felt AMAZING to be back in the gym after being on my deathbed for the last week and a half with a virus!!! 😷 I lost 12lbs from not being able to eat and I am SO ready to get back to work & bulk back up. 
I also have been super bummed out because I missed a whole week of coaching my softball girlies. Mostly excited to get back to the grind with them. 😤💪🏼🥎💚💛
For anyone who knows me, the gym is my sanctuary. It is a huge part of not just my physical health, but my mental and emotional health as well. I’ve felt so out of touch with reality and I am so thankful and grateful to be healthy again and to be able to get back to doing the things I love most💕😊

This bulk has been nothing but a struggle as I’ve been slowly inching my way past 140 lbs on the scale. Currently 145 and abs are slowly going away (finally). It’s been a S L O W process but that’s perfectly fine! This isn’t supposed to be race and fast results ISNT the goal as much as everyone wants it to be. ⁣

Mentally, I’m good. A lot of people struggle with bulking because the fact of “gaining weight” or “gaining fat” scares people along with all the fluff. This bulk has been nothing but a struggle as I’ve been slowly inching my way past 140 lbs on the scale. Currently 145 and abs are slowly going away (finally). It’s been a S L O W process but that’s perfectly fine! This isn’t supposed to be race and fast results ISNT the goal as much as everyone wants it to be. ⁣

Digo “antes de que disminuya” porque ya pronto empiezo el proceso de bajar ⬇️% de grasa corporal (bajando mis calorías🥗) y en los glúteos se acumula mucha grasa. Some days I really think to myself wishing I had started lifting earlier, but I’m grateful to have started when I was 18. Better now than later, right? I’m happy with the progress I’ve made in the past year, and even in the past 3-4 months.

As many of you know, I’m in the gym 6-7 days week. This takes a toll. Everyday I beat my body up. Generally I don’t stretch afterword unless I’m really hurting.

I will wait until I’m in real pain before I do anything about it.

It’s times like this that I’m grateful for @_the_willows I know that when I go in it’s going to hurt and that’s 100% my fault for not taking care of myself.

Lori is able to find all my knots, prior/current injuries and every nook and cranny I’ve been ignoring. As soon as I get off the table I have range of motion that I forgot I had!

I get so used to my limitations I forget it’s possible not to hurt every waking moment. Take care of yourself now don’t do like I do and wait until it’s unbearable!

1️⃣protein ! I currently take @bowmar_nutrition Vegan Protein in Peanut Butter Cookie. I love to use it in my morning cereal, oatmeal, or in a shake 🥤it really helps me meet my protein intake for the day if I’m slacking!
2️⃣ @alaninutrition pump! Some days I take an actual pre-workout if I’m working legs, but since I drink a coffee in the morning I don’t need the caffeine or beat-alanine from pre! Instead I started taking this pump because it’s stimulant free! I am able to take it after coffee and not feel over the top/shaky/ etc!! 3️⃣Creatine Monohydrate (by Equate- Walmart brand) I am currently in the loading phase of taking creatine, so I take 5g before the gym and 5g after the gym. Next week I’ll only be taking 5g a day. This one in particular is unflavored, so I’m able to add it to anything and take it easily! This brand is only $8 for 90 servings which is awesome! There’s no need to spend an absurd amount of this product just for the name brand 
4️⃣(not in video) Complete multivitamin from BJs. I take one a day just to get in all those vitamins I may be deficient in!! 5️⃣(not in video) Calcium chews!! Since I don’t drink any dairy products due to being lactose intolerant, I need to get my calcium in! Between the ages of 25 and 30, our bones reach their maximum strength and density (Peak Bone Mass). This essentially means we cannot add to that PBM, but rather just make sure we replenish what we lose throughout the day!! I’m making sure I keep my bones nice and healthy!

40kg for 10.
Finally hit 40kg after a long break from the gym due to my diagnosis of an overactive thyroid which was a side effect of my MS treatment. This lead to heart palpitations which stopped me from training. This caused a massive weight loss of 14kg in a month. 
I'm so happy I'm back at the gym and I haven't given up just yet! 
I have to keep pushing myself and always willing to learn.

How to Overcome Gym Anxiety

I’ve been there. I remember the first time I went to an actual gym. I’d been working out at home for 2 years and been going to my apartment gym for 6 months but it still filled me with so much anxiety. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was doing or if I was even performing the exercises properly which made me super self conscious. And to make it worse the gym was rammed full of people who /looked/ (key word as most people don’t) like they knew what they were doing.

Here are my tips for making the gym less intimidating👇🏻
.
1️⃣Go with a plan📋I can’t stress this one enough. Write down the list of exercises you want to do and watch form videos in advance so you feel confident in what you’re doing rather than wandering around aimlessly.

2️⃣Stick to machines for your first few visits. Most machines have little diagrams with instructions on the side which can be super helpful while learning movement patterns and how to target certain muscles. They’re also a little safer than free weights if you’re a complete beginner.

3️⃣Take a friend👫Tackling the gym with someone else feels a whole lot less scary. Hence me dragging one of my flat mates at the time with me for my first couple of sessions.

4️⃣Ask for help! While I will always argue 1-1 PT is by far the most helpful, if you can’t quite afford to invest in it, most gyms offer inductions and all the PTs/gym staff I know are happy to give free advice if you ask.

5️⃣Remember everyone started somewhere. The people lifting insanely heavy weights, the people with amazing physiques and the people who look super confident, all had a first gym session which was probably far from impressive😛
