1️⃣ Alternating Over Head Dumbbell Press⁣

This exercise trains the whole deltoid muscle but emphasises mainly on the anterior deltoid, a bit less on lateral deltoid and minimally on the posterior deltoid.⁣

Strength is something that fascinates me. Often I find myself working very hard on a regular basis to access my mental, physical, & emotional strength. All of this takes deep and daily work for me to realize and accept that it’s within me, always. I think as humans we collect tools along our journey that allow us opportunities to access different facets of our own divine strength. ⠀

Having free will we can choose to enter our inner world and navigate our emotional landscape to come out with a deeper knowledge of who we truly are. Or we can choose to ignore the call and carry on, business as usual. ⠀

Physical injury or trauma also provokes this same opportunity. Do we open our hearts and our minds to what is ready to come through from our bodies literally stopping us in our tracks or do we continue the same physical/emotional patterns that lead us right back to where we were. When we are offered an opportunity to divinely pivot. Do we take it? Recognize that no matter what is happening, we always have a choice. ⠀

The difference between passive and active...

Passive stretching relies on an external force to push or pull the body into position.
⠀
Active stretching requires the muscles to move the body without the use of an outside force which means engaging only the active range of motion.
⠀
When I shifted from practicing mostly passive stretches to active postures I saw a huge change in how much strength I built. I stopped pushing my body into places it wasn’t ready for and started building strength in the areas that needed to engage to find those places. This meant I increased my range of mobility by building the strength and awareness I needed.

I don't have an Instabooty, butt I've come a long way (see what I did there?) I attribute any reason success in glute growth to the leg press. I recently reached 350lbs which is almost 3 times by body weight. Small butt club and still proud!

The last few months before February were a little rough on me. I kept getting sick and strained a muscle in back. That had me out and feeling pretty down for about 2 months. Then when my back was finally feeling ready to hit the gym and I got hit with the flu. 🤦🏼‍♂️

So finally after almost three months I’ve been back in the gym for about 2 weeks and couldn’t be happier. Originally I was gonna run mine and @stevemfit training program for gaming muscle and size but I had to tweak it a little because I’ve got some extra fat hangin around to get rid of. So I’ll be doing the foundation (strength) portion to gain some of the strength I’ve lost over the last couple months. Once I finish that I’ll move to the cut.

I’m pumped and so happy to be back in the gym. I missed it and the mentality it gives me as well.

Somebody asked her how many months it took her to get arms like that. Months? 😂 Y'all it takes years to build a body. Can you see progress after a few months? Absolutely. But so often people have unrealistic time expectations for physical goals. Me included. Don't stop just because your body doesn't change after one workout or three weeks of workout. The images you see on the internet are of girls who have worked hard, focused on proper nutrition (let me say that again 📣🗣️PROPER NUTRITION📣🗣️ and did the do consistently FOR YEARS. Consistency is key. KEEP GOING! 💪🏼 .

I stopped after 3 like “do I have one or two left?” And did one more and called it 😂
Bench at 125 3 reps with 1 RIR
I was a bit disappointed at first but these are paused reps so I feel a little better about it 
Deadlifts 285lbs for 6 reps with 1 RIR
I don’t know if I should have stopped to reset every rep, but by the time I was pounding them out it was too late lol

I've been disconnected, with no service for the last 72 hours and feel so connected and mindful of this beautiful life.

I'm ready to bring this reinvigorated version of myself back to my routines at home. I'm looking forward to applying all the personal growth I've gained from the last week.

CHEST TO WALL WALKS 
It has to be said I don’t meet many people who like these but they are one of the best drills when it comes to handstands. They build strength and also help with alignment. Left is may 2019  and right is today feb 2020. You can see quite a difference if you look closely, I am pushing through my shoulder more my hands are directly under my shoulders and overall my form is better. I would say this is the only way should use the wall with your chest facing it! So start learning to love this drill!

If your goal is to build muscle, put on weight, or build strength then you need to eat in a caloric surplus (consuming more calories than you burn.) Unfortunately, what quickly turns people away from their desire to be stronger or build muscle is that inevitable fat gain that comes with it.

Instead of focusing on the ONE negative, shift your mind to focus on ALL the added positives!

✅ Your strength will improve
✅ You will be able to recover quicker
✅ Your performance will improve
✅ You will be less focused on food aka not always hungry if all you’ve ever known is dieting
✅ You will sleep better
✅ You will put on muscle

Also worth mentioning:
✅ When you do decide to cut again, it will be a lot easier because you’ve built your metabolism back up (if you were cutting on 1400 calories before you may now be able to cut on 1800).
✅ For every pound of muscle you put on, your body automatically burns more calories doing absolutely NOTHING!!
✅ This is not a forever thing. You can always cut again.
