Today is thanksgiving in 🇨🇦 !

Taking the time out of your day to reflect on the good that is present in your life is something that we should all practice more often! Part of my mental healing journey is recognizing the things in my life that cause me stress and anxiety, and conversely, recognizing things that I’m grateful for -mostly things that I take for granted each day 🤓 and also allowing myself to feel pride and joy for the things I’ve worked hard to accomplish!
I’m working on finding joy in small day-to day things instead of only allowing myself to feel “happy” or proud when I reach an achievement. Most of the time these “achievements” can be superficial anyways, so it’s super important to put things into perspective and that way I can use my gratitude to appreciate life more fully!! .
So today on thanksgiving- instead of just giving your “thanks for this food”- take a second to truly think about the things in your life you’re appreciative of, and also what the implications could be if they weren’t a part of your life. 
I’m grateful for this little Instagram support system and connections I’ve made because of it, and I want to thank you for being a part of it!
Hope u eat lots of yummy food and pie today (or leftovers if u already had your meal)!!! (Not a fan of pumpkin pie, is that weird?😂 I think it’s the Brit in me)

GOING TOO HARD?⁉️

With weightlifting being as popular and prominent in social media as it is, I think a lot of people are getting the wrong information when it comes to how much they should be putting their bodies through. The majority of people are looking to gain muscle (whether that be a small or large amount), and I see a lot of people training to failure on every set or hitting the gym for 2 hours 7 days a week. Although you might think that the more you train, the more you'll gain, this can actually be hindering your progress.

What happens when we lift weights? We're causing damage to our muscles and that damage sends a signal to our brains to make them stronger so they won't suffer the next time we hit the gym. With that being said, our bodies have to heal the damage before they build on top of it. In other words, we have to give our bodies time to recover. Otherwise, if we're constantly in the gym damaging our muscles, they will be in a constant state of healing and won't ever enter the growing phase.

What does all of this even mean? Well, for those who train with crazy intensity or frequency, you might be slowing down your progress. Take a minute to really evaluate how much time you're giving your muscles to heal and build. As @hubbellfitness would say, the goal is to be doing the least amount of work for the most results. You may surprise yourself if you cut back on the frequency of your workouts. Just some food for thought. Happy Monday fam! 💕

GOING TOO HARD?⁉️

Do you ever just like weekend too hard that you need another weekend? 🙋🏼‍♀️
So many activities for this introverted hermit. Don’t get me wrong, I like being social but I need a solid balance of me time as well.

This weekend was full of events, friends and good times. Deadlifted a car and met some cool peeps on Friday. I may not be peaked to pull 315 (😂lol) but I will brag a little that I was the only girl to rep a car. Plus, got to check out a gym in SD that I will definitely be hitting up again. @grindergym @davedepew @jeremysliftin

Had a blast shooting with @ironrebel and squad on Saturday and exploring Huntington Beach. Can’t wait to see all the dope content we shot! @kyle_wurzel @luke_the_hulk @bigb_superheavy @eqvisions

Got to support @Liz.love.lift in her third powerlifting meet and she absolutely rocked it. So proud of the work she put in all while juggling a new business!

Gratefully diving back into Monday with school, work and creating for all of you guys!

I’ve always been an artist from a very young age. I just never consistently did it, I did quick spouts here and there over the years. Just enough to satisfy the creative side that was itching to get out.

After a massive realisation earlier this year that I was not living my passion I made a few radical changes. I quit my “job” as a contracted, commission only broker which looking back now was a great learning curve to realise that I was not fulfilled in my life. I woke up dreading having to do it but stubborn as I am, kept going to show everyone else I could do it - and that’s another thing I’ve learnt now, is to really not let others opinions become more important than my own moral compass.

The day I quit my “job” is the day everything changed and a massive relief came over me. An opportunity at Rocket Lab came for me, I started consistently doing more art, I joined CrossFit because we all know we feel much better with endorphins!
.
Everyday I contribute to the building of rockets and at night I am disciplined enough now to get the paintbrushes out even if I don’t feel like it - and im so god damn happy.
.
Do what you love, regardless of what  others think and put it out there. How much have I been posting about my art? Lots! Am I annoying people? Probably! Do I worry about it? Nope! 😊😂.

Do what you love, read books, talk more with friends, exercise, eat vegetables and just watch how much everything changes.

На выходных я первый раз была в городе Брянск на чудесном турнире!  @fbbo32 
Это был заключающий выход в осеннем сезоне и я получила максимум удовольствия от процесса 🥰 Это можно видеть на моём довольном лице.

2 cloves garlic, minced⁣
1 jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped⁣
1 red bell pepper, diced⁣
1 cup frozen corn, thawed⁣
1 (15 oz.) can black beans, drained and rinsed⁣
1/2 cup sour cream or plain greek yogurt⁣
4 ounces cream cheese, softened and cubed⁣
1/4 cup chopped green onions⁣
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro⁣
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)⁣

1. Heat pan over medium heat, add olive oil. ⁣
2. Once oil is hot, add garlic, bell pepper and jalapeno. Cook 2-3 minutes until peppers start to get soft. ⁣
3. Add spices, stirring for 30 seconds or until fragrant. Add⁣
4. Stir in chicken and let cook about 5 minutes, lower heat to medium low. ⁣
5. Stir in cream cheese and greek yogurt/sour cream until melted.⁣
6. Add black beans and corn, let cook about 2 minutes and remove pan from heat. ⁣
7. Stir in the green onions and cilantro. ⁣
8. Serve over rice or wrap in a tortilla. Great hot or cold. ⁣

This week in our house, we're eating these Southwest Cream Cheese Chicken Wraps. These are so versatile. You can fill a tortilla and make them in a wrap or your can serve it over rice. It's a great lunch or easy dinner and is good hot or cold.⁣

Another tip to make this one really fast is to use a store bought rotisserie chicken and shred it up. ⁣
