Quarantine things. 💁🏽‍♀️ I can't believe I'm posting this. Lol So I've been insecure about my stomach ever since I had Adora. Everyone doesn't have a snapback after giving birth. Over time, I have just been snacking and eating and eating and snacking. I blame McDonald’s. 😩😂😂 So I gained weight, and it just got to the point that I needed to work on it!! So I started being more active by dancing, you guys know dance fitness is my jam. However, I lacked discipline, something I'm trying to work on this year. Anyway, for the past week, I’ve been consistently doing @chloe_t 2-week ab shred challenge on Youtube. It's only been one week, and I'm excited about my progress already!! 😁 I recorded week one progress; it is live on my Youtube channel. Last week was my first week at my parents, in #Windermere- it consisted of very little #cardio, no #weights and no #abs

I could definitely see a difference as my body started to soften in areas that were actually #toningup. My blood sugars also noticed the difference and they ran higher than I’m use to. Felt like 💩 .

Today, I started new. Back in track with my #habits, #routine and #commitment - pushes my youngest in a jogging stroller and ran 3.55 miles. It took about 45 minutes but I don’t even care. We did it! Came back to my parents house and did an #abworkout .
.
Tomorrow is another day waiting to be tackled. Can’t wait to claim it as a #victory

What’s in your fridge? 🍑🥑🍅I try to keep our fridge clean and without anything we won’t be eating that week. I only shop once a week (Saturday’s)and I try to get everything we need until Friday! I hate throwing away food and just buying more than we actually need. I like to organize the shelves by “categories” so we can find things easily! 🥛The first one I usually have milk, coffee, pickles, peanut butter. 🍇The second shelf is where we keep fruits, eggs, and yogurt. 🍗Third one I like to store all the cooked food we have for the week. We meal prep every single Sunday - I have a YouTube video on my meal prep so go check it out 😉 the bottom shelf is always full of sparkling water and any drinks 🤓 finally, the drawers are for cheese 🧀 products and veggies all the way at the bottom!

Pistol squats are a great single leg exercise. But there are a few things that will limit the ability to get into a proper pistol squats, including mobility & strength. Amongst these, what I see a lot of people struggle w is ankle mobility (so the foot is flat on the floor), along w  hamstring flexibility & hip flexor/quad strength (to get the non squatting leg straight in front of you & off the ground).
⚠️ Lowering into a pistol squat should be done w caution & control, NOT momentum. Knee follows the same direction as toes.

1. My new pistol dance 😅
2. Take your time to work on ankle mobility, hamstring flexibility & hip flexor/quad strength. This will not happen overnight
3. Let’s start unconventionally and differently from what you’ll see mostly out there, which is lowering into a squat. This clip & the next 2 will help you come up from a pistol squat & strengthen your legs & glutes. 1) Make sure you can get into a deep squat at first. Work on that before moving on. 2) Then start rolling on your back. 3) Roll & come up on your feet 4) Roll & try to stand up higher each time till completely up straight ⚠️tuck in your chin as you roll on your back
4. Perform each of the variations one at a time as seen here till you’re able to do each easily ⚠️tuck in your chin as you roll on your back
5. Pistols with w control down, rolling in your back then standing up
Now let’s change things up & work on lowering into a squat:
6. Single leg chair sits. Lower the bench height used over time
7. Deficit pistols
8. Assisted pistols. You may use TRX or a person to assist you up
9. Counter weighted pistols. They’re actually a bit easier since the weight is helping you counterbalance. Keep it away form you. Not close to your body as that will make it more difficult
10. Celebrate! You’ve unlocked the magic power of Pistol Squats 🥳🤪

4. Perform each of the variations one at a time as seen here till you’re able to do each easily ⚠️tuck in your chin as you roll on your back
5. Pistols with w control down, rolling in your back then standing up
Now let’s change things up & work on lowering into a squat:
6. Single leg chair sits. Lower the bench height used over time
7. Deficit pistols
8. Assisted pistols. You may use TRX or a person to assist you up
9. Counter weighted pistols. They’re actually a bit easier since the weight is helping you counterbalance. Keep it away form you. Not close to your body as that will make it more difficult

Got the mom and sister in on this one! Just want to brag on my little sister for a second. Chloe is 10, has been following my account, and has been counting her calories the past few months. She’s lost 10 pounds ON HER OWN... just by counting calories. This just blows my mind that a 10 year old would have the control to do that!  I’m so proud of her😭😭 ⁣

⭕️ Runner’s Plank - Taking your generic front plank and twisting it to be sport specific training AKA mimicking the position you will be in for your sport. This is a difficult position to be in and stay in. Why?⁣
.⁣
👉 The position is in the transverse plane: hip flexors and extensors have to work, your toes enter an athletic position, & your obliques fire for anti-rotation because your body goes from four to two points of contact 👀 ⁣
.⁣
🧐 Additionally when you run or sprint, you should be keeping your rib cage and hips stable. Our hips cause rotational forces when we run and to we have to engage in proper arm mechanics and core stabilization to counteract the forces developed by your legs. ⁣
.⁣
‼️ However, just like with all training elements, progress to this position. I spoke about your training programming and periodisation has to follow theoretical principles and that running programs are developed as such with long, short, recovery, and tempo days. Your physical training should mimic and supplement that.⁣
