HI HELLO EVERYONE

We’ve got some new faces around here (THANK YOU FOR 75K WOWOWOW) so I figured I’d reintroduce myself and let you know a bit about me:
.
-I am currently studying to be a Registered Dietitian (6 quarters left WOOP)
. -I fell in love with fitness after recovering from an eating disorder that I had in high school, and have been lifting heavy and eating good for 3 years now
.
- I was a gymnast for 6 years and a competitive cheerleader for 6 years 🎉 .
- I am an online coach and I teach girls how to create a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, making food and fitness something that they love and not places of punishment and restriction, and a 🔥🔥 mindset of strength and confidence.

-I’m a lover of sushi, pancakes, and froyo 🍣🥞🍦

1️⃣ Eating in a calorie surplus- which means eating above maintenance level. You need to be eating more than your body burns.

2️⃣ Meal prepping- Having your meals ready available and easy to access will keep you consistent.

3️⃣ Eating on a schedule- I eat every 2.5 to 3 hours. Small meal, snack or protein shake. It’s easier than eating everything in one serving.

This past weekend I drove down to CSTAT to watch the Aggies play Alabam. Can I change the past? No.  Was I upset? Yes. Were there things we could’ve done better? Yes! Did I still have fun seeing my friends and family? HELL YES! (And also, I am aware that my shirt isn’t technically the most accurate statement at the moment, buttttt anyways that’s not what I’m on here to talk about)⁣⁣

I want to take some time to discuss something that is, in my mind, the most important aspect of fat loss, achieving the physique you want, or just having a healthy lifestyle in general. ⁣⁣

Nutrition!!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Nutrition is easily THE MOST important contributing factor towards obtaining your desired physique. And I say “your” because everyone has DIFFERENT goals that are uniquely specific to them. (Example: A body builder’s nutrition would look entirely different from someone who is just starting their journey and has a diet geared towards fat loss) ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I would also like to take this opportunity to say that society has coined the term “diet” with a very negative connotation. So much so that when you hear the word “diet” you automatically think of restriction, starvation, little to no food, being miserable and tired all the time, low calorie, but most importantly people buy into the fact that if they are on a “diet” they will not be able to enjoy the foods they like! ⁣⁣

This is completely 100% FALSE⁣⁣
⁣
A diet refers to the overall sum of the food consumed by an organism or group. The word, as a noun, has nothing to do with how many calories you eat, or the ratio of simple to complex carbohydrates on your plate. A diet is just what you eat during the day⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Your diet can either be helping you obtain your goals, or keep you further from them!⁣ That’s why it is absolutely necessary to have proper nutrition if you want to gain results⁣⁣

Everyone has a different way of staying on track, find what works for you!⁣⁣

As for me, I find that counting my Macros works best with my lifestyle and goals. Mostly because tracking my macros allows me to have a little bit of flexibility in my diet. YES, FLEXIBILITY! Continued⬇️⬇️

Adding muscle is a difficult task. It doesn’t happen quickly and it certainly doesn’t happen by accident. It’s not like you’re going to do a set of squats and POOF, enormous quads. If you’re new to swimming, I kindly wouldn’t suggest you spend much time concerned with winning 28 Olympic medals. If you’re new to strength training, I’d say the same about “bulking up.”

P.S. - “bulking up” is wildly subjective and gets into some deep cultural baggage. Why, may I ask, are we so afraid of bulky quads? Have our quads been put on this earth to be visually appealing? Is that the point of quads?

Two videos from my #backworkout from Monday night. Did a lot of #latpulldowns and some #seatedrows. I finished off with seated #reardeltflies (first video) and some #frontdeltraises with the EZ Curl bar just to get a quick #shoulderpump at the end. It’s pretty much officially #bulkingseason and I’m sitting at about 230 pounds now, but I’m still gonna work on slimming out my waist while bulking up this fall and winter, to maybe about 240 pounds, or if I could get my waist down to a 34” and stay around 230-235 I’ll be happy with that. Last week, I tried 405 for 3 reps and failed. I took that failure, adapted and grew from it, and hit those 3 reps this morning.

You HAVE to fail to succeed. You fail forward. Every time, you learn something, apply it and become more resilient. We need to be challenged to keep ourselves pushing forward for the next one. If we aren’t being challenged, then we simply aren’t growing. So to all my followers who know and don’t know I am currently bulking and sitting at 205. I’m keeping my bulk as clean as I possibly can and even though I’m at 205 I still look and feel pretty lean.

Happy Humpday no I didn’t work the booty but I did get a juicy shoulder, arms, and core workout. There’s nothing out there that can replace good old fashioned hard work.

Hey kidz, don't forget to be grateful everyday that your body is fabulous, it moves you around all day and allows you to get super flexible, strong and it holds some pretty important organs that you need to be able to breathe. 🙃 Resting because I have to, this knee is not responding well to more than 3000 steps, more than my own body weight, and even pushing down the clutch in my car 🚙 can't wait to get back in the gym and get some blood pumping on the lower half. Feeling numb atm. Also, this knee brace just hurt me in other places... 😭

Growing season is well underway🔥

230lbs this morning after a big breakfast and a liter of water. Gonna put on as much strength and size as I can while trying to maintain around this body fat percentage for as long as possible until it's time to cut for summer. A clean bulk is gonna minimize how much fat I'll actually have to burn later on, as compared to stuffing my face with whatever I please and getting fat again.
