    Been a while since I did a good #mealprepmonday ...like at least a year haha. But feeling so motivated in terms of my health + fitness goals and meal prepping is key to my success. I always do a couple proteins, carbs + lots of veggies. Today was chicken, salmon, sweet p’s, I’ll make some quinoa + soba noodles later, plus asparagus, brussel sprouts + broccoli 😋 #mealprep

We've redesigned the food pyramid into a vegan-friendly version.⁠
⁠
Grains, especially the wholegrain versions are packed with complex carbs, fiber and tons of essential vitamins & minerals. I'm talking oats, brown rice, quinoa (yes, I know it's technically a seed), etc. They'll generally take up the bulk of your meals. ⁠

Fruit & veggies, we all know the benefits of them, fiber & all sorts of nutrients, fill up on your fruit & veg each day, I generally aim for 10 servings a day, but whatever stage you're at, work to increase it, even if it's 2-3. ⁠

Legumes like beans, lentils, soy products, packed with protein, fiber, complex carbs & more. Tofu & nut butter are minimally processed yes, but are generally close to their original form and have a similar nutritional profile, think peanuts v 100% peanuts peanut butter.⁠

Nuts & Seeds, protein plus essential fats.⁠
⁠
At the top, we've got moderately to heavily processed food like refined carbs, oil, vegan junk food, etc, you can still include this, just be mindful of your consumption and focus on the bottom layers first. ⁠

Porque son pocas las personas que tiene unos abdominales naturales, y son mucho menos lo que tienen un core desarrollado de manera integral, en especial los oblicuos, siendo uno de los músculos más difícil de hacer visible.

Teniendo claro que es clave acompañar tu entrenamiento de un correcto déficit calórico saludable sostenible para lograr hacerlo visible.

Hoy te compartimos que para lograr tener unos oblicuos correctamente entrenados debes saber que la función principal para la que existen es evitar que nuestro cuerpo o tronco se desplace de manera lateral o mejor conocido como Antiflexión Lateral. Por lo que teniendo claro eso debes entrenar tus oblicuos para esa función y una de las mejores maneras son las PLANCHAS LATERALES Y SUS VARIACIONES. Por lo inclúyelas en tus rutinas de abdomen y core y verás como mejoras más rápido tus oblicuos!! .

    Feeling it today. Ive spent several months working to improve my posture by strengthening my back, and other corrective exercises. Ive seen drastic improvement, and am genuinely happy with the results Ive seen.

With that said, I'm going to be shifting to focus more on my core and leg strength. Several years of laying in bed, in addition to what I believe to be sciatica.. Ive neglected things that cause discomfort and/or pain. We shall see 😁 Just keep grinding.

📍This warm up needs to stop! I think we’ve all seen or are victims of it. But, for some odd reason, so many people do it. I have no idea where people learned it from or where it originally came from, but maybe you guys can comment below your guesses as to where it came from.

📌What people are TRYING to achieve or at least, what I think they’re trying to achieve, is to warm up or activate their shoulder, specifically the rotator cuff muscles.
. 📌The problem with this exercise is that there is no tension on the rotator cuff. I think we all know how gravity works. But, just to refresh your memory, it acts as a downward force pulling towards the earth. With that being said, the weight is being pulled down. So the only thing that is resisting gravity in this position would be your biceps. The rotator cuff would need a resistance that is acting parallel to the muscle essentially to stimulate a contraction of the rotator cuff.

📌A better way to stimulate the rotator cuff would be to use a resistance band or cable and perform external and or internal rotations, if your goal was to actually warm up your rotator cuff. By doing this, you will have a resistance that is parallel to the rotator cuff muscles.
