them. I don’t want to go to restaurants and feel like I have to order a salad. I also don’t want to do one or two of these things (like eat the ice cream) and then feel like I have to eat perfect for the rest of the week. ⁣⁣

I have restricted in the past and it’s just not good for me. And honestly eating healthy 80% of the time feels doable. I don’t feel like I’m missing out. I don’t feel trapped because I can’t eat sugar or glutton. It’s naturally how I eat. I love fruits and vegetables. Chicken is my favorite protein. I’m not a huge fan of most fried food. My go to comfort food is the darkest chocolate you can find. I eat pretty well, but it’s not a 95/5. I would say it’s pretty close to a 80/20. ⁣⁣

I could feel guilty that I’m not eating as healthy as I could or I could just let myself keep enjoying food. Really, those are my two options and I want to keep enjoying. I want to be able to look at a plate like this and not feel guilty about the fries. So I’ve set realistic parameters for me. I’ve set an achievable goal for myself instead of a goal that feels impossible. I’ve set myself up to succeed instead of fail, all the while, still taking care of my body.

We’ve all heard people talk about “Liquid calories being bad”...right? This term should be pretty self-explanatory, but just in case, it refers to any source of calories that doesn’t come from solid food. That includes your favorite classic Coke, protein shakes, wine, fruit juice, etc. ⠀

👀We have also heard that if we’re trying to get healthier, it is important to cut out liquid calories. ⠀
The argument is: liquid food is less satiating than solid food, meaning that it takes more of it to make you feel full...and it is true, if you are trying to lose weight and you need to restrict your calories, you should definitely be more mindful of the liquid calories you consume. But if you are on an #IntuitiveEating journey, or just trying to have a healthier more balanced life where weight loss is not your only goal, consuming liquid calories should not scare you. They are not as bad as they say.😉⠀
