Jag vet att jag kan vara dålig på att uppdatera i perioder. Tidigare har jag låtit det påverka mig med skuld och stress, vilket jag är säker på att många kan känna igen. Det är okej att inte vara aktiv alla timmar på dygnet och du behöver inte ursäkta dig om du inte skulle vara det (vilket man ofta ser idag). Sociala medier ska vara någonting roligt och inspirerande, inte något som sätter press i vardagen. Du bestämmer när och hur ofta du vill vara tillgänglig, ingen annan. I’d say the last week of runs started with me contemplating skipping my miles. I didn’t, but I thought about it. Ultimately I realized those moments of feeling sore or unmotivated would dissipate the second I got moving. And they did. Like anyone, I’m not always motivated but I AM dedicated and that’s usually what gets me out the door. Some days it’s not always going to click, and some days you need a kick in the toosh to get out there. Whatever it takes, for me it always feels better getting it done. 💫

Es difícil de creer, pero aún a día de hoy mucha gente no va al gimnasio o directamente, no realiza actividad física por el miedo al qué dirán, por la parálisis por análisis o por no saber cómo empezar. ⁉️

Ante esto, viene bien recordar que en el gimnasio eres una/uno más. Que siempre habrá gente maleducada o indiscreta en este mundo. Pero la habrá en el gimnasio, en el mercado y en la peluquería. No entrenar por su presencia es un error. 👀

La mayoría de personas en un gimnasio van a su completo rollo. Mucho más teniendo en cuenta nuestras apretadas agendas y el poco tiempo que tenemos. De verdad, a poca gente le importa lo que vayas a hacer en el Gym. Así que hazlo. 🤓

Al igual que un médico el primer día de trabajo, un camarero o un piloto de avión, no lo harás todo bien desde el principio. Mantén un principio de humildad y aprendizaje continuo. Hay personas en todo establecimiento deportivo cuya misión es ayudarte a hacer las cosas bien. A veces dan mejores consejos y a veces peores, pero es nuestro deber solicitarles ayuda cuando lo necesitamos. ✋

Puedes socializar, hablar de tu vida, hacete fotos, contestar los comentarios de tu último post en IG o hacer un preguntas y respuestas en muchos sitios. El gimnasio no debe ser uno de ellos. El momento gimnasio/box/entrenamiento funcional/carrera/(inserte su actividad preferida) debe ser un momento sagrado. Un momento de concentración. Un momento que nos traslade a nuestro yo más ancestral, cuando corríamos libres por el mundo. Plantéate: ¿cuánto tiempo real pierdes en el gimnasio haciendo de todo menos entrenar?. Mejora eso. ⏲️

Disappointed with my 600m and 500m times as they weren’t as fast as I would’ve liked but in this weather after being at work 12 hours, I cannot really complain! My other times were well under target times - think it was a little bit of anger from my first two runs 😂

Attacking the @tough_mudder World’s Toughest Mudder in Atlanta, GA @shlee.marie (pictured within with the coveted 50-miler bib) covered 60-plus miles over 24 hours of continuous obstacle course racing (save the momentary pit stops for life sustainment). •
•
With her training buddy, race competitor, and best friend, @nixonsmom, alongside her, she battled freezing temps, ankle high mud on wet trails, and the darkness only 15 hours into a 24-hour race at 3:00am in unfamiliar territory can offer. •

Ashley has been training at Suffer City since it’s inception and along with Danielle (a Suffer City Coach) they represent @podiumdreams in professional obstacle course racing. •

Sprinting mechanics involve pushing into the ground really hard both horizontally and vertically. These SL Hops are a great way to challenge each aspect depending on what the athlete's need are. If they need more horizontal (drive phase)  then move the hurdles farther apart and vis versa for vertical(Max-V). @superdonkeyman400 is working on distance and consistency today.

VOLUME TRAIN - In the 65-80% 1RM range you can accumulate a crap ton, even a metric crap ton, of volume with little deterioration in technique, injury, and chronic fatigue. This to me is one of the lowest hanging fruits, but is something few willingly do.⁣

It’s low enough on the intensity spectrum that I can drive conditioning and body comp changes, while also recovering at reasonable rates. If I’m having an “off” day, it’s must easier to mentally push through. If you’ve played with maximal weights, there’s not much you can grit your way through when you are biased far on the neuronal end of the spectrum.⁣

Work like this is a focal point in the Hybrid Kettlebell Training manual we just recently released. The key is to drive performance on the main, motor output, based lifts and use the accessories to retain position, recoup mobility (see more below), and round out your training. You should see to drive volumes higher over a typical training cycle, but that doesn’t mean you need to smash the weight of accessories from the get go. ⁣

Secrets to growing the glutes, quads and hamstrings ?🍑 .

1.EAT your carbs , protein and fat. You need your food for your energy output - to help you lift weights/get stronger and then in turn build muscle. Many people are afraid to eat certain macro nutrients, most commonly fat or carb sources but we need all our macro nutrients to function properly. (Eat that avocado or bagel 🤤 )You also need to be in a calorie surplus to build muscle, it’s very hard to build when dieting and when your muscles are depleted in my opinion (not saying it can’t be done though)🤷🏽‍♀️ .

2.Do your compound lifts before all of the other fancy exercises . I will always do squats , lunges and hip thrusters weekly. I also include other exercises but they are my core lower body exercises. They must be done each week or I feel like I’m slacking 🤷🏽‍♀️ .

3.Progressive overload is key for muscle building . You should be aiming for heavier lifts in the gym every couple of weeks/months. If your starting to lift heavier it means your muscles are changing/growing. Get a notebook and keep track of lifts 📝 .

I realized through where most my lifts breakdown and found that it’s often due to a lack of lower back strength. If you go back to the previous maximal effort lift, you could see that while I complete the lift, my hips shoot up first showing a lack of lumbar region strength to pull  back and out of the hinged starting position. This could also be a potential form or set up issue as well in the lack of syncing between the lower and upper half in the pull. Therefore it’s important to make the differential between a basic form and strength issue. However most of the time, technique is rooted in strength and the ability to get into the most ideal advantageous positions in the first place.

How do you avoid the upset?

Understand that upsets happen, especially when you underestimate the competition. An attitude is needed that you are here to play your very best from start to Finnish! You cannot take anybody, or any team lightly.To maintain your focus in the present, create a game plan for this specific competition or opponent, focus on your game plan and execute your game plan.

While you cannot control the other team playing up a notch, you can control your level of focus and effort.  You need to be able to prepare the same way for every team, every game and every competition with the intensity and confidence mindset. Your focus must be on the opposition that is in front of you. 
In fact, the most important game, match or competition is the one you are competing in the present. Get up for the game! Don't take the opposition lightly. Use the pregame warm up to get your game face on with the correct level of intensity, confidence and trust to help you stay focused throughout the game.
