Gotta work the chest ladies and help the girls 🍈🍈 sit up nicely ! It can’t all be about booty and abs !!

So, to correctly do #cableflys ... Ensure the pulleys are sitting at the top of the machine. Select a weight that you can do 12 to 15 reps comfortably, NOT EASILY. Then stand tall, lean forward slightly (maintaining a strong core) and hold both handles. You can keep your feet together or you can try a split stance like I have in the video. With arms slightly bent, squeeze both handles together using arms and chest muscles. Try and hold the squeeze before slowly bringing arms back to start position.

In the video i am using 15 lbs on each side for 12 reps. I repeat it 4 times and #superset it with #crunches. #trainlikeagirl #thickfit #thickthighssavelives #preservethecurves #thickthighsmatter

Use this if you need help making gains as a student. The key is to constantly be eating. You don’t need to have 6 full meals but you need at least 3 full meals and a couple high calorie snacks •for your meals I recommend a meat such as chicken, beef, or turkey with a source of carbs like rice or potatoes
* Your snacks can include protein shakes, granola bars, trail mix, protein bars, and pbjs
* These high calorie snacks will make sure your getting enough calories in daily.
* Oh and don’t forget to get your sleep in, that’s when your body will produce the most growth hormone so you actually put on muscle.

Superset 2: 3-5 laps each way

*Although I typically use the superset format it can also be done as a circuit. **I used a slight bend in the arm on this particular day as I wanted to go a little heavier but I usually tend to use a locked arm. ▫️▫️▫️
Straight arm strength is a vastly underrated and undertrained aspect of most people’s fitness and strength development. Most likely this is due to an inherent fear of injury and the related lack of exercises taught and practiced in the general fitness field. The people who do embark upon it often overreach the demand on unprepared elbows and shoulders and are usually not mindful of shoulder position, core involvement and grip. However, full development of the shoulders, elbows, core and arms (particularly the biceps) can be enhanced with smart and gradual implementation of straight arm training. This can be done in a number of ways, many of which I have covered over the last year as I’ve tried to sprinkle it in as a side element to many of the other moves. It is an interesting realm of health I’m going to delve a bit more in the  so look for a bit more in this general realm in the near future. For now, start light and be mindful of load and body integrity and position (see the tutorial slide). ▫️▫️▫️

Not max decided to go light on these 🔢DB FLYS: 35LBS 9REPS x3 🔢PERFECT PUSH-UPS..DID 8 REPS LIKE I WAS LIFTING WEIGHTS. Hiii everyone! First pic is just a random pic I had on my phone cus I didn’t take one today but here’s some videos from today’s workout! Edwin and I freestyled today which just means we did our own things. I focused on #glutes because as y’all can tell, I don’t have too much going on back there but the specific workouts completed were:

#HipAdduction I definitely find this super easy but very painful after a while. I only stopped when I felt like I was doing too much and then I’d go back in for 4sets. 
#HipAbduction which I switched up a little bit by standing up on the foot stands so that I could target my lower back and quads as well but then I’d sit down after 30reps to focus more on my glutes for another 30reps. 
#LegPress for 30reps and I placed my feet in the center of the plate to focus on my hamstrings and glutes. 
#Goodmornings for 15repsx4 that shit was crazzzzyyyy lol 
#HipThrusts for 20repsx4

Edwin focused on chest (one of his favorites)... his workouts consisted of:

#BenchPress 10x4
#ChestPress 10x4
#CableFlys 10x4

We didn’t wanna go super intense today but I definitely feel like we put in that WORK in these exercises. Well, I hope you all enjoyed our videos... For men, muscular pectorals are a symbol of strength. The most basic movement, the bench press, has served as a primal proving ground ever since someone had the keen sense to craft iron into handy circles that could slide
onto each end of a long metal pole.

That exercise mentioned above still rules when it comes to pec development. But I am about to reveal to you other exercises that are good for the development of the different part of your chest.

Back to Chest again after only doing it 5 days ago but mixing things up. Understandably little weaker and had to be a little lighter but still felt good.

A workout for good hugs.

On a serious note, whether it’s cable chest flys or db chest flys save it for the end of your workout because it’s important to save all that energy and strength for a power lift. For example today I started off with flat bench then gradually made my way to some accessory work. Make sure to also incorporate dips into your chest workouts, they will help shape your overall chest and help you gain strength.

As you can see the Chest has 3 major areas: the Upper, Mid and Lower. You need to work all 3 parts (Don’t just get strong in 1 and neglect the other 2).

Isolated moves: such as the Cable Flys, will allow to have better control of the contraction which contributes to a better definition.

Bench Press or Dumbbell Press?? They are both important!! In my case I developed more of a passion for Dumbbell Presses because if it got too heavy I can just drop the weights to the floor which you can’t do if you’re bench pressing. However the best practice is if you PLATEAU in either one, you can switch it to the other (it’s amazing how that works, you won’t ever feel stuck).

1️⃣DB rotator cuff angles. Externally rotating the shoulders in order to prepare the shoulder ball and socket joint for the workout that is about to follow. Keep the elbows in a fixed position throughout both angles and create the movement through rotating the shoulder capsule. Imagine the shoulder as a clock face and the dumbbells the hands rotating around the clock face⏰

2️⃣Smith machine incline bench. Once you’ve setup to bench in the correct position so that the bar will be on the right plane and angle to your chest. Pin shoulder blades down and back into the bench, presenting a proud chest and taking tension off the anterior delts. Keep elbows pointing at a 30-45 degree angle throughout the reps, as this helps keep tension from being placed unnecessarily on the shoulders. Drive heals into the floor beneath your glutes and exhale as you press the bar upwards. Inhale as you eccentrically control the bar down placing the chest into a stretched position. This exercise can be used as a compound, pre-exhaust or accessory exercise, so at the start, middle or end of any workout. Weight, reps and tempo will dictate whether this exercise is being utilised for a strength, power or muscular hypertrophy purpose💪🏼 .

3️⃣Incline Cable Flys (low to high). This exercise focuses on chest width, specifically the width of the top portion of the chest by placing the fibres under constant tension by controlling the cables as wide and low as possible until your elbows are inline with your hips or slightly behind. Then squeeze them back to the top imagining you’re trying to hug a big tree. Then try to contract the chest through focusing on squeezing the elbows as close as possible at the top of each rep when your elbows are at chest height! Can be used as a pre-exhaust or accessory exercise.

A great exercise to add to your chest/push days to create a full chest, as upper chest is the most difficult to develop. Give them a go in your next session👊🏼

2️⃣Smith machine incline bench. Once you’ve setup to bench in the correct position so that the bar will be on the right plane and angle to your chest. Pin shoulder blades down and back into the bench, presenting a proud chest and taking tension off the anterior delts. Keep elbows pointing at a 30-45 degree angle throughout the reps, as this helps keep tension from being placed unnecessarily on the shoulders. Drive heals into the floor beneath your glutes and exhale as you press the bar upwards. Inhale as you eccentrically control the bar down placing the chest into a stretched position. This exercise can be used as a compound, pre-exhaust or accessory exercise, so at the start, middle or end of any workout. Weight, reps and tempo will dictate whether this exercise is being utilised for a strength, power or muscular hypertrophy purpose💪🏼 .

3️⃣Incline Cable Flys (low to high). This exercise focuses on chest width, specifically the width of the top portion of the chest by placing the fibres under constant tension by controlling the cables as wide and low as possible until your elbows are inline with your hips or slightly behind. Then squeeze them back to the top imagining you’re trying to hug a big tree. Then try to contract the chest through focusing on squeezing the elbows as close as possible at the top of each rep when your elbows are at chest height! Can be used as a pre-exhaust or accessory exercise.

A great exercise to add to your chest/push days to create a full chest, as upper chest is the most difficult to develop. Give them a go in your next session👊🏼
